Obviously we're going to find out what to do with the M4 a month from now. Most likely we will be able to take advantage of the greatly improved Neural Engine for on-device LLM processing, making Siri vastly better and adding various capabilities for image processing etc.
@@ruschein well let’s put it this way. I don’t think I’m going to buy one until I see WWDC 24. It better blow me away or I’m not upgrading from my 2018 Pro.
3:39 Apple doesn't manufacture its own displays. For Apple's devices with Retina displays, such as iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks, the displays are typically manufactured by companies like Samsung, LG Display, and Sharp, among others. Apple tends to source displays from multiple suppliers to ensure a stable supply chain and to meet the demand for its products.
My 2018 iPad Pro 12.9 died a few weeks ago and I wanted to wait until today to decide what to replace;ace it with. I suspect my display died because over the years, it got bent in my bag. So when I saw how thin the new pro is, I decided just to order the 13' air instead. It is mainly a UA-cam consumption device anyway. I have a MacBook Pro for anything serious.
It is more powerful than a macbook, you could in theory run photoshop and other apps at the same time. But apple does not want to allow that cause it will affect macbook sales
@@jcestela but still i don't get it. Even if macbook sales going down but ipad sales will going up. The money still their. So whats the problem? Even more they could've been raise the price a little bit higher because ipad could do more and more money for them.

Ordered 13"/512 with keyboard... definitely excited as I have two people wanting to buy my M1 Pro 11" for more than Apple would give me trade in, win/win! Curious to see what they were alluding too about iPad OS at WWDC as well!
My initial thought is to use this as an opportunity to upgrade my M1 5th Gen iPad Air 64GB to one that is an M2 so a bit faster and after living with my current for a few years I can buy more storage. while still keeping my current accessories which should still fit.
Nice to see the IBM t-shirt getting an outing. I have my original one stuffed in a bag in the attic waiting for me to become 50lbs lighter - sadly, it’s never gonna happen!
I went ahead and ordered the 13" iPad Pro 2TB model without that nano screen. When I saw it, I didn't feel like it was better for me. I also ordered the Magic Keyboard and pencil Pro. I am coming from a 2020 11" iPad Pro with the A12Z Bionic. So this will be a nice upgrade IMO. Especially since this iPad I've been using has a bad battery drain and the screen size is too small now. I will be moving to a 13" iPad and a 16" Macbook Pro. MBP will be next.
im really curious to know how the battery life is on the new pros considering they're so thin. i'm already less than impressed by the battery life on my 12.9 m2 pro, i can't imagine this is any better
It's time for me to upgrade finally. I'm glad they skipped the M3 with it's security flaws, too. My iPad Pro still is running an A series chip before they got the real power boosts, so I can only imagine how much more powerful and fast it will feel for me.
I just ordered the 13” iPad Pro with 2TB, along with the new pencil and magic keyboard. I am upgrading from the 12.9” M2 iPad Pro. I love the iPad lineup, for media consumption and portability. Macbook Pros are still the best from productivity.
What they really need is a new “magic” keyboard that’s more like a headless MacBook Pro. When it iPad Pro is attached it displays full MacOS. When it iPad is removed, it goes back to iPad OS. I have yet to fully max out my iPad Pro, M2. I run logic what a ton of plug-ins and software instruments without breaking a single sweat! What surprised me when ordering the iPad. When i ordered the M1 iPad Pro back in 2021? There was a long wait if we didn’t order at the right time. There was high demand for that better display etc But the iPad Pro M4, it still says available may 15. I’m a bit surprised
@@dhanushrithick that’s what it said when I placed my order (and when I checked it again couple hours later). Back with the iPad Pro M1, people who pre ordered just couple hours after order time had wait times of 1-2 months. Kinda similar with the iPhone pro last year

Changes everything for the worse…. Two versions of the M4 chip where you have to buy a 1TB and above to get the full version. Missing camera ultra wide… Not using cameras on the Pro, yet Apple wants you to use the Pro to make movies with their new app…😳…Timmy! Battery capacity, heat dissipation, less powerful chip for thinnest… Need a new Pencil and keyboard despite already having one from the last generation. iPad Air is more mainstream and casting it aside for niche artists and musicians…😳 Where’s the Mini, Timmy?
it’s sad that it’s already in M4 series but still can’t do programming apps. like it would really make the iPad pro better if it can run other programming apps like VS code rather than just having Swift Playground
11 inch is $899 w/education discount. It’s pretty damn impressive for that price. This is Apple’s best hardware they sell and probably the best value (if you don’t go crazy)
Very good for the environment if you have to buy all new accessories, even if the old ones still work perfectly. What's particularly annoying is that this isn't a hardware issue, it's just a software restriction to boost sales. Basically, it's not worth upgrading if you don't use it professionally.
