Thank you so much for the whole license process, now I know exactly where to go and what to do. Much more informative than numerous textual guides on the web :D
Wow. The bus from CMB to Matara played songs of Ajith Muthukumarana. Sri Lankans busses often play songs of Ajith and often times the general public call Ajith Muthukumarana, "Bus Ajith." Those songs are known as "Bus Songs." Enjoy the ride brother.
I have seen some of you videos, will go through all the Sri Lanka videos one by one as time permits. Your videos are very clear, what is the camera you were using. Where are you from, I am originally from Sri Lanka (now living in Canada), if you get a chance, please do a video of my hometown of Kurunegala.
Rohan, thank you for the kind words. I use Sony FDR-X3000. I will be in Sri Lanka in June and I will visit Colombo, Jaffna and Trincomalee. So, new videos will be added to Sri Lanka playlist. All accomodations were previously booked, so, I am limited in the places which I can visit in Sri Lanka.
My friend, Sri lanka has many travel options. You could have used the intercity AC bus some go through expressway. Please don't get tortured on regular bus.
I have returned from Colombo to Unawatuna yesterday by "Tangalle-Colombo" bus. It cost only 230 rupees, it is very nice price, because 230 rupees = 1.4 USD.
@@TheLastTraveller thanks for the quick answer 👍 I think that's a good sign :) I assume the certificate is needed to prove one does not have any disabilities and can drive with no special equipment. Or it is needed only for locals. I'll let you know how it went for me
@@ReDetection_public If foreigner wants to receive the local driver license, there is no need to have any medical certificates because you have your own driver license. They just make copy of your categories from your driver license to the local document. The fact that you have the driver license means that your are eligible to receive the local license in Sri Lanka. The whole procedure is more like a formality. No additional categories are available (others than you have in your own driver license), the dates of a local document are restricted by your visa.
@@TheLastTraveller yep, you are right. Got my temporary license with no medical certificate. Just a couple of bw copies of the passport, the license, the visa, 1000 Rs and about a couple of hours waiting times in the queues. Pretty straightforward process :)

Excuse me, did you have a medical certificate with you or it was just a passport, your local driving license and a visa?
I didn't have any medical certificate with me in Sri Lanka, but it was in 2018, pre-corona time.

"a couple of hours" - it is good, but it was shorter in my visits. I was there twice and the process in the queues took only 1 hour or less each time.
Please let us know what you honestly think about your driving experience in Sri Lanka. And your suggestions to improve it.
I like to drive a motorbike in Sri Lanka. Drivers here are both kind and polite.
