cheap, fast, AWESOME! I love it. Ethereum is like a ... some 10 y.o. ditched code and Bitcoin is like some ancient artifact that's just rare and antique. Waiting for transaction 10 minutes? WUT?!?!
Just getting back into crypto since the last bull run, Polygon, Solana, Avax and Cosmos have really come a long way. Polygons development maybe the most impressive out of all of them, only time will tell. I got a feeling Polygon comes out on top. Thanks for the video
POL tokens can be migrated at a 1:1 ratio from existing MATIC tokens by using a migration contract. This means that anyone who holds MATIC tokens can send MATIC tokens to the migration contract and will receive the same amount of POL tokens. There is no reduction in the token supply.Nov 23, 2023
I like the concept and tech, but not a fan of a project this mature completely changing its tokenomics. They are effectively increasing and uncapping the max supply in order to incentivize liquidity. This is not something I would want to see if I was a matic holder. I also get the impression that polygon labs is somewhat unpredictable, pivoting in their roadmap and plans a lot more than other projects. I think it will work out eventually because of the tech, but it is unfortunate that loyal polygon users/investors will be diluted in the process.
Do you know if we need to do anything to change over our MATIC to POL? Is all automated with no user participation? If not, can we count on exchanges to do the work for us?
Each centralized exchange will have its own way to deal with the migration...so refer to your exchange. If you have your tokens on the ETH mainnet, then you will use a migration tool, but better yet...if you have your tokens on the Polygon mainnet in a hotwallet, you won't need to do anything because they will migrate over automatically in September of 2024.

how decentralized would it be? i dont know how decentralized is the current polygon when coincarp rich list shows over 91% of token supply is in 1 wallet
Hi all, Could someone please explain what the actual impact to token holders will be? If someone if holding MATIC on Polygon Layer in a cold wallet? If someone if holding Wrapped ETH or BTC tokens on Polygon Layer in a cold wallet? What actions do we need to take? I think this is where the real value information is for 99% of token holders / viewers right now.
In the Polygon 2.0 whitepaper, it says that a centralized exchange should perform the transition from MATIC to POL automatically, but if you hold MATIC on a self-custody wallet, you'd need to manually transition it. Some comments have detailed that process. My question is, why wouldn't you just send your MATIC to Coinbase for a little bit, and have it automatically transition the token, then send it back to your wallet??
I have no idea what you are talking about. I have mattic or polygon? Sitting about it's on the eth network. I haven't changed it to matic network?? Still in my wallet though. I think I'm just going to go back to eth. This is too much.
So let me get this straight.Polygon will now have 3 chains all together now.Polygon P.O.S...Polygon zkEVM and Polygon Validium.Question..does that mean developers or myself which own tokens ( not MATIC ) for example under Polygon P.O.S need to move it to Polygon Validium ? Thanks in advance for answering.
@@Mackymcd well, seems like a fair, and obvious question. This video covered the POS upgrade but didn't cover this point which most MATIC holders would be interested in.
I think the 20% increase in token supply will create inflation to the ecosystem. Where a major of blockchain is working toward token deflation, Polygon seems to do the opposite by increasing token inflation. Maybe Mr. Sandeep Nailwal thinks it is a good idea to join Jerome Powell to create money printing machine in the crypto space.
Yes. Both of the zkEVM chains will rely on eth for validating zkproofs. But the POS-upgraded zkEVM will also rely on eth for data availability (storing txn data) whereas validium will not.
Not impress with Matic increasing 20% token supply and possibly more if needed. Not impressed with this scheme, no wonder Matic token price is stagnating against other protocols.
Yeah because when you look at matic purely for fiat profit it's an issue.....if you actually look at their expansion they will need these extra tokens to keep things running and secure.
I believe so...but only 1 will rise above. It is about UI and using the token without knowing it. CKB token Nervos Network works in the background of all UXTO chains and you never even know you are using it. So several chains are like Cosmos...so the UI experience for developers and users alike is what will make one token stand out. Security is one last factor. Nervos does not use bridges like cosmos and Polygon...therefore Nervos is 1 security step above them all. Nervos has more adoption in Asia right now...but that can change in an instant because institutions/companies and protocols are whom make the switch...not the community. Like I said...the end user does not even know they are using it.
Gas fees and congestion, etherium can only do few transactions per second compared to polygon and other layer 2s doing thousands with ease , hope this helps
It’s based as a layer 2 on etherium so unless another layer 1 tech was available to migrate too, this relies on etherium a future , the question is will etherium or solana be the king in 5 years, buying polygon places your bet with etherium

This is an absolutely amazing video. Big thanks for creating it!
Thank you - this the best explanation on this topic by a MILE!
Excuse my ignorance, but do I have to swap my matic tokens on the exchange or will them be automatically updated to POL?

@@thechanelchannel2494 Any idea where to go to find the migration contract and when it might be avalible?
@@thechanelchannel2494 any tutorial on where and how to do it would be highly appreciated.
What about USDT and other tokens stored in a MATIC wallet?
Good video! Can POL will be staked directly in Polygon instead of Ethereum?
I believe you would be a "validator" if on the POL network. Receiving 1% of the inflation over the 10 years.
Can anyone explain whats Bitcoin ?
thanks. q: if I have matic tokens on hot wallet, not CEX, should I do somehting for the conversion or maybe move my toekns to some CEX instead?

do we have to migrate our matic to pol? will matic still exist after migration? and what price is pol going to have?
Why Matic price still not pump 😢
no buyer and to much hype.
Because they are creating token inflation by adding another 20% of Matic (Poly) token to the existing supply.
@@justinchhun3262 how often are they doing it?
Are we still pushing price action instaead of technology in 2024 for crytpo?

I saw an interview from the founder of Polygon on Coin Bureau and he said POL will be used for the entire ecosystem on all chains.
Thanks for the information ❤
wouldve been nice to know how to migrate matic to POL

Can anyone explain the Bitcoin ETFs in a simplest form.
A fund buys Bitcoin. You can buy shares/equity in the fund. That simple.
Great video!
I hope the guys at Polygon are aware of the fact that "Endgame" is a name which gives room for all kinds of sarcastic comments

Polygon to the moon
Token POL TOP 3!

Would polygon still depend on Eth?
Yes. Both of the zkEVM chains will rely on eth for validating zkproofs. But the POS-upgraded zkEVM will also rely on eth for data availability (storing txn data) whereas validium will not.

It’s polygon.
Why is polygon operating 3 chains. Seems unnecessary and offputing.