Why did they call the new screen ultra and the pencil pro? It feels like they’re leaving room for a pencil ultra? I can’t believe I just spent $2000 on a 256 but I wanted the pencil and the keyboard.
I wasn't surprised about anything other than that the M4 has hardware accelerated ray tracing(which everyone is overlooking). this is going to change everything for macs
I bought my 1st iPad Pro for last Christmas, despite knowing a new one was about to come out. I’m glad I purchased the Pro M2. I use it for Logic iPad, and have thrown everything at it without a hitch! Tons of audio tracks and plugins, AU3 instruments with a buffer size of 64 on a shitty Gen 1 Focusrite scarlet 2i2. The only way I would upgrade to this is if Apple finally allows native apple silicon apps. I was kind of hoping that with the new Magic Keyboard, it will turn the iPad into a fully blown MacBook pro when docked. Seems like a missed opportunity. Also, if they made the new pencil backwards compatible with existing iPad Pro’s with the new features, they would be killing it. But, we can all wish..
Only problem with this iPad is that it has a mobile operating system, iPadOS. If they would just put the MacOS on it, it would be the perfect computer.

Well on the bright side, due to Apple increasing the Student discount on the new iPad Pros to $100 off (as opposed to $50 in the past) AND doubling the base storage to 256GB now... I am fortunately getting the new OLED model for only $50 more than I had ordered the last gen model for last Fall (and ultimately ended up cancelling to wait it out for the next product announcement, heck yeah right call lol). Here's my math: 2022 iPad Pro 11" w/ 256GB @ $899 - $50 Student Discount = $849 -vs.- 2024 iPad Pro 11" w/256GB @ $999 - $100 Student Discount = $899 So at least I lucked out there, just having to pay $50 more and lost that extra Ultrawide Camera on the back lol.
So exciting- mostly for what it could mean for the M4 MacBook pros. Is OLED a possibility? They made a point to stats how the screen is driven by a dedicated section of the M4 chip- which I assume will also be i in the new MacBooks. FINALLY increasing base storage? And with M4 iPads being out, it gives more weight to the rumors that M4 Macs will be out sooner than later. Also- 120gb bandwidth on the base M4, so the pro should also improve. All good things. Would be great if MacBook Pro could start with 24gb ram, since apple is increasing storage. Also looks like M4 isn’t a huge power increase- as the comparisons were to M2, and it was like 50% more powerful.. meaning it’s likely a small 20% increase over M3 pro, plus the AI engine.
I know the iPad is not for everyone, but for artists like me, it is the single best product Apple has ever made. And these new iPad Pros will finally get me to upgrade my beloved 2018 iPad Pro. @@ryanmanning5348 Well, as i said. Thinner bezels and a slightly thicker case for a better battery life.
Just missing MagSafe charging! Oh well!
All products starting at $999 in the US cost $1199 here in Europe 😭
Yes it is only money 🤷🏼♂️ I just ordered the 13 inch pro …😊
5:03 how does the Apple M4 chip compare to Nvidia chip for AI?
It does not change anything at all
I love how Greg said a 25% price increase is a “little increase.” Credit to Apple Marketing team to get us to not focus on price.
Starting price is fair bit higher, but if we compare the 256gb model directly from m2 iPad Pro, it's a $100 bump.
@@GregsGadgets true, now a m4 iPad Pro with a keyboard costs more than an entry level m3 pro MacBook Pro.
I am excited about the m4 MacBook pros coming in weighing 1/4 pound less and they won’t be as chunky hopefully. I feel the screen will be as thin as the m1 MBa.
If it was a 25% price decrease, then what? You probably won’t buy one anyway so what’s the point?
Every tech UA-cam video that will come out on this event will be loaded with Apple rhetoric, whether it’s the hosts or commenters.
Still 8gb ram
@@timbukstu9861why are you lying?
I’m glad you came out with your thoughts early. Too often UA-cam tech channels are nothing more than a “tech bro” echo chamber. It amazes me how often tech reviewers depend on a few channels to give them content, then they ALL start saying the same thing, no matter how ridiculous. The Verge, Max tech, Snazzy, drops then watch how many videos will repeat. I think Marquez does his later to avoid the lemmings.
