I am from Venezuela and I left my country in 2008 and moved to Denmark. Now, I am used to many things I found incredible in the beginning and I can relate to her comments 100% all she says is what I remember feeling when I arrived in Denmark and the reasons I came here: better quality of life and safety. It is very difficult to explain to people who never lived or visited a developing or third-world country. Something they don't show you in the video is that the shops have merchandise UNSUPERVISED outside of the store, yes, I repeat: they take merchandise and leave it outside the shops in the pedestrian area UN-SU-PER-VI-SED to attract clients, and yet the amount of robbery is extremely low, I have so many years living here and I still find it crazy.
I remember driving through the countryside with an exchange student when they first came here to Denmark, just taking a look at the area during the summer but the thing she thought was the most incredible was that some people sold stuff from the road, without being there. So usually people have some food or home made art or whatever next to the road unsupervised and if you want to have something you just take it and leave the money in a box there. Or now you'd just transfer some money to a number on a sign. She couldn't believe some people didn't steal the stuff or the money left in the box.
Thx buddy for coming and helping, hope you thrive......... your comment is lol, not really thought much of until now that you mention it😂 Now maybe you know the meaning of trusting a fellow citizen, world can be a bad place im sure Not too long ago, i dropped my wallet on street where i live, with cards and stuff..... 3 hours later, it was returned to me from a father and a little daughter that called me, i happily gave the girl the 80 dollars that was in there, she was like 8, and hope she learned honesty pays, cause it would have been hell getting all these cards from new again, im so grateful for these kind of people, and i would do the same for others. @@0cosmic That happend to me both with my wallet and my phone. The level of honesty and thrust in the scandinavian coutries is truly something to cherish and be proud of.
We in the Nordics are taught from a very young age to not throw trash on the streets or in nature. Of course some do but in general we hold on to the ice cream wrapper or whatever until we come by a trashcan
Denmark has a coastline totaling 8,750 km combined, a good 1,436 km longer than previously thought and is longer than the Chinese Wall, with most of it being sandy beaches, and the furthest you can be from the coast at any point in Denmark is only 52 km (32 miles).
The longest unbroken sand beach in Europe are in Denmark, Jutland and goes from Skagen nearly all the way down to the German border where it meats "vadehavet". A Unesco heritage site/area with strong tidewaters and much unique wildlife. Many birds live there and millions and millions of birds use it as feeding ground when migrating each year.
Thinking of old buildings from the 1600.. At that point it was around 1.600 years since the first recorded use of the word Dane to describe the people living there. Meaning, Denmark, and Danes as a people and culture is among the oldest in the entire world. Remaining the same identity throughout time. This also explains why Denmark have the oldest royal family in the western world. The oldest national flag in the world and many other things. Denmark is a historical powerhouse. And many events that have changed the world is connected to Denmark, and its over 2000 year history. When the first people seeing themselves as Danes walked around. Rome was the super power. France, England, Spain, Germany all of those places was not even an idea. And as Rome collapsed Denmark grew into one of the most powerful empires in the world. Very few people or nations have a culture that dates back so far, with one continuously identity. Rome became many things, different city states. Large parts even controlled by Normans, descendents of Danes, then under French, Austrian, Spanish rule. Before landing on being Italian. And in those 1000's of years, Danes remained Danes. Danes where there before anyone was called English, Or Swedish. And in large parts Danes help form the people around them, into the nations they would later become.
Nice concise text. I honestly believe that politicians like Trump never would stand a chance in a nation like Denmark. We have to much history and things to preserve to fall for dangerous demagogues. Most Danes have the ability to integrate long term thinking in their decisions that involves those coming after us. I think that are part of why we are ahead of most when it comes to transitioning to a fossil fuel free energy production and usage. We understand we only have this nation and this planet and we need to take care of both.
