BRAVO ! VERY EMOTIONAL DEAR WONDERFUL TENOR ! VERY BEAUTIFUL PERFORMANCE ! HUGE THANKS FOR THE ALL THIS BEAUTY ! HEART GREETINGS FROM BULGARIA - SOFIA - EUROPE
I saw his Boheme debut @ the Met this past season. He may be handsome and over-hyped(that's show biz) but he more than lived up to expectations. A beautiful lyric and surprisingly big voice with 2 BEAUTIFUL unforced hi-C's and passionately involved (though slightly hyper, ala Villazon), acting. I'm looking forward to his return to the Met. Should have a great career.
Not sure about rock, but he is a rising star in opera. Has is singing leading roles in top opera theaters. He was singing the duke in Italian tv movie Rigoletto filmed on location in Mantua which was shown on PBS earlier this year. PBS has the full video on their website, a really beautiful movie and he is great in it. If you are interested, google "PBS Great Performances Rigoletto video" - no registration required.

I'm teaching myself Italian, and basically the only word I understand is 'una' (one-I hope). But this music is still beautiful, even if it is in a language I don't fully understand.
One of the most moving and beautiful versions I have ever heard, but I agree with writer Antoinette Thompson - this needs to be reposted with the ending intact. It ruined the presentation with the ending missing. Other than that, heavenly!

@mascagny YES he is!!! I palpiti, i palpiti sentir, confondere i miei coi suoi sospir...Cielo! Si può morir!!!! This is one of my favorite arias, I auditioned with this at Seattle Opera and am now contracted with them for the next 2 yrs so yes I definitely noticed that he missed that phrase, not sure if I like him, he strains a lot, might be because its early but he doesn't seem to have that great of a voice.
Not quite. There's Joseph Calleja, Piotr Becsala, Juan Diego Florez, and Lawrence Brownlee, who are far above him in experience and technique. But he has a true Italianate leggero sound, and that's nothing too shabby.
@bubbaq Probably cut to fit into the time allotted for the segment. I noticed him look at the accompanist to be sure he was with him on the change. I think alot of the "strain" is his attempt at drama, which is my only dislike. Of course, he really can't help the over dramatization after studying w/ Domingo! I'm loving the voice, the technique, the diction; and of course, the Italian sound. Grigolo's voice has matured and will continue to do so for awhile bringing more richness. Not the
I agree about Calleja - Florez's version is indeed sensitive; could be likened to Jose Carreras in his prime but doesn't have the passion of Grigolo. Beczala is ordinary and Brownlee is indeed different!
I like his voice, he sings with loads of emotion! But, (oh come on, don't tell me you didn't sense a "but" coming, ha!) I have a problem with his breath control; the audible breaths are distracting! Perhaps he picked up the habit during his time in "crossover".
This guy is nice looking, but he took so many risks singing this aria, since 9 years ago when you wrote this comment i haven't heard a better recording. Cheers
No matter what others say him, I’m in love with his passion, voice and attitude. So vivid and eloquent! I love him!!!
One of my favorite songs! And e does it with such clarity and purity in his voice.
I love the way he always stays in the lighter range of his voice.
Never goes down, although he goes lower....he stays in the pitch....I adore this.
he is simply magnificent ,eye candy ,great intensity in his voice and actions I am enamoured, many thanks for up-load x
Magnificent voice!
Gives the requisite goosebumps at "M'ama! ...." and "Cielo! ...." Thumbs up.
Stunning rendition!
Bellooo❤️

Mille grazie! E una bellissima giornata.
Such sensitive singing and with passion.
De la vieja escuela italiana... Como Cura y Vargas... sencillamente fabuloso!! :3

Sei Il numero uno!!!
Love you 4ever
Gran sentimiento, un gran interprete y tenor
GRANDE VITTORIO GRIGOLO
This young man is a rock star! Love his lyric tenor! And he is singing on DWTS tomorrow night, hopefully in a duet with Jackie Evancho.
so super!!!!!
Bellissimo pezzo e meravigliosa interpretazione caro Vittorio Grigolo ♦ Grazie e Complimenti!! @ Un affettuoso saluto!! ♥
I love the lyric singing the best.
Easily the best operatic tenor of today.
Bellisimo, Bravo Vittorio
I noticed the messed up words but great way too come back without showng it :)
Amazing...
Bravissimo !!
This guy makes Mario Lanza sound like a polished tenor.
Of anders , zo mooi dank u .
awesome!
the guy's gorgeous
Very good:) Reminds me so much of another tenor from the late 80's & 90's(I'm sure he's still singing' 2day)Richard Leech:)
Vittorio must be the best tenor in the world at the moment - I love his quiet tones.
Bravo!
bella....la musica...molto bella.....
@rsgracey of course they would. I mean, wow, what a voice! not just anyone can sing like that! amazing....I LOVE his voice!

Very good
@escamillion you're so right, I had to sing it to the end myself for this reason (and it's 3 am, hope my neighbours have a good sleep)
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻💯💯💯
yes : it was ''i palpiti i palpiti sentir'' but he did a good job!

@kda340 The GMA people at ABC cut it off because Vittorio went overtime with his singing. Not the videographer's fault.
It would be nice yea but it is also interesting that he handled it pretty well, once he realized that he messed up :)

@TheWisemonkey8 He doesn't use microphones in opera houses. But, of course, when recording, you need some recording device...
@arcot9 well it is good MORNING america...cut em a break at 7 AM
@rsgracey They did Pava, even at his heaviest! Something about that hot-blooded Italian sensuality that makes "looks" secondary!
no comment.
Ha sbagliato il testo
that's true
Urs buhler
Its me or he change the order of the text?
He botched " Plapiti e palpiti sentir" and sang "che piu cercando io vo" twice.
@TheWisemonkey8 Catty. He knows what he's doing up there, and it's not channeling Nemorino.
Meraviglioso!!! Great voce!!!

VIttorio is AMAZING. Dios mio
Can somebody post this performance with the last note intact

What happens to i palpiti, i palpiti sentir?
Not bad, Aside from the fact that he forgot part of the lyrics @ 2:08-2:25

Try the young bel canto trained treble - Louis-Alexander Desire - puts all Libera boys into a shade.(French father and English mother)
Geez guys.. 'let's lay into the jet lagged guy 2 hours off a plane from Paris...'
Adolfo Rey
si , :)
@rsgracey I guess that's true to a certain degree, but, um...consider Pavarotti? No offence against the maestro, of course.
excelente, pero la última nota!!!!!!!!!!
exactly!!!! I hate that people love crap like this.
Sente o que interpreta.
One more example of how the "looks" are a requirement for success. It's a lovely voice, but would anyone pay attention if he weren't handsome, too?
This guy is nice looking, but he took so many risks singing this aria, since 9 years ago when you wrote this comment i haven't heard a better recording. Cheers

Ma chi è questo cane?
I really need to hear him without the microphone. He really overstylizes. It is kind of insulting.
It's more interesting listing to my cat meowing than this overly hammed up poor excuse for a tenor, and I don't even have a cat.
OVERRATED AS HELL
Amazing.
Amazingly...Bad!
