I read where Jacques Anquetil had the ability to take a 15 minute nap anytime he wanted. The studies have suggested that your body will secrete a hormone in such a short sleep that will greatly aid in recovery. He won a lot of Tours de France that way. Yeah it’s bro science but there could be something to the “power nap”.

I don’t count calories but I did for a month a few years ago. I highly encourage people to do that at least for a week to get a real sense of what your intaking. I thought I was doing one serving of cereal until I measured and counted and realized my serving size is actually 3x what it should be.

I watched Durianriders vlog which I never do. Just like any video there are good points and bad ones. Physical and mental burn out from long periods of over doing it is becoming a topic because it happens to even the most fit. Listen to TrainerRoad talk about it on last weeks pocast. If you've never had it happen to you, understand you can go from the best fitness of your life to feeling like a wet noodle for weeks, overnight. Once it happens you have to spend time off the bike to recoup when had you just followed a plan you could keep on a steady progression of your fitness. Time will tell on what VC will encounter at the end of this and I'm sure he'll be up front about it.