Living in Denmark you sometimes forget to appreciate our rich history and nature, though I have been to most of these places. Egeborg castle at the beginning also houses a museum with veteran cars. At the moment we have lots of snow (and I do love winter with lots of snow) but often our winters are more just rainy and windy which is quite dreary. But something I really appreciate is how the seasons shift in Denmark winter, spring, summer and autumn each have their charm. In the summer we enjoy our long summer nights - but again the summer isn't always sunny like in these videos. Denmark is a really safe place - I've sometimes forgotten my bag in a restaurant, at the library or somewhere else - it's always there when I get back (that said of cause there's still crime, but the crime rate is very low compared to most of the world).
I live in Helsingør (Elsinore) where Kronborg Castle is placed. It's absolutely stunning. At night (some parts of the year) they illuminate the entire castle from the outside. Driving by is breathtaking 🤗
I realy dont know much about modern Denmark. But for me, a fan of Tolkien, so naturaly also a fan of mythology and archeology Denmark is one of important places on the map of my 'maius patriae' (greater homeland) - Europe :) After my land, Poland, after Ireland, UK, and Greece its another place which I like for its ancient history and mythology. So Denmark for me is associated with Chronicle of Leire ("Chronicon Lethrense"), is a recording of folklore about pre-Christian Danish kings and the adventure stories that were eventually associated with them. Then there is "Gesta Danorum" (Deeds of the Danes) chronicle by Saxo Grammaticus and one of its heroes - Amleth is prototype of Sheakspear's Hamlet (he also pretends madness to discover usurpation of his father's throne by his uncle), and another one of this chronicle's heroes is important viking leader Ragnar Lothbrok (when I read about him he was showed in history books as historical leader, but now it seems that historians think of him rather as a legendary person, even though his sons were leaders of the Great Heathen Army invading England). Then there are few legendary Danish kings whose names were Frotho and this name J.R.R.Tolkien used as the name of one of his heroes - Frodo. Though the name Frotho is probably one of eponimic names of Freyr - one of 3 main gods of Norsemen (vikings) - Odin, Thor and Freyr. Then there are also some connections between Denmark and England as their languages got mutual origins and the Angles, Saxons, Jutes and Danes were neighbours in the area of Denmark, and north Germany before Angles and Saxons migrated to Britain and started Anglosaxon kingdoms which eventualy made English kingdom. The Scyldings (OE Scyldingas) or Skjǫldungs (ON Skjǫldungar), both meaning "descendants of Scyld/Skjǫldr", were, according to legends, a clan or dynasty of Danish kings, that in its time conquered and ruled Denmark and Sweden together with part of England, Ireland and North Germany. Scyldings as Danish leaders have huge role in "Beowulf" which is an Old English epic poem in the tradition of Germanic heroic legend consisting of 3,182 alliterative lines. It is one of the most important and most often translated works of Old English literature. The date of composition is a matter of contention among scholars; the only certain dating is for the manuscript, which was produced between 975 and 1025. But we also know that the story could be created about 6th century as the historic persons from 5th and 6th century appear in the text of the poem. The story is set in pagan Scandinavia in the 6th century. Beowulf, a hero of the Geats (who lived in Sweden), comes to the aid of Hrothgar, the king of the Danes (Denmark), whose mead hall Heorot has been under attack by the monster Grendel for twelve years. After Beowulf slays him Grendel's mother takes revenge and is in turn defeated. Victorious Beowulf goes home to Geatland and becomes king of the Geats. Fifty years later, Beowulf defeats a dragon, but is mortally wounded in the battle. After his death his attendants cremate his body and erect a barrow on a headland in his memory. According to Anglo-Saxon legends recounted in "Widsith" poem and other sources the earliest ancestor of Scyldings was a culture-hero named Sceaf (Sheaf) who was washed ashore as a child in an empty boat bearing a sheaf of wheat. It is probably a mythological explaining of how the people there invented or were learned of agriculture. According to English chronicler William of Malmesbury ("Gesta regum Anglorum") Sceaf was later chosen as King of the Angles reigning from Schleswig. Which is in modern day a region bordering between Denmark and