Does the nano texture matter if you’re just using it for content consumption?
not worth it if you don't need 1TB
@@user-dm6it9in8c so will the display still be ok without it?
@@Chitown84 Yes, nano is the reflection blocker. It can only be worse than the regular version in terms of color and resolution. Nano can't be better in color; it's only better for blocking reflections. If u want the best color looking possible then don’t get nano. (But Apple do good job on nano compared to other brand, it’s just pricy)
Hey the Cellular version of the new pro and air iPads...is eSim everywhere in the world!! The iphone is only esim in USA... Does this mean iphone with be esim only world wide soon?? That would make me so Sad. I cherish having both sim and esim.
iw as really hoping for a larger format, something between the old ipad pro, and the samsung tab S9 ultra. getting closesr to the 16:9 aspect ratio would be so much better for video content and gaming
On thing to watch out for - with Tandem OLED, if it develops a burn in, instead of that pixel going ‘blah’, it might look dull for that pixel since there are technically two pixels for each. Interesting to see
Seemless data switching on dual sims now ?
Greg, maybe you'd simply like the OLED touchscreen on a MacBook Pro? Trying to make this do all your Mac apps won't work for many reasons.
Honestly, I was kind of disappointed. I mean it’s nice that we got OLED but what are we gonna really do with the M4? It’s beyond overkill. Also it still has the same bezels as before it is stupid thin design. I don’t care about how thin it is, I care about battery life.
It better blow me away or I’m not upgrading from my 2018 Pro.
play deathstranding or resident evil, already runs well on my M1 iPad Pro
M4 gives better battery life than an M2 so an advantage already.

Please do some research
Wish I could get excited, but I guess it will keep the ipad crowd happy. How will this M4 compare with the base M3 chip and other variants.
Will it work with old magnetic apple pencil?
No, you’ll gave to get the pro pen
Wondering if they'll bring that OLED screen to the 14" MacBook? They should be able to do a 14" at least if they can do the 13.
the new ipad pro's are so impressive !
but, WHY doesn't the second gen apple pencil work on it ???
The coil is moved due to the camera
Because you will have to buy the new one.
Because Money
@@Gilfordd they would actually make more money if they WOULD allow it to work on it.
The nano glass option does not seem to be available on the Space Black iPad Pro with Wifi + Cellular and 512 GB model.
It’s only available on 1TB & 2TB models.
The option is only available starting at the 1TB model.
@@ruschein I said that first.

@@davidjacobs6244 I didn't see your reply when I wrote mine. But, hey, you can take all the credit! 😆
As an artist. All I really wanna see on an IPad Pro is the ability to fully run photoshop on it. Maybe this M4 can finally make that possible?
It is more powerful than a macbook, you could in theory run photoshop and other apps at the same time. But apple does not want to allow that cause it will affect macbook sales
@@jcestela great point 😭
My m1 can
@@jcestela but still i don't get it. Even if macbook sales going down but ipad sales will going up. The money still their. So whats the problem? Even more they could've been raise the price a little bit higher because ipad could do more and more money for them.
This m4 won’t make it possible because it’s not possible in IPad OS it’s not the chips that are restricting Photoshop it’s apples software deliberately restricting it
Ordered 13"/512 with keyboard... definitely excited as I have two people wanting to buy my M1 Pro 11" for more than Apple would give me trade in, win/win! Curious to see what they were alluding too about iPad OS at WWDC as well!
I love the brightness, i have to wonder how this thing can avoid burn in.
this has 4x the brightness of the best OLED TV or gaming monitor
Can't wait to use this for drawing and painting on.
It’s not out yet lol
im really curious to know how the battery life is on the new pros considering they're so thin. i'm already less than impressed by the battery life on my 12.9 m2 pro, i can't imagine this is any better

I haven’t tried any heavy video editing, but LumaFusion makes quick work out of 4k editing
What surprised me when ordering the iPad.
When i ordered the M1 iPad Pro back in 2021? There was a long wait if we didn’t order at the right time. There was high demand for that better display etc
But the iPad Pro M4, it still says available may 15. I’m a bit surprised
That's mean we get on hand may 15th?
@@dhanushrithick that’s what it said when I placed my order (and when I checked it again couple hours later).
