- Here is the Brian May Collector's Box Set for the Back To The Light album with autographed print, that was released on 6 August 2021. Piano by Mariano Bryner.
Looks a very poor edition in contents. Box artwork and extras are good. But content is very poor.
I remember Brian saying that he found some nice outtakes and demo's for this set. What has come of that. Nothing! As usual. Ah well, there's also a new Queen teddy bear we can buy. Besides the huge dissapointment once again nice video Gary.
I think QPL are waiting for us all to die!
My signed copy will hopefully be here next week. I’m looking forward to it. I saw Brian unbox on “Bri TV” early this morning, Texas time. I thought the vinyl was to be clear so I was a bit disappointed, the white vinyl is nice though and I do like it, just hoping for clear as originally sold, otherwise I’m happy with it. Can’t wait for Brixton Academy to be remastered and released again.
Hope it arrives soon. It's a great box though the content is nothing new.
I bought this album the very day it was released. It's a great album. Its a shame Brian never plays any of these songs anymore on the Queen + Adam Lambert tours. Resurrection is my personal favourite.
He still plays 'Last Horizon'.
this box is very cool, unfortunately due to the limited quantity it won't be possible to have it, but I hope to have vinyl soon, this album is sensational!
The pop-up Last Horizon photo is a stereo image
Three images of the same single cover on one page is just ridiculous when you think of all the great single and promo items that could have been used instead.
@@collectingqueen1943 Oh, I see what you meant! Thanks Gary, I agree!
I never bought it when it came out but I found a sealed vinyl LP in Italy in 2005 and bought that. Some nice stuff on it but I can’t listen to any Queen Solo stuff except for Freddie’s material. I bought the CD and the Live in Brixton CD then Another World. Never really listened to them.
You are missing some good stuff on those albums.
@@collectingqueen1943 like I said I have them, but they never did much for me. I’ll give ITTL a while on the turntable soon! Thank you.
Update! I bought the 2CD deluxe yesterday and the album is actually far better than I remember. The drums are massive. The remastering sounds fantastic too. Cozy Powell was an amazing drummer. It rocks far harder than any 80s Queen music. I think May was frustrated by the lighter direction the band too after the 70s.
I think The Dark is from the Flash Gordon sessions and sounds menacing. Mays guitar orchestrations are incredible and Queen should have utilised them more in their last decade. Chinese Torture would have been a great opening for The Miracle. I’m glad I bought this and I’m looking forward to the rest of the series, I think Another World is coming next then Star Fleet which I can’t wait for. I like the use of an Ibanez guitar on Nothin’ But Blue that he got from Joe Satriani. This album was also recorded on Sony DASH recorders, the pinnacle of 80s PCM digital audio.
I just listened to this album in my Technics SL-P550 CD player now, a flagship in 1988 and it sounds incredible with my big Pioneer headphones.
Was it really necessary to slap the "Gold" logo on every available surface? Those are not stickers, right?
I agree. They are all printed on the covers.
Gold series? He hasn't done much solo material so it will only be on a slack hand full of items.
Mine is arriving Monday 😊😊
I ordered it for the signed edition but dont think i would have bothered as i already have it on cd,vinyl amd cassette
How I would have seen it is this:
Brian May Live Art Print
32 Page Booklet
Back To The Light 180g Gold Vinyl
Back To The Light CD
Unreleased Light CD
DME Gold Music Magnet
Это фантастика
👑👍🏻😉🌹
This looks awfully cheap, considering the price.
I will be more excited by a rerelease of... LIVE AT THE BRICTON ACADEMY.... on DVD /Blu Ray, and Double Vinyl and CD. It's damn fuckin time. Please do it!!!!
Great video thank you. Not worth forking out 90 euro for this as I have the 90s release and singles. Brian's prnsion fund must be well topped up. He should talk to David Coverdale of Whitesnake, he will show you how do worthwhile boxsets, and plenty of them!
@@interestingthings8598 Yes, the Whitesnake boxsets have rough edits, commentary on each track, related video, hardback small book ..basically anything related to the album in question...Dave has a Restless Heart Box coming in the Autumn...not THE best album but he'll kill it. Brian needs to be more involved...he is too hands off in my opinion. And I love original Queen members most of my life.
@@grahamhill2130 the latest box sets by Metallica are pretty awesome too…
i got this on Amazon on clearance, about 41 dollars, and perhaps other retailers have similar deals
OMG!!! 😍 You have the Limited signed edition box!!!. ♥ It's really amazing!!!.😍 I don't get it, but I already have my double CD!!!.😁♥️
Oh dear. Brian won't like being told the lack of 'new' material is a disappointment.
Well it is. Sorry Brian. Oh, and you missed off the alternate version of "I'm Scared" that WAS released as an additional track on one your singles.
Shame you didn't include the instrumental of "Too Much Love" and the backing track for "Lost Horizon", both of which I believe you very kindly shared as internet downloads many many years ago.
They would have been better than the live tracks.
Ah well. Maybe you'll do an "Archive Collectors Edition" after you've re-released your back catalogue that contains the 'treasures'.
Sorry.. it’s no surprise to me this content is released. Lack of demo’s , unreleased songs, and unfinished tracks. No dvd, no documentary … just the same old stuff packed together. Will skip this one like all the other disappointed Queen releases over the years
Mmm....can anybody tell me if is it a real signed...because it seems to me a print and not a hand made signed...
Yes, they were each individually signed by Brian.
Got mine this morning, worth it just for the signed picture alone, as mentioned all the Bsides were released on various singles with the "Star Fleet" album which I would imagine will get the Gold series touch as well.
very good ... now I am already convinced that I will cry when I receive mine 🥺😭😅
Thanks for the video. I am pleased I have now seen it. Saved me a few quid.
The almost duplicate pop up edition of Last Horizon is not a mistake, it’s a stereoscopic photo. Brian explained that when he done an unboxing on Friday on Instagram, when he was live broadcasting all his interviews
This is a fantastic box set. The music is awesome. The tributes paid to his children, lady wife, and a lovely one for Freddie. This is definitely worth having and will bring many hours of happiness to its owner. ENJOY
Finally~ Brian solo reissues!!! The only solo material that had yet to be reissued, after all those Freddie compilations/reissues and Roger's the Lot.
I remember getting an email notification of this release. Eight minutes later I checked the website and the signed box set was sold out, which is crazy fast. I decided to jump the gun and order the non-signed box set, which was sold out a couple days after I ordered it. Hope this will become a rare piece, not for resell value, but for collectors sake :)
At least you got one.
@@collectingqueen1943 indeed, very grateful for sure!
:)
I’d like the white vinyl. But the rest of the box is underwhelming
Another amazing video gary
Thank you.