Germany. According to tradition it was the region from where came the Angles - later English. Interestingly the English and Danish people had been sharing the same very old customs most importantly a spring holiday for first ploughing in the season which was celebrated in very similar way in England and Denmark up to 19-20th century. Then there was one of invasions on England known as the Great Heathen Army - mostly Denmark's vikings. The Great Heathen Army, also known as the Viking Great Army was a coalition of vikings warriors who invaded England in AD 865. Since the late 8th century, the Vikings[b] had been engaging in raids on centres of wealth, such as monasteries. The Great Heathen Army was much larger and aimed to conquer and occupy the four kingdoms of East Anglia, Northumbria, Mercia and Wessex. The Danelaw (Danish Law) was the part of England in which the laws of the Danes held sway and dominated those of the Anglo-Saxons. The areas that constituted the Danelaw lie in northern and eastern England long occupied by Danes and other Norsemen. And of course there was also Cnut the Great Canute (or Cnut) who became undisputed King of England in 1016. During his reign, Canute also became King of Denmark and Norway so overlord of a big empire called the empire of the North Sea. Canute was son of Danish prince Sweyn Forkbeard and Sigrid Storråda (also known as Gunhild) who was probably daughter of Mieszko (Meshko) I prince of Poles and so she was sister of Boleslav I, first king of Poland. Then of course Denmark is associated with Hans Christian Andersen - great Danish author of amazing fairy tales. And last but not least Denmark is associated with variety of delicious butter cakes which are popular in Poland during Christmas season :)

Hi, if you plan a trip to Denmark, you are very welcome, we would love a visit, and can put you up, and show you around. Best regards from Djursland Denmark
THIS. I love the danish summers, but i HATE the winter. Its so dark, cold, wet and windy. You get winter-depression so easily and you're much more tired all the time. If there is ONE thing i dont like about Denmark, its our climate. Sure we dont really have natural disasters - thats a huge plus. But we also rarely get sunny days - at least not many in a row and almost only in summer.
9:45 the half underground zig zag thing in the middle, is an old ship dry dock, for building ships, if I don't remember wrong is was for warship. (the zig zag part is a new building, a museum i think) And all the water channels, with the triangle "Islands" are part of the castles defensive structure. Made for maximizing cross fire at the walls, so that a potential enemy could not reach a wall without being in the line of fire, from at least one, nearly always more positions. I hope that explained what you were asking 🇩🇰😊
I'm from Denmark, and veil our 4 weather seasons have nice color shift's, and it is beautiful with a white Christmas! I hate the cold, and love the summer time, and i actually think true summertime is to short!😆
You can feel the soul of the people that used to live int he cities before you. and when the city has houses that are hundreds of years old, those souls leave a mark. the peace is real. its the same with the Ocean. The ocean has an old soul, one of patience and calm. and it has rubbed off on the people up heere.
A "fun" fact ... unlike anywhere else outside the Nordic countries, we do not have any stray or street dogs or cats in the cities of Denmark. They are all taken care of, like it is with humans, so like with the "cleanliness" you mentioned, there are also no dogs or cats suffering in the streets. We do have to understand though, that wild birds and animals do suffer a terrible life with no shelter and no free health care, which mean that they suffer and die in the wild nature when they get sick.
@@Sigart ... I live in the outskirts of the 2nd largest city in Denmark, and yes, 50 years ago you could find street cats in the largest cities of Denmark, but I dare you to spot any today, and even where I now live, in the outskirts, we have none. Sure in the country side around farms you find all kinds of stray animal including cats, but I would rather call them outdoor cats, because they are still being taken care of.
@@agffans5725 I work at a vet clinic in inner Copenhagen. You're right that far the majority of stray cats are out in the country side, but they still exist in towns and cities. And I guess you could say they're being taken care of, for a given value of that. There are definitely people that will put food out and do something, if they see those cats very ill, but it's not like a house cat with regular flea treatments or anything like that.
