The female contestants kits are absolutely fab, the English version took on this approach in 1996 although not all contestants went with it which was a shame
Just for the record, in UK Series 2 (the first to have Joust), there were 2 contender wins and 4 Gladiator wins, in addition to 14 draws. In UK Series 3, there was 1 Gladiator win (this was when the contender landed awkwardly on her back). In the first International Gladiators, there were two Gladiator wins, both by the British Trojan (though his second one was almost a draw). In UK Series 4, all four Jousts were draws. And I know in Aussie Series 3, there was one contender loss (that being the future Mr. Delta).
15:25 If you play it at 0.25 Speed & pause it right, it does look like The Challenger landed on the crash mat before VULCAN meaning it was the right decision Although a number of us would've wanted it to be 5 POINTS or a Rematch
Injury I would say as hammer and predator are also in the opener to and don't play given pyramid is also on hammer would have played if fit one would think so I'd say due to injury
They both hit the floor at the same time so he gets 0 points. Mike Whitney was really harsh on the contenders in terms of scoring points. John Coyle in the UK revival was pretty bad as well by removing all contender points if they broke the rules once on Hit and Run. It takes away some of the fun from the game, people are mixed on John Anderson but he was usually pretty lenient with contenders with some exceptions(MARK MOTTRAM)
Or at least do a re-match, just like they did on Suspension Bridge in the Team Sports Final, when both the challenger and Tower fell off the bridge at exactly the same time.
Didn’t help that the Australian version made it a 60 second game (as opposed to 30 seconds in the UK version). I’m surprised the Australian version picked up joust to be honest as it had just been dumped by the UK version because it resulted in too many draws (but it also meant they were able to ship the game from the UK to use in Australia). The only good thing about the game was that they used the Pole Axe music for the game.
Joust using the Pole Axe/Breakthrough & Conquer theme and Skytrak using Tilt's them
Last show for Kimberly and ref Mike

47:20 It was a good call by the referee, you not allowed to use your legs on the Static Section of The Travelator to help you get to the top
Almost Every Single Game of JOUST always seems to end in a Draw, both in the UK Version & Australian Version

And the pole axe theme
By the way, when Mike Whitney was out, Andrew Halliday took Neil Waldron’s travelator position.
the navy guy just set a new aus record on skytrack

I was expect both the Army & Navy to score a few more points overall especially as they were competing in teams of 2
The Challengers with average everyday jobs have done better than the Army & Navy in these specials!
I was surprised how terrible the Army and Navy contenders were - especially as one of the Navy contenders was a precious challenger!
Why was Blade at the start, but then didn't compete - especially as there was hang tough this episode.

I would declared the VULCAN Battle for JOUST a Draw & 5 POINTS for The Challenger

Draws are ruled in favor of the gladiator in Australia up to series 4 (2008)
Joust just wasn't a good game.
It had been retired from the UK version due to its lack of popularity, and then shipped out to be used in Australia.
@@Brucetiki1 and apparently the joust theme was used in pole axe in the uk and breakthrough&conquer in the us
They tried to make joust exciting, I can tell you it was far from it. Worst game ever

@@Brucetiki1 The reality was the injury to Rachel Culwick that dumped Joust.
@@Brucetiki1 the music was also used for breakthrough & conquer in the us revisions
