Awe she is so cute! Thanks for this video, it gives us an idea of what to expect when we go. I'm not bringing a child to Ollivanders, but I will be going with my husband, who like me, is a total kid at heart!!! i'm so excited!!!
I know this is probably against the norm but with knowing what the wands are made of I would recommend that the staff not pick children, simply because 1 Since the Harry potter books came out in 1998 a lot of its fans are older, 2 the wands are expensive and made of resin. while they make a great collectors item they are fragile and not to be played with like toys.
True, but the reason why they pick children is typically because children are easier targets. What I mean is, once the child has been picked with their "chosen" wand, the kids will insist to their parents that they need the wand because they are destined with the wand. Therefore, not wanting to "upset" their kids, they buy the wand to make the child happy. Not only that, but children are also easier cause they believe in the magic more than teens and adults. So they think the magic is real while the adults will tend to know its fake (even though some know, but still want to pretend). It's another reason why children are selected and you can use the wands actually in the park with some displays, if you buy the interactive wands that is. So it can be used like a toy in that sense. Otherwise I agree with you to an extent in that its more of a collector's item or prop and isn't meant to be whacking around things, be thrown, ect.
@hilarymytton What a beautiful daughter you have! I could not hold back the tears, her passion was really great almost like harry when he got his first wand.
I went last march and the park wasn't opened yet until may Your had to either wait 6 hrs with a reservation or go at night I went a night and it was fun
i got the elders wand the guy said it was for me but they asked me for 100 dollars to get it so i gave them 100 dollars and now i have the elders wand the strongest wand of all AND I AM THE ONLY ONE TO HAVE IT!

I would love that job. Even repetitive as it might be after a while. Just making all those kids smile would make it worthwhile.

I'm almost 11... and I'm gonna go to the wizarding world of Harry Potter for my 11th birthday... I hope...