Back with the iPad Pro M1, people who pre ordered just couple hours after order time had wait times of 1-2 months. Kinda similar with the iPhone pro last year
I’ll hang on to my 12.9” M1 iPad Pro for now. Still amazing screen. Maybe if reviews are say it’s incredible and it doesn’t bend or break after Zach gets his hands on it. I don’t see a reason to upgrade for what basically a content consumption device.
Tandem OLED is actually an industry standard term, hence why it is not called something stupid like Ultra Fusion OLED
10 cores are only unlocked if you buy the 1tb and up tablet.
Love my M2 !2.9. I’ve had for over a year! No problems!
I own a 2018 iPad Pro and it’s starting to show its age. I’ll definitely be saving for this one.
Changes everything for the worse….
Two versions of the M4 chip where you have to buy a 1TB and above to get the full version.
Missing camera ultra wide…
Not using cameras on the Pro, yet Apple wants you to use the Pro to make movies with their new app…😳…Timmy!
Battery capacity, heat dissipation, less powerful chip for thinnest…
Need a new Pencil and keyboard despite already having one from the last generation.
iPad Air is more mainstream and casting it aside for niche artists and musicians…😳
Where’s the Mini, Timmy?
Sadly iPadOS is holding the device back.
So what’s so special about Dex on Samsung? It’s still not windows.
it’s sad that it’s already in M4 series but still can’t do programming apps. like it would really make the iPad pro better if it can run other programming apps like VS code rather than just having Swift Playground
mentioned price 84000 but when i am going to purchase it its price is showing high,
tell me the reason.
Yes same think, it's showing ₹99600, just we take look
11 inch is $899 w/education discount. It’s pretty damn impressive for that price. This is Apple’s best hardware they sell and probably the best value (if you don’t go crazy)
Let’s hope they put a single layer OLED in the iPad mini 7 and allow it to run Stage Manager.
I am buying an ipad pro but trading in my old ipad 2021 and my macbook air m1. Will be looking at doing everything on ipad pro moving forward.
Anyone explain please, 11inch actual price is ₹84000 right, but it's showing ₹99600, why?!
Why don't you just buy a laptop lmao. It an iPad that has exclusive apps to do 3d rendering, sculpting and animation that no other iPad can run
@@_Meme_lord_1 I have a laptop lmao. It's a Macbook Air. It does not have a touchscreen. Maybe ask questions before demeaning people, makes you look less dense.
@@_Meme_lord_1Apple should have done something similar to Samsung by having a desktop version of iPad os when docked. iPad Pro is a media consumption device for majority of its users which is unacceptable given its price point.
@@mikecleveland7453Yeah! Tell 'em!
@@mikecleveland7453 So why do want a desktop OS on something meant to be an iPad. They are already adding every useful apps on pc to the OS which works smoothly.
Just the change for the camera to landscape mode is enough of a change for me. Even though I now have to spend $2,600 and $700 for the ipad and keyboard 😢 still worth an upgrade for me as this is integral in my business now
Well on the bright side, due to Apple increasing the Student discount on the new iPad Pros to $100 off (as opposed to $50 in the past) AND doubling the base storage to 256GB now... I am fortunately getting the new OLED model for only $50 more than I had ordered the last gen model for last Fall (and ultimately ended up cancelling to wait it out for the next product announcement, heck yeah right call lol).
Here's my math: 2022 iPad Pro 11" w/ 256GB @ $899 - $50 Student Discount = $849 -vs.- 2024 iPad Pro 11" w/256GB @ $999 - $100 Student Discount = $899
So at least I lucked out there, just having to pay $50 more and lost that extra Ultrawide Camera on the back lol.
Missed opportunity to shrink the bezels
The nano texture is a $500 upgrade. Because you have to get a minimum of one terabyte storage. Plus an additional $100 for the nano glass. Ridiculous.
Don’t get it then stop whining like a crybaby 😂
I wonder if the nano textured display will make the Apple Pencil feel more like writing on paper?
Good point about having the same durability as prior iPads 😬
I know the iPad is not for everyone, but for artists like me, it is the single best product Apple has ever made. And these new iPad Pros will finally get me to upgrade my beloved 2018 iPad Pro. Not only is it the best digital sketchbook I have ever used, it has totally replaced my laptop for all my needs. For me it is the best content creation & media consumption device out there. The only bummer about this event was that no iPad mini was announced as well. I like to take an iPad mini with me when I wanna travel light.
