To not accept your daughter is one thing, but to do what This lady did to Kenya is Despicable.
Her mother might've had post partum or a mental break...
Yes that's the problem for me. Just unnecessary cruel.
@@Beyondme7700 for me something else happened, how is she looking at her mother and saying “ I don’t have a child, i never had a child” especially when she had that baby at so young age. I’m thinking she wanted to abort and her mother didn’t allow it , idk 🤷🏾♀️ but something happened
@@juscelinefernandes3674that could be true which could result in a mental break. Everyone is different and as child who saw mental illness change my mother drastically, I understand that most people really have no clue on how something won’t affect one person and traumatize the next.
At least Kenya's mom didn't switch up and suddenly fell in love with her when she became famous! Normally, ppl have a change of heart when fame and money enter the picture
When Kenya said she is a good wife and will be a great wife in her next marriage. I felt that. I wish the best for her! 💐💕
🙏🥰
🙏🏾🙏🏾
I do too 🙏🏾
Me too
Me too. She’s the housewife I really root for - I want her to thrive in all parts of her life.
Wow this interview was EVERYTHING, when she said No One Fought For Me, it broke my heart, she was a kid smh
Into a million pieces. I felt that as well because I have battles with my mother.
Cut to my soul. I know that pain.
Absolutely. Even as an “adult” when she went to visit her mother, that was a child wanting her mother. So even then, she should’ve been protected and stood up for.
This hurt, especially because I was an adopted child and NO ONE ever fought for me either.
She is one of the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen in my entire life. The bone structure, the eyes, the skin tone. She is just drop dead stunning!
My only problem is the nose job I wish she kept her old nose so we can see gods creation
@@princessme2023 gods not real, but she is.
🎯👌🏾💯
Her relationship with her mother is what caused her to say she never wanted a daughter, EVER. Fast forward and now she has received her biggest blessing in Brooklyn - she has an opportunity to mother her daughter the way she would have wanted. It’s truly beautiful.
And the beautiful thing is she does. There’s a BIG difference between Kenya and Kandi. I love Kandi but I see how she can leave her kids at home in comparison to Kenya bringing Brooklyn to most of their excursions and we rarely see her on camera. Kenya will book a separate room for herself, Brooklyn, and a nanny and will be on the phone with her baby throughout RHOA events. She doesn’t let her daughter out of her sight. I just love to see that
She has a beautiful relationship with her daughter!
That doesn't necessarily make her a better mother than Kandi. She does give her daughter what she didn't have which is love, attention and acknowledgement. Different mother paths and patterns. Don't compare motherhood.
BS.
Reminds me of ”it ends with me”, that book about breaking generational trauma or whatever, love to see it!
Hearing about Kenya's mother is sheer proof that sometimes Mothers are a daughters first bully in life. I'm so glad Kenya has risen from all the hurt and disappointment of her past. She deserves all the success in life.
Her daughter broke the curse. Her little girl adores Kenya 😊
you can tell kenya is very kind and more human than most of the housewives. she just plays her part on reality tv to make a good show and people forget that.
She plays it a little too hard sometimes. Her antics in season 5 were very obnoxious, flirting with Phaedra’s husband, picking fights and mocking Porsha and Cynthia before they even knew who she was. Putting her butt up against Peter. Arrogance in only season one while begging after any man that had a pulse, like Walter. Ugh! Then she wonders why everyone was against her at the season 5 reunion and thinks of her as a villain.
@@Tonetarewasn’t that literally a decade ago? 🫤
@@Tonetarealso the way that she treated Kim Fields and her husband was ridiculous. Kim didn’t do anything to her! She was just plain ole mean and evil to her for no reason. She never made things right with her and the rumor about her husband. Seems she forgot that part.

