... we all wish, that the sound quality would be as good as the advice! :-)

I love the body language as you held up that full-face mask. I agree: why does this thing exist? A marketing solution to a non-problem.

Tried to buy a standard snorkel for my son.....
Nowhere to be found! They all sell these bells and whistles snorkels. Eventually found one at a techdive shop, I kid you not.

Sadly, full face snorkeling masks are being insanely popular these days.

People who are not natural and comfortable in the water, and yet are qualified scuba divers. That worries me. First time I entered the water off a dive boat with no gear for a swim, close to shore in about 3m clear/calm water, and several workers were concerned about my ability to swim. That worries me. Luckily, the boat master said "He's Australian, he can swim", so I got to stay in the water. Also, that worried me because this was a dive boat. Surely a qualified scuba diver should be able to swim. PADI requirement is or was swim 200m.

I have heard that you can get a headache from them as well since you are adding a lot of extra dead space and will inhale your own CO2 again.

Modern snorkels also have the problem of being made by fragile material like some kind of plastic that are easy breakable if it accidentally drop on the floor. The rubber/silicone ones are way better in this point too, because we can bend, roll, drop throw and even a cylinder falling over it won't break or compromise it's performance!

eeks. It appears the sharks tail introduced a hum in the audio :-(

And also muted it. If he swallowed the shark the microphone might be closer to hear him. Seriously though I think the volume of the FF mask might also allow CO2 build up if you breathe shallow and/or have small lungs.

I noticed you fining scuba style (bent knees) when you did the snorkel demo. Just habit?

So much mic and so lousy audio... Tsk tsk..
    Thanks for the advice though.

The full face snorkels are dangerous in every breath you are breathing the dead space first thats low on oxygen and high in CO2. theres already been a few deaths related to this issue. good to see your staunch rejection of this device.....
