But, if the policyholder acted in good faith and can show reasonable cause, there's a chance the insurance company may remove or reduce the charge. Most likely outcomes include cancellation of the policy, a premium increase in future policies, the unpaid bill being sent to a collections agency, and potentially the disqualification of the employer obtaining coverage from that company (and others) until the audit is complete & charge is paid.