@@Sigart We have stray cats in Esbjerg though i [ and my friends ] consider myself as one of those crazy catladies😂😂who always seem to attract all the strays in my part of town and when i´ve half tamed them i get them fixed / chipped and registred in my name over the years i´ve been to the vet so many times that i now have a discount agreement with the clinic . I always say -- you dont get a cat it´s the cat that chooses you as it´s servent 🤣🤣

just remember to put your purse in the front pocket of your trousers, and put your camera and phone in bag bag or pocket when not used. we do have pickpockets here.... especially in the night life and at the tourist hotspots.
Thank you or your reactions. It was very interesting. One major error in the video you watched: it is almost 200 years since a Danish king was last annointed.
I've always felt blessed being born and raised in Denmark 🇩🇰 as I take the bus or go on the bike, beautiful buildings always impress me ❤ although a lot of the new architecture is glass and steel, but that just represents this age in time.. but the historical places always amaze me- personnally I think they left out "Hammershus" in Bornholm and the "watchers", but we could go on, about places to see and visit here 😂❤ Thank you for romanticing our country, although you still have to watch out for pickpockets, as people come from other countries to rob us and our wealthy tourists 😅
We live in a small country, with a lot of adventures to be had and lots of places to explore. Come and visit us, if you ever get the chance 😊 I love your reactions whenever you see a beach, you are so adorable. 😁🤗 We don't think much about it because the ocean is everywhere. In Denmark you are never more than an hour's drive away from the sea 😅
I’m danish and prefer when it’s 30C˚ or more! But your faces rally made me appreciate my country. I wish I was rich (there are poorer people here as well) and could invite you here! I live relatively near to Egeskov castle and Odense 🙂
When it comes to Copenhagen, you can find a Hotel outside of the city or BnB. Also a way to save some money is to buy at least one or two meals in the grocery store, bread and cold cuts and so on.
It was very interesting to see your reaction and get your perspective! Good work :) As for what it feels like to live in the old buildings... I wouldn't personally know, but it comes with a lot of restrictions for how to repair or improve. Since a lot of them is considered worth preserving for their historic value, legally, you're not allowed to insulate or do improvements that would interfere with that.. Greetings from Denmark
You look VERY surprised... :) I love living in Denmark, and I think he didn't even show some of the best things/places like Amalienborg and the royal family, Frilandsmuseet and places in Sønderjylland, just to name a few. You should stop by if you get the chance...
Yes, some of the (in)famous Danish companies are: Maersk - A shipping and logistics company, carries out approximately 10 % of the entire world's transportation by ships. The LEGO Group - Produces toys for children consisting of small plastic bricks. Novo Nordisk - A pharmaceutical company.
I think most videos focus too much of Copenhagen. Its a nice town and with a lot of tourist attractions. I just feel we have so much more in Denmark and its cool to focus on spme of these too.. Ive been at all places in the video and at lest 10-15 other places Ill call at same level. A fun fact : In some places (like the old town of Ribe) the state has branded different buildings as "worthy to restore". If you buy one of these you a not allowed to do huge changes.. you can maintain and change a window etc but has to look similar to earlier. Its w expensive because a lot of things needs to be produced as 1 psc to fit - but if you own a building like that, the taxation is lower, so somehow the state helps a bit financially to keep the old city parts in good shape

I've seen better beaches and much more prettier castles! This was an act. Those two were impressed with very usual and mediocre things... I don't buy it!
Don't believe everything you hear about Denmark. You do have to warch your values carefully, especially in the cities in the summertime. There're plenty og pick pockets - mostly Romanians. And there're places, that you shouldn't go at night. We allways hear, that it's such a safe place, but that's only true, if you compare it to Chicago or Sao Paolo.
