I still have some notepads and a great big ELAN paperweight which was given to me at the time....Sad that it is no longer there.... that was my first network installation!!
I used to work there in the computer department when they had an ICL-ME29 and an ICL-2904. Was responsible for both mainframes. Sue Mosley was the boss at the time in the computer department.
east lance paper mill shifted on pakistan on 2005 and start the production in 2009. i instal his drive system(Optical fiber based SACDA LINK System) by eurathrem drives. i am electrical engineer in this mill. East Lance name changed its new name AL-KARAM Paper MILLS
Hi Blackpool Dancer What was your Dads name? My Dad worked there all his working life as well, he may well have known him. He worked there from about 1950ish to 1992. The Mill was demolished a couple of years ago. All the lodges filled in. Just flat land there now. Cricket ground still there though. Building a school on it eventually.
I worked there as a sheet carrier in 1973. It was a vast place. It’s quite amazing that there’s nothing left.
It is such a shame that we are losing our Industries, it looked to be very forward thinking in the video. Thanks for sharing the video.