😂😂😂😂😂😂
The way she still tears up talking about things in her past regarding her mother is heartbreaking. Thats a pain no matter how old you get, you still remember and it hurts just like the first time
You never get over something like that..Your parents are supose to be your 1st loves..
There is no sense in romanticizing parenthood when the reality is billions of people are parents. AND most of them have been doing a BAD job for centuries. AND mediocre, deadbeat, and diabolical parents don't care because they receive the same pat on the back as the good parents.
How could you not 🤯
@@lesliejordan8929 Especially if your mom looks you dead in the eyes and says she never had you and that she'll dog you out every chance she gets. That would stick with me for life. Who TF says such a vulgar thing to a child, let alone, their own damn child?!
You would think it would cause her to be more empathetic and kind
Nene, Porsha and Kenya are and were the true stars of real housewives point blank period… This was a great interview and I’m glad Kenya got to share her story.
And they need to be back
For season 16 sweet 16! OR Carlos gotta come up with some’
Kandi too. Kandi just isn't a shit starter. Those four are the show. The either obesity can come and go🙂.

Kenya Summer Moore is beautiful inside out! She very intelligent, witty, funny and the shade Queen! Kenya definitely took RHOA to the next level. Their ratings doubled after Kenya and Porsha got on the show. The show ratings also declined 2 seasons before Nene left the show. It was going downhill regardless if Nene was still on or not. Everything in life has its phase. Rhoa is going through a phase and Bravo needs to clean house and just Keep Kandi and Kenya and bring in 4 Brand new women with personalities who can keep up with both Kandi and Kenya!!!
Kenya needed this interview so people can see her in a different light. I poorly judged her based on the show. But now! She all good in my book. She even gave NeNe credit.
No she don't people see what the want to see only people who choice to see people without judging them based on not being followers instead having their own minds.

I paused this interview to switch over to watch the night that Kenya won Miss USA. All these decades later, and she is just as beautiful, graceful, gracious, grateful, intelligent and articulate. However, today she has graduated from a Queen to an Empress. Love, love, love this interview.
Yessss.
Oh, what a kind, thoughtful, and beautiful comment. I wish she could see it. I enjoyed the interview as well.🩷
Everyone in the United States of America have to admit Kenya Moore made history when she showed-up and showed-out winning Miss USA 👑
She is literally a part of civil rights history.
She was the first Black Woman I was old enough to remember watching on TV win a paegent. She will always be my fav!
I think Kenya would do great with her own spin-off and also a talk show!
She should have her own UA-cam show where she discusses different topics with a sidekick.
She would make such an amazing talk show host!!! She is just a natural and soooooo gorgeous!
@@supermansmomAgreed.
Nobody ever protected/ defended her (except Brandon who tried); coming from all the way in S5. She's a better person than most of us.
We'd be bitter; couldn't walk a mile in her shoes.
You deserve all your flowers Ms. Moore 💐 💐💐
I disagree. Cynthia protected Kenya too. The real question is who did she need protection from? I think Kenya needs protection from her goofy thoughts. Whenever her brain tells her "I am having fun at someone else's expense" that is when trouble ALWAYS happens so she needs therapy to cancel those goofy thoughts that translate into provoking people to attack her.
Lies - her father
@@cjking4511 Cynthia didn't protect her at all it was always the other way around, Cynthia most of time threw her under the bus when certain people were around.
Kenya was the reason why I started watching RHOA. She was never a villain to me she was the star of the show. I am happy that Carols was able to show Kenya in a light that I’ve seen since she stepped on the show. I’m happy to see her get her flowers and be recognized as the star of RHOA by Nene. Twirl on Kenya, Bravo doesn’t deserve you.
I disagree. She started out her tenure on the show picking fights with Porsha upon meeting her with no apparent reason, flirting with Phaedra’s husband, hating on Cynthia for no apparent reason and making a fool of herself begging after Mark.

Every story has 3 sides: Kenya's, the mother, what really happened. I was in kenya's boat, and felt same way. But 30 years past and I finally learned the truth. It hurt worse than the lie. I wish today I would have left sleeping dogs lie. Pain is so great.

