So the reason they’re mean to meg is because the first season they didn’t have anyone who would write as a teenage girl, so instead of hiring someone they decided they’d just make fun of her the whole show.
When they started to make this cartoon they had no idea how to write for a teenage girl so they decided to pick on her instead
I was just about to comment this but glad I checked first. This is absolutely true.

Adam West was the original Batman. In Family Guy he's the Mayor of Quahog
If you must know why the character Meg became the center of abuse in family Guy well then it's because her original voice actor left the show to pursue a different career. Her voice actor now is Mila Kunis ever since then. Side note the character Meg Griffin has had three voice actors one in the test pilot and two in the main show.

Meg was bullied from the beginning, they were finding her hard to write for, so they basically just used her as a punching bag and never stopped lol.

Bullying Meg was always a thing, it just kinda happened at the start of the series.
Eh not really lol In season 1-3, Meg was portrayed as just an average ordinary teenage girl and she wasn't getting bullied from the family, she only got bullied by her classmate Connie and her friends. The family didn't start bullying Meg until season 4.

There are very few episodes where Meg is not bullied by her family but one episode in particular from season 8 titled "Dial Meg for Murder" is one of the few episodes where Meg gets to beat up a family member ( I won't say who ) I think there is a Family Guy compilation about someone getting their ass kicked. You should react to that.
Meg was originally voiced by Lacey Chabert then during the end of season 1 Mila Kunis from thats 70s show took over.
I wonder why they changes voice actors.
@@TeacherandCoach2020 At the time, Lacey Chabert was in school and doing Party of Five, so she left Family Guy so she could focus more time on the former two commitments.

The reason they bully Meg is because the writers didn't know how to write lines for a teenage girl, so they just made her the butt of every possible joke.

I'm seeing some people say that Meg had been bullied since the beginning and as someone who has watched Family Guy for a very long time, that's not really true. In season 1-3, Meg only ever got bullied by her classmate Connie (the popular girl) while she was more or less treated fairly well in the family, at least from Peter, Lois, and Brian while her and Chris had your typical sibling shenanigans. Stewie was the one who'd make some snide comments about her but he did that to everyone lol. It wasn't until season 4 where the running gag of Meg getting bullied by the family started when the show came back after being cancelled off of Fox and was picked up by Cartoon Network's Adult Swim to continue the show and that's when the writers admitted that they didn't know how to write for a Teenage girl and resorted to the Meg Bullying gag.
Seth Macfarlane is a very sick dude. And I am in love.
In the DVD commentary for one season, Seth MacFarlane talked how they wanted to create the "all-American family" with kids on the show. So they added Stewie, Chris, and Meg and when they did, they realized there really wasn't anything they liked about the character, so she just got dumped on and then it became a running joke on the show.

Peter's branding iron says P.G. for his initials; Peter Griffin. Meg's ass has A.W. branded on it already however, because Mayor Adam West said, "That's my steer Griffin" basically meaning that Meg belongs to Mayor West already. Ergo, Peter can't brand Meg for himself.

Seems to me a lot of the humor on Family Guy is stark opposites. Every dad I knew treated his daughter opposite of how Peter treats Meg. Can't say I understand every bit FG does but it's rarely disappointing. Fun humor. I keep watching for reliable laughs.

The writers have a deep resentment of their siblings and express it by attacking Meg 🤔🥴😉
yes it basically was meg was always put off to the side but it got worst in newer seasons.
While it did get worse in the later seasons, they actually have stopped with the gag after that episode "Peter's Sister". I noticed that the family was not dumping on her anymore and it's more or less went back to the way it used to be where she's treated fairly well again.
