    Just a heads up if you haven't worked out or already, nip the fittings up on the thirsty nomad filter. Ours leaked under the sink 😅
    All good now and we've done the Gibb so if it was going to leak it would have haha

      Thanks I’ll keep an eye on them. Had town pressure through it with no issues yet, see how it goes getting shaken.

      The brass fittings have o-rings, so shouldn't need to be too tight (yup, don't go crazy with a spanner!) - the elbows need to be nice and tight as they rely on washers.
      The Thirsty Nomad has nylon fittings to replace the brass if you want.

      You have to be really careful with the plastic female BSP to John Guest fittings. If you over tighten them they split really easily. Hand tight is enough to make them seal.

    Love this build. I can see myself doing if I wanted but not. Looking forward to the final series.

    Hi mr transient, as said before love watching the build. Feel free to ignore me!
    I know now why I stopped at planing stage(😆).
    Have you seen qubelok, or other names: 25mm aluminium sq tubing with plastic connectors. Easy to use and stronger than you’d expect, especially with ply.
    Also why electric water heater? A diesel air water heater would be no bigger, tho take a bit longer to heat up.
    As I suspect you have fixed already but those shelves in kitchen won’t last!
    Thanks

      Hi Fred, yes already redesigning pantry area. I’m going to add a slide out drawer that tucks in under the bed frame giving me more storage. I’ll use these shelves for a while though. Should survive the black top, and a little off-road i think. I did look at some aluminium systems for the bed frame actually. Always a balance of price and practicality. I’m currently testing out battery and solar and the various drains on it. I’m pretty happy with the 12v heater as it’s “free” heating. Those diesel heaters are really pricey too.

      Genesis at diesel heat Australia, about $3k…
      I think that’s what is most frustrating and, yet most enjoyable: constant compromise!weight, cost size usability…

    Plumbing is lookin great Craig. That push lock stuff is nice to work with. Hoping I can get a water system in next year too. Curios to see if the residential shelving stuff works for you

      Thanks Jess, yeh I’m curious too. Easy to deconstruct later if not. I’m thinking to put a slide out box which is attached to the bottom of bed frame later, as not sure there’s enough storage in present config

    Love your work Craig, are you gluing the walls and cabinetry as apposed to screwing or both. Very interested in how the hot water unit goes, cheers

    • @PerpetualTransient
      @PerpetualTransient  Рік тому

      Hi Wayne, it’s a mix of both depending on surface area for glue and likelihood of movement. Mostly relying on glue though. I’m camping now but haven’t really used the water yet. It’s the final test really, that and the shower stall effectiveness.

    Are you going to fit a pressure reducer on the town water inlet?

    • @PerpetualTransient
      @PerpetualTransient  Рік тому

      Hi Brad, it’s not actually necessary for this build because everything is town pressure rated, including hot water system. I do have a brass screw on one i can put on the inlet if i ever hit a town or CP that’s got crazy pressure. The HWS has a pressure relief valve which should let me know!

    Hi
    Have you got a list of items used ie what did you use for the bulkheads/shower walls ECT ECT

    • @PerpetualTransient
      @PerpetualTransient  Рік тому

      No but it’s a good idea for an episode later on for sure. I covered the different panels etc in the Q&A episode 1. All interior panels inc shower are purelite, all exterior are fibreglass composite, floor is thermolite

    Looking good. Starting to get somewhere now. BTW, how are those Atlas tanks......I just got an estimate to get one made locally (Bendigo), he reckons it will never fail, 10mm thick, don't need a stone guard, internal baffles. Just not sure if his price is worth it @ 700

    • @PerpetualTransient
      @PerpetualTransient  2 роки тому +1

      I haven’t given them a good test so can’t confirm if they’re good yet. They are also about 10mm thick but no baffles. I found a mob in castlemaine that make them too, about the same price but was going to take too long.