I never thought Kenya was a mean person. I think Kenya knows what she has to give to keep her spot on the show. Because everyone says outside of the show she is a sweetheart and beautiful person
I don't know what he meant by that comment
She is... I saw her in person and she's a one of a kind... so sweet and down to earth... ❤
If you’re watching rhoa through another lens then you can definitely see who Kenya has been since day one! Team twirl
Me either. I thought she was a vulnerable lovely woman.
That’s a fact.
I absolutely needed to see this. This interview just made me feel even more secure with my feelings that i hate when people say “oh god here goes kenya bout her mama” “get tf over it your 40 something” ect. When youre a woman who grew up with this kind of dynamic with your mother it literally defines such a big part of you. Your core values & life lessons that build you into the woman you’ll be are sculpted forever by this. & when ever i bring up my experience w my mother that was like this its not to “gain sympathy” or “make excuses for my actions” i feel that im explaining this so that you can better understand me which helps the other person understand why i am the way i am. & that’s exactly how i feel about kenya and why i go so hard for her. She is HER 👑
Sending you lots of love and compassion and I hope you know that you are worthy of love, support, warmth, affection and compassion. I don’t think I’ve ever felt a genuine love or loyalty from my mom and I’m almost 31 so I completely understand the angst of this unfortunate dynamic. Praying for all of us ♥️
Everybody needs an excuse for their bad behavior
@@BlessedAlways1130 you really missed the point huh? Its not excusing the behavior its giving a someone an understanding on the “why” of why thats my/hers/your reaction.
Which is actually one of the main parts of healthy communication in arguments. Is understanding both parties perspectives. But it starts escalating when people have petty ass responses like this.

My mum was also a sick demented bitch, so women like Kenya who achieved despite of that, despite of not only not having been mothered, but also having been horrendously abused by their sick progenitors, really inspire me to achieve too, and to be a great, beautiful mother to a daughter some day, if that’s supposed to be.

Yeah it would be epic
This interview was everything. Kenya understands the assignment always and gave what needs to be given. I’ve liked her more and more since she’s been on Speak On It.
First time I saw Kenya was on Wendy Williams. She is the reason I watch RHOA. Gorgeous! Intelligent and sweet
Kenya's childhood is really the epitome of " set up to fail" But she was like " no way I'm fighting and I'm fighting hard" Her success and relationship with Brooklyn will always make me #TeamKenya🎉
Carlos you are a natural at interviews!
When you listen to Kenya's story, you understand why she carries herself the way she does. Her reads are undeniable but they are spot on.
I notice how her story starts before Housewives but Nenes literally revolves around the Housewives.
I'm praying that God continues to bless Kenya. This interview was deep. I cried so much hearing her story.
When Kenya still refers to her birth mom as mother and refers to herself as a child, even when she went to her house on the show, it just breaks my heart. A part of her can never heal because of the damage her mom caused 😢
The bond between a mother and a child is unbreakable so in those rare instances when it’s irretrievably broken, it’s a shock to the (child) system because it’s like their safe space has been taken from them. Very unfortunate.
I wouldn't say get over cause you'll never going to over momma but I think just my opinion only I think she's perfect as a momma I mean not having an example she lights. Up when she's around Brooklyn I live when I. get a chance to see it it makes me feel like Christmas cause I. Can just feel the love she gets from her little one god bless them both of them
This. You caught it too . Typically people are stuck at the age of their trauma, so Kenya is sadly a child still and will call herself one in reference to her mom whereas people who haven’t experienced childhood trauma even though they are a child in the mommy child relationship, both parties are aware the child is now an adult
@@user-me2io4ni7zI love Kenya and Brooke’s relationship. I wish they would show it more.
It broke my heart as well😪 But the fact that she was able to push forward & accomplish so much speaks volumes to her true character. Love her for that😍 #TeamTwirl
I have a 1st cousin who spent his whole life thinking he was my uncle, & so did the entire family. My grandmother raised him as her own son, bc his bio mom (my Gram's daughter) was a řäpə victim & only 12 when she had him. So it was a huge secret. FOR DECADES!
Now I'm in my 30s & he's 53, & we JUST found this out LAST YEAR, in April of 2022, at his mom's (my aunt) funeral. & to make matters worse, his father was an older family memeber too. This has Rocked our whole family's world!!!
After the funeral he took his wife, kids, & business & moved 5 states away from us & has never looked back or contacted anyone. I miss them terribly, he was my favorite "uncle," but I don't blame him 1 bit for dipping out. Imagine spending 52 years thinking ur mom was ur big sister, only to accidentally find out the truth, in front of everyone, AFTER she passed?!?!
Sorry for the novel. This space felt safe to share. Hopefully one day he can find peace & our family can mend. But I doubt we'll ever see him again, or know all the truths our family's elders took to the grave w them. It's in God's hands now. 😘✌🏾Love & Light to you all
I'll never "see" her the same way again. I'm embarrassed that I disliked her for what is "seen" but hearing her history makes her so relatable and respected because she SURVIVED the most horrendous abuse a girl can endure. Hang in there Kenya!