Denmark is among the safest countries and Copenhagen rank as one of the safest capitals in the world-that dose not mean no crime ever happens and yes there are foreign pick pockets in tourist area in the summer
@@veronicajensen7690 True, but I just don't want people to think, that you can leave your wallet on your doorstep and expect to find it there the next morning. 9:45 the half underground zig zag thing in the middle, is an old ship dry dock, for building ships, if I don't remember wrong is was for warship. (the zig zag part is a new building, a museum i think)
And all the water channels, with the triangle "Islands" are part of the castles defensive structure. Made for maximizing cross fire at the walls, so that a potential enemy could not reach a wall without being in the line of fire, from at least one, nearly always more positions.
I hope that explained what you were asking 🇩🇰😊
As a danish person i was so happy to see your faces seeing our beautiful land , please come visit you will never forget us again
Respekt to Brazil...From Denmark..
everyone can have this if they start working together ;)
We have about 500.000 wild cats in Denmark, some of them are in cities. Just, fyi.
@@mettesrensen6116 That is really good work! Wow!
Portugal has places and buildings like that? And Brazil also! Why the hell are you flabbergasted?!?!!??!?!
Brazil is a *very big* country.
I hope you can visit Europe some day. Thanks for your insightful video, it really brings out the contrast between lives across countries. I wish you all the best. Much love from Denmark ❤
I have been waiting for this. Love your langues but dont understand a word.
Please react to "The Insane Scale of Europe’s New Mega-Tunnel".
The tunnel from Germany to Denmark.
Just to be precise. The tunnel are between Denmark and Germany and are built by the Danes. contracted by the Danish state.
I'm not to happy with that tunnel. The pay booth area will be right in the middle of my family's farm on my dads side. Not my familys anymore, but still 😂
The white lines you saw at Kronborg castle is a seafare and marine museum built in a part of the harbour a former dry dock
I love seeing your reaction when you're watching what there are here in Denmark. Im from Denmark, and live here😊. And Ribe(city name) is not a long name as you can see😉, the speaker was just trying to pronounce it I guess hehe. Thank you for your nice words, and nice channel. greetings from Denmark 😁
Olá & greetings from Copenhagen Denmark. Really enjoyed your reaction to this video. Best wishes from CPH, DK )
we have a beautiful old and clean country, and unfortunately we often take that for granted
Vocês parecem um casal muito legal, reações divertidas, oi da Dinamarca
It is so hard to believe as Finnish, nordic, or western European, how diffrent life could be,
You need to take a look at Soenderborg in the Baltic aea. Or Blåvand, Rømø....its not all about Jutland Copenhagen or the northen part of Denmark, we got amazing places all over our little kingdom.
just remember to put your purse in the front pocket of your trousers, and put your camera and phone in bag bag or pocket when not used. we do have pickpockets here.... especially in the night life and at the tourist hotspots.
Thank you or your reactions. It was very interesting.
One major error in the video you watched: it is almost 200 years since a Danish king was last annointed.
Yes, today they are only proclaimed by the prime minister.
Anywhere in Denmark you are always near the sea. The furthest from the sea is 40 km.
Besides the fact, that two seas, dont actually meet at Skagen (its all part of the world-ocean), they got it somewhat right here.
I thought they meant that the ocean currents can collide.
I've always felt blessed being born and raised in Denmark 🇩🇰 as I take the bus or go on the bike, beautiful buildings always impress me ❤ although a lot of the new architecture is glass and steel, but that just represents this age in time.. but the historical places always amaze me- personnally I think they left out "Hammershus" in Bornholm and the "watchers", but we could go on, about places to see and visit here 😂❤
Thank you for romanticing our country, although you still have to watch out for pickpockets, as people come from other countries to rob us and our wealthy tourists 😅
The castel at nr.9, i walk through that every day on my way to work 🙂 Frederiksborg castel
We live in a small country, with a lot of adventures to be had and lots of places to explore. Come and visit us, if you ever get the chance 😊
I love your reactions whenever you see a beach, you are so adorable. 😁🤗 We don't think much about it because the ocean is everywhere. In Denmark you are never more than an hour's drive away from the sea 😅
That boat you see in the start of nr.5 kronborn is the royale families boat
I’m danish and prefer when it’s 30C˚ or more!
