i have a couple ammo cans and want to make a portable radio out of it. looking to put in maybe 4 in woofers and maybe a blaupunkt non cd car radio , a 12 v power supply and dry cell battery(maybe) just to keep the settings saved. if there is a better way to keep the radio settings saved im open ears. maybe a set of speaker binding posts to connect external speakers.
You can use that. I have used that before (a form of Dynomat). Another option is foam. A cheap alternative is a mattress topper from a big box store. That will do a lot of projects and is usually pretty cheap.
Yeah just made one of those with those exact speakers. I used the Hi Fi Bass power amp that has bass and tweeter outputs and added the cheap $7.00 tweeters. It sounds great. All things you can get at Walmart except for the amplifier. I would say the total was under $60 I like the amp cause it has a built in power supply and you cut a box set the amp in cut and set the speakers in and a couple solder joints done. Super fast to make. I just threw some foam in the box also for acoustic purposes.
Is this a component kit? You should hook it up to one channel and make the input mono. however if you don't hook it up that way, there is no difference between which is right or left
@@MrSpanky473 if that is the case, I'd just hook it up to one side, unless you're trying to get double the power. The best thing to do either way, is make it a mono signal coming to the board. So both sides get the same signal. You'd need a separate BT module from the amp
I noticed you used Scosche speakers in the video which you can easily find at Walmart, but the links are for Kicker, is there issues with the Scosche speakers?
Good Question. I did use the scoshe on this build, but I do not recommend them. They sound okay, but you can get a lot better sound for the price with something like the Kickers, JBL or even the Alpine. This was a budget build for a friend and this is what he could afford.
You're a good friend to all of us, I'm happy I asked. I seen Sony Speakers over there and if 10 or $20 makes the sound, that's good for me. I wont be building this one, but I ordered a bunch of them Dayton 250 Bluetooth boards and that good mono board I suggested the second time. I've been liking the Class A/B Amps, much cleaner. For them ammo container builds you can solder a wire on the end of the antenna and drill a hole and solder a 1 1/2 to 2" wire and run it out the hole, any longer or shorter doesn't work as good, plus there plenty of videos out there doing this antenna mod. you leave the insulation on it and leave 5/16" or 8mm exposed. Just a thought for you.
Wow! It does look easy!
Great video
Great job

Wood or sound deadener? I have heard that car sound deadener is good for metal and plastic speaker boxes

Where can you get the circuit boards and battery pack for the inside?
Can u tell me the list of supplies I need I would like to make one just to try for myself
How long does it play on those 3 little batteries?

how long does the box last on those 18650 batteries?
I honestly didn't get a chance to test it, before I have it away. My best guess would be 7 hours.
5 hours tops at full volume, closer to 8hrs at half volume
What plastic ammo box should I get put 6.5. 1/2 150watt marine speakers wil fit on the front of it ? Please get back to me thanks
That does look easy! I may have to do this someday. Do you have to use MDF for the amplifier?
Wat size hole saw did you use
About how much where all the supplies needed for this project?
I can't find the amplifier board in Amazon's says no longer available
im using 2x6.5" speakers with a 7"touchscreen
If I was going to use 1-6.5" and 1 tweeter, does it make any difference which is right and which is the left channel,
