I spent a winter building one of these. I wanted it to be very scale. So every joint got glued and clamped. Then I put a pin hole in each board and inserted a glue covered copper wire. After sanding it looked like copper nails. I covered it all in a nice coat of white paint. So it would not rot.
I built the jig for the boat. Pretty simple using a table saw, glue and a carpenter's square. Short Video of how it is constructed here - ua-cam.com/video/PEsQ-arB-1M/v-deo.html
Was wondering what kind of wood you use? Also, do you make every individual piece out of larger blocks or do you buy some of them already made to size?
Fun build of a cute little Chesapeake bay "flattie" crabbing skiff! It's 14 inches long and built just like the big ones.
Very interesting project. Thank you for the video!
You are most welcome. I will be finishing the seats, rub rails, thole pins and forward decking in the next video.

That sounds like a great idea.
Hi, nice build. Did you make that jig or is it available online?

This model was built from White Pine. Just bought some 3/4 " boards and ripped them 3/32" thin on the table saw.
