2:23 - That's just heat blur, not a vapor trail of fuel.
3:44 - That is a jamming pod on the centerline. The TGP is on the right cheek station. Right side of the engine intake.

There is a lot of cost-benefit involved. You plug a volcano by spitting out an absurd amount of SO²..? Friend, you have to look from all angles. Post burners are used for short periods!👍
