Formula DRIFT Black Magic PRO Championship resulted in a heavyweight showdown in Irwindale CA in front of a capacity crowd.
The 2019 AutoZone Title Fight presented by Rain-X promised to be a slugfest, with five drivers having a mathematical chance to win 2019 Formula DRIFT Black Magic PRO Championship - James Deane (Ireland), Fredric Aasbo (Norway), Piotr Wiecek (Poland), Aurimas “Odi” Bakchis (Lithuania) and Chris Forsberg (USA). And with six championship titles already held by three of those contenders, nobody could take it easy.
Looking back to 2018, the title fight was equally close, and Irwindale brought us one of the most exciting Finals, with Vaughn Gittin Jr (USA) battling through the heats to win, narrowly beating Fredric Aasbo after running One More Time on two occasions to separate them. But Deane, who was knocked out in the Top 16 heats by Forrest Wang (USA), clinched the title by four points from Aasbo.
Arriving at the Irwindale 2019 Finals, Deane had a 19-point lead, but with a 20-point difference between first and second place, and extra points available for qualifying, Aasbo and the three drivers below him in the Championship would need Deane to be eliminated early to have a realistic chance.

0:27 “toughest competition we’ve ever seen”
Daigo Saito: Freddy u sure??? 2020 is callin
damn, 5500 views and the video is ... millions of view worth, amazing cinematography.
You're Back Welcome Back GTChannel
Normally the judges will always look on how well the drivers will do on the lead and chase runs and James deane has been very consistent in his chase runs and lead runs within the past three years since he came back to drift in the U.S. Now that a lot more Japanese Drivers are coming back to compete in the U.S. again such as Daigo Saito and more, there will be a lot more competition which will be fun to watch and see who wins it all for this season.
I have literally no idea how the judges saw that final run for Deane. Shocking they even opted for an OMT. His chase runs were .... yikes 🤔
I'm almost certain the fact that on all of Forrest Wang's lead runs he was left foot braking and stalling the entire time on the first bank which is an accel zone. Looks like he was intentionally stalling imo.
@@getzitin94 pretty sure he was trying to get james to mess up. Basically cheating
When the judges have your back! No worries brah!
Welcome back GTC!!
Much respect from everyone here at Vikingbags!
James should of lost cause their was NO ANGLE
Nice to see some content ! 👍🏻
I was thinking Odi would get the win but aye 2020 here!!
Wang had it imo 👍
Forrest wang vs. James deane, Wang should've got that Win in the first battle, James deane has the Proximity but not have the angle in the chase, Wang has the angle but Doesn't have the Proximity in chase, and in Lead run, they did a Great job, it was a Chaseable run but idk why judges Call it omt and James deane won
LMAO, Even tho james and forrest went omt, judges will always Choose James deane, that one more time doesn't matter, JUDGES WILL ALWAYS CHOOSE James Deane (I'm not James and Forrest's fan)
Lmao formula D became a joke. Judges are very biased.
