I remember at one point there were two different Phx Coyotes players out with broken feet at the same time...both from MacInnis slappers. Dude had a cannon.
His shot was insane. He literally broke Jocelyn Thibault's hand with it. And i can guarantee that he shot ALOT harder in games than in the skills competition. Some of the shots he took from center ice just went through the goalie.
Al MacInnis did not shoot that 100,4mph that night. That was his "hometown" where the All-Star game was played and he just came in, shot the puck and they just showed his old record and made that as a score to beat. He shot that 100,4 during his active years using a wooden stick. Not like these carbon fibre ones they are using today. They add almost 10mph to speed.
Pettersson has an absolute bomb for such a wispy kid. You should check out the video "6 minutes of Elias Pettersson Snipes" to see him unleash that shot in a game.
This year's All Star Weekend is in Las Vegas. According to legend, Al MacInnis perfected his Slapshot by shooting pucks at a barn door at his home in Inverness, Nova Scotia.🇨🇦
you should watch a highlight video of some "snipes" alot of them are shots like this scored from the blue line, also mixed in will be some wrist shots with just insane accuracy
Keep up the good job man!! At the all-star game they have a skill contest! The fastest skater, precision shooting and passing and some others! It's the best all star game/skill constest of the sports in america!
The announcers were talking about Petterson how he understands the stick better. Most of these guys are older and grew up playing with wood sticks and then switched to composite ones as they became the default choice for a stick. EP has never had to adjust and to a new stick material and has only used probably composite sticks. He understands how and where they flex to use that to his advantage
bro in game these guys hit like 120 and 130 mph cuz the puck is getting passed tho them instead of stopped still, and sometimes players get hit in the face by it
Sadly, Shea would lead his team (Montreal Canadiens) to the Stanley Cup Finals, losing to Tampa Bay 4-1 after which the Canadiens announced that he would miss the entire 21/22 season due to injuries that he sustained and played though during the season (and previous seasons) and playoffs. And that he may never play again!
Al Macinnis was a badass, I remember him showing up to a playoff game riding a harley, wearing nothing but cowboy boots and boxers, and smoking a cigarette.
Also, not sure if they mentioned it on any video you've seen but Seth Jones is the son of NBA player Popeye Jones. Seth's brother also plays in the NHL- they're teammates now in Chicago actually
I believe Al MacInnis broke at least one goalie's thumb with his slapshot. The goalie would try to make a save and the puck would hit the goalie's glove in the wrong spot.
Weber announced his retirement (or potential retirement..? not sure) just a couple days ago. man will definitely be missed. great calm and reliable D man.
It was announced he has to undergo surgery that could have him out most of the season if not all, and could **potentially** be career ending. Hoping for the best. Looked like something wasn't right in the playoffs.
The 1st player to compete in the competition was #3 Seth Jones from the Columbus Blue Jackets, as an NBA fan you may have heard of his dad Popeye Jones who played in the NBA for most of the 90's and is currently an assistant coach for Denver Nuggets
Weber has put the puck through the net. Not just into the net but through the netting. Now imagine him shooting like this on the one-timer. He has broken more than one person's hands and other bones who were hit by the puck.
My dumbass was covering the score smh my bad
Now imagine the guy who has to stand in front of those shots. Hockey; the coolest sport on Earth.
Al MacInnis, the guy that shot first, retired in 2004 and he used a wood stick not one of the new high tech composite ones. a legend.
Was going to point that out. MacInnis uses wood stick.
I remember at one point there were two different Phx Coyotes players out with broken feet at the same time...both from MacInnis slappers. Dude had a cannon.
I know right ? Imagine if he used a good stick. He'd have been way better
@@timd9467 Negative, Al tried the new composite sticks and went back to old faithful
His shot was insane. He literally broke Jocelyn Thibault's hand with it.

Some of the shots he took from center ice just went through the goalie.
Weber hit the puck so hard in Vancouver the puck went through the net and into the boards
Petterson looks like he's taking part in 'take your kid to work day' until he shoots the puck
🤣😂🤣😂
He looks like he's gonna set a trap for joe pesci and Daniel stern

10mph is definitely debatable
MacInnis actually shot slower with the composite sticks when they came out. Used sherwoods and Eastons.
@@jasonhackworth3502
It's just Al not being used to composite sticks.
Get him into the game now, in his prime. He'd shoot 110 to 115 easily.
I was there, seeing Petterson (the skinny guy) shoot that fast was CRAZY.
Pettersson has an absolute bomb for such a wispy kid. You should check out the video "6 minutes of Elias Pettersson Snipes" to see him unleash that shot in a game.

The Hardest Shot competition gets even scarier when you remember that Goalies and some players get hit with that kinda force
Now that u know how fast the puck goes u gotta watch nhl slapshot injuries
no joke theres one just of Webers shot hurting people lol 1 guy on Minnesota Blocked 3 of his shots in a row...3!!!
Keep up the good job man!! At the all-star game they have a skill contest! The fastest skater, precision shooting and passing and some others! It's the best all star game/skill constest of the sports in america!

Now, imagine standing in front of that shot and how that 6oz of frozen rubber feels like hitting you.
Ya.
Facts
bro in game these guys hit like 120 and 130 mph cuz the puck is getting passed tho them instead of stopped still, and sometimes players get hit in the face by it
There's no way that getting it fed to them is adding 20 to 30 mph
Sadly, Shea would lead his team (Montreal Canadiens) to the Stanley Cup Finals, losing to Tampa Bay 4-1 after which the Canadiens announced that he would miss the entire 21/22 season due to injuries that he sustained and played though during the season (and previous seasons) and playoffs. The man mountain! A true warrior and leader. He will be missed :(
Al Macinnis was a badass, I remember him showing up to a playoff game riding a harley, wearing nothing but cowboy boots and boxers, and smoking a cigarette.
MCGinnis hitting 100 mph with a wooden stick is unreal. Modern sticks generate a couple upticks on the radar gun because of their ability to flex.
*MacInnis.
There’s no way that was actually 100.4 lol I mean he did it legit back in the day but that was not it.
You should watch the Accuracy Challenge at the All Star game
AL HAD A SICK SHOT!
Idk if youll read this but ive known shea webber to break bones when he does his slap shot and people stop his puck
Also, not sure if they mentioned it on any video you've seen but Seth Jones is the son of NBA player Popeye Jones. Seth's brother also plays in the NHL- they're teammates now in Chicago actually
Remember in the game they’re trying to shoot it as hard as they can so it can get by the goalie.
I believe Al MacInnis broke at least one goalie's thumb with his slapshot. The goalie would try to make a save and the puck would hit the goalie's glove in the wrong spot.
Yup. Justin Thibault when he was goalie for.. the Hawks? Al shot it through the glove and broke Thibault's finger.

His dad is Popeye Jones?! what the heck I never knew that
@@BigGucciDoe two of his kids play pro hockey and now they’re on the same team.
And also has a brother, Caleb Jones, and now both are gonna play this next season for my Chicago Blackhawks, cheers from Mexico

I actually thought he was gonna say 5 million dollars rofl
New sub for this
Id watch this dude over a sportscaster any day
You gotta react to Pavel Datsyuk highlights. The Magic Man will dazzle.
You have to go back a couple years and watch Zdeno Chara break the record for the hardest shot
You should react to David pastrinak or Charlie McAvoy
You should react to Top ten Kronwall hits
bro not only he look like he's 15 but he 5'10, 160 lbs
Nah, he's 6'2, 170 lbs
And these guys jump in front of these shots at the net

Pouce bleu!!!!
He’s over 16 but not by much lol