I truly appreciate Kenya’s vulnerability. Truly breaks my heart that any mother would literally and physically throw away their child. Mental illness is very real. Thank you for sharing.
From the first time I watched Kenya on RHOA I liked her. Since day 1 she understood the assignment because she knew that it was literally an assignment. She somehow managed to always straddle that fine line between being the "villain", but being likable and funny at the same time. When you've got the beauty, brains and emotional intelligence, you can really go places. Far and wide the best housewife to ever appear on any of the franchises.

This is totally false! Kenya Moore is a failure compared to others who were given the oppotunities she was given. (i.e. Vanessa Willliams) Kenya joined the housewife franchise as a last resort.

Me toooooo!
Kenya is STRONG even when she’s in her weakest moment. GOD BLESS HER IN JESUS NAME.
My daughter whose in her twenties look just like Kenya Moore. Just beautiful.
Kenya is so physically beautiful and her ability to express what she’s feeling is definitely not common among reality tv girlies. I never liked her on RHOA, but when she showed her going to her mothers house- that literally broke me apart
Yeah I agree because it's almost like you kind of understand why she acts the way she acts sometimes and why she so guarded
I don't like her on rhoa. But better outside of it
When people say “I don’t like Kenya” I laugh because all If not 98% of you SEE YOURSELF IN KENYA! How do you not like someone you’ve never met or don’t know. You can dislike her behavior on the show but to say “I don’t like a person I’ve never met or don’t know” is laughable.
Yea, I used to have a terrible relationship with my mother. It made me mean, hateful and bitter. It bothered me forever but now that we are good...life is better for me! I'm much more friendlier now!!❤🙏🏾

