When I pick sweet corn from the garden it is at the peak of perfection. No more than 5 minutes in a pot of boiling water and then you have the best corn on the cob. 15 to 20 minutes turns the corn starchy.

The directions on pkg say boil 3-5 minutes. I'm curious as to why you cook it 15-20minutes? It doesn't make it soggy? I just want to make sure I'm doing it correctly. And do I double everything to make 8 ears or just add 1/2 extra?
    i.e...
    3 cups water
    1 1/2 cups milk
    1 1/2 stick butter

Good Morning Renee this is the best question in the world? And the reason why I say that I have boil corn for 3 to 5 minutes and that’s now how I was grown up on corn to me it’s still too tough after 3 to 5 minutes my grandmother boiled corn at every family Reunion and she would let it boil for 15 to 20 minutes and it would be absolutely tender and Delicious not mushy at all, you’re absolutely going to love this recipe. You can even keep the fire on low to keep it warm, but please boil your corn for more than 3 to 5 minutes unless you like a tough kernel on your corn 🌽 thank you for your awesome support and great questions.
