Look at his facial structure , why would they go to such lengths to make him look like a young Lan Di ? Theres a reason she gives him that item , but you will have to wait and see what LanDi does when he sees it.
I agree, besides they may have scrapped that old comic and are now making it so we DO find out that Lan Di IS Xiuying's brother who obviously stopped going by Ziming since leaving her & being in the Chiyomen as LAN DI!

I think Xiuying's long lost brother IS Lan Di, but unless Yu suzuki finally makes Shenmue 3 we'll never know.

there's a canon comic in shenmue 2 game, it showed that Xiuying brother is indeed in Chi You Men. But sadly, it's not Lan Di.

Because Lan Di is a lot more self assured then Ziming? In the comic, Ziming is a lot more reluctant, unlike Lan Di who can kill and call it a tuesday.