But your faces rally made me appreciate my country. I wish I was rich (there are poorer people here as well) and could invite you here!
I live relatively near to Egeskov castle and Odense 🙂
Love all the nice words you have to say❤
Greetings from Aalborg❤
When it comes to Copenhagen, you can find a Hotel outside of the city or BnB. Also a way to save some money is to buy at least one or two meals in the grocery store, bread and cold cuts and so on.
Frederiksborg castle is featured in the Netflix mega-hit Money Heist season 2
It was very interesting to see your reaction and get your perspective! Good work :)
As for what it feels like to live in the old buildings... I wouldn't personally know, but it comes with a lot of restrictions for how to repair or improve. Since a lot of them is considered worth preserving for their historic value, legally, you're not allowed to insulate or do improvements that would interfere with that..
Greetings from Denmark
Olso see Den Gamle By in Aarhus, and Hjerl Hede. To see haw people livet back in time , in cities and on the country. ❤ jbp
Come visit. You will love it.
You look VERY surprised... :) I love living in Denmark, and I think he didn't even show some of the best things/places like Amalienborg and the royal family, Frilandsmuseet and places in Sønderjylland, just to name a few. You should stop by if you get the chance...
Denmark is one of the richest countries. I've heard that it has about 100 of their own global corporations, their own trademarks, brands.
Yes, some of the (in)famous Danish companies are:
Maersk - A shipping and logistics company, carries out approximately 10 % of the entire world's transportation by ships.
The LEGO Group - Produces toys for children consisting of small plastic bricks.
Novo Nordisk - A pharmaceutical company.
Im from Denmark and bro, Why are they so “:OOOOO” When they see a Beach xD
16:04 To answer your question, it's lovely, I hope you get to visit some day, I'd love to show you two around
Olá, sou da Dinamarca, nasci e cresci em Copenhague.
Its w
expensive because a lot of things needs to be produced as 1 psc to fit - but if you own a building like that, the taxation is lower, so somehow the state helps a bit financially to keep the old city parts in good shape
this thing with not carrying phones and cameras openly is something incomprehensible for me :) As in Europe we have tousands of turists.
No, we don't like the cold!!!
By the way Ayrton Senna is one of, if not my biggest inspiration! I saw his last race and never watched another F1 race. I am still one of his biggest fans.
AS A DANE , 2nd on the list - RIBE /// The 1st or 3rd pronouncement i would give a pass :)
We have hundreds of medieval castles and churches from 11th - 16th century, but it's nothing compared to Germany.
Come visit us..we will find out!
Watching you both, amazing is'nt it.
Greetz
Denmark and especially Copenhagen did not look like this in the 1980'ies.. It was grim and worn down..
Gudhjem, God home.
i live on bornholm
Becareful you dont swallow a fly😂😂😂😂
He is an English speaking person so he finds the name hard to pronounce. Ribe ... there is only one correct way to say it 😀
do Brasil?
¿Sois portugueses o brasileiros? No domino los acentos (sotaques) en portugués. ¿Cómo es que os consideráis del tercer mundo, "3rd World People"? ¿Será porque vivís en las favelas de Sāo Paulo, o siquiera Angola de África?
They didn't introduce theirselves as 3rd world. The guy who posted the video added the caption. Personally, I find Denmark very boring and ugly country.
We allways hear, that it's such a safe place,
but that's only true, if you compare it to Chicago or Sao Paolo.
Many videos about Denmark made by foreigners seem to overdo the safety aspect. In the last 20 years we've had increasing gang problems, and they don't seem to go away.
Luckily we're not Sweden.
Hi u2. Come to denmark ❤u can stay my place for free 👍i show you copenhagen and more. Love from michael