To be Miss USA! What an accomplishment for Black Women and to still trailblaze in beauty and looks. Yessss Queen😍
And Top 6 at Miss Universe with a USA sash on a chocolate stunning young woman from Detroit on the global stage. Kenya is kinda worldwide huh.
And brains!!!
FACTS!💯
@@stephenanderson1594top 6 wow! That's phenomenal 😊
@@chan2009ify I know I occasionally rewatch the pageants she won on UA-cam.
I have always thought that Kenya is such an authentic and unique person to look beyond the screen to really see her❤!
I just love Carlos. Your interviews are amazing. You bring out the real person in every interview.
Whew when Kenya said "No one ever fought for me. The child" ooooooo felt that.
Hearing what Kenya’s mom said to her as a child, reminded me of what my mom said to me……which was….”You ruined my life. I had so many dreams and YOU took it away from me.” It does stay with you and makes you resilient. Props to Kenya! The best revenge is to live your best damn life!
Let that go and let God🙏🏾, seriously if your mom is alive and years have passed, tell her how her words hurt you🤗. Please trust that your life is just as valuable as your mother 💞
SHE RUINED HER OWN LIFE WHEN SHE OPENED HER LEGS WITHOUT PROTECTION
You didn't bring yourself into this world.
@@Shaylamae No I didn’t. Thank you for saying what is so obvious!
Live your life girl!🥳🥳🥳💞
First of all “bravo” ….give her ha stuff!!!!🤨 Kenya is the star of RhoA!! That seat belongs to her!!🤬❤️ (I digress) I literally watched every second of this interview! Without skipping. Kenya draws u in with her beauty, her infectious laugh, her story, and her intelligence! Shes a Star!! She has been my favorite since her first season! I loved that Carlos and Kenya are friends it allowed Kenya to let her hair down and be as candid and sincere in a way I’ve never seen her!! Kudos to Carlos , Stunning interview!🔥🔥❤️❤️🔥🔥
My fav Kenya, God blessed her with the most beautiful gift in Brooklyn. I love watching her pour into her daughter and end the cycle.
People be so mad not realizing that this is a job , Kenya is always awesome, any interview with her is always great!! I love Summer..
Kenya’s laugh is infectious. I love it 😂😂😂
I have always loved Kenya. It sounds like her mom has some deeply rooted trauma around her pregnancy and childbirth. And, that is not Kenya’s burden to carry, so damn sad she experienced this. 😭
She is such a beautiful, intelligent woman.
Amen
This interview made me fall in love with Kenya I'm not gone lie 😍😍😍 beautifully done and of course we know Carlos is King his personality is so lively and fresh. Great interview
My heart broke for Kenya when she was talking about her mom. 😢 I wondered if her mom suffered from severe mental illness (I mean this as an observation NOT a pejorative) because HOW could anyone treat their child like that? I’m glad Kenya was able to excel the way she has despite all she’s been through, and that she has the courage to share her story. Kenya is such a beautiful soul. ❤
I think it’s somewhat of a cop out, we place the blame on her mom but it’s the entire family that enabled the behavior. The grandma took up for Kenya for the first tine at age 11-12?! That’s insane
My understanding is that her mom gave birth to her aa a young teen. The rejection may have to do with shame or the relationship between her parents.
lol you ate that "pejorative"! had to look that one up boo
Her mother never had another child. And it's said until this day she rarely leaves the house. Something definitely off with her. But at 70 years old she's not about to seek help.
At least her father apologized and tried to do better when Kenya reache out to him as an adult. He went on to have 2 more kids. He went on to have an actual life.
@@SaintlyTravelOmg please stop! Yall just misuse and overuse "ate" at this point.
Kenya is SOOO GORGEOUS! She is the prettiest housewife of all time. She is funny, beautiful, well spoken, has a GREAT soul, she gives everyone a fair shot, my husband loves her he thinks she is so funny.
Nene said Kenya was your favorite! You are literally lit up with Kenya on on another level lol. Nene was right! #favorite
I appreciate her good friend Brandon even more. Knowing she wasn’t being paid in the beginning, she only knew of a handful of ppl in ATL, and the way that man stood up for her multiple times and even physically fought for her and defended himself and hers honor in a room full of ppl against her. Kenya’s got some real ones around her and she should always cherish ppl like that.
I love Brandon for being such a true friend to Kenya. He’s my favourite man on the show, what a loyal, loving and protective soul❤
I just love me some Kenya Moore! Articulate, beautiful, and her laugh is so contagious! I pray God blesses her with another child or two because her and Brooklyn deserves it. Love and light to you Kenya.
Hearing Kenya talk about her mother and break down like broke my heart. I love my Kenya Summer Moore. Always have since the day she first graced our TV screens.
I love Kenya Moore. Since her first appearance on RHOA. I see so much of myself in her. Forever rooting for you Kenya🫶🏼
The fact that she approached Marc should have been her sign that he wasn't interested.
I REALLY love that NeNe and Kenya give each other their props still while shading
Right. Light shade.
I love seeing this side of Kenya. Vulnerable and down to earth and so open. I wish the show gave more opportunities for the women to show substance like this 💖
So good!!! I struggle with mother issues, but never anything on this level. This makes me feel so much for her.
Love Kenya from day, you couldn't tell me different. Huge fan all the way from Namibia, Africa 🇳🇦
