Danny, even if I am not able to work on my Honda E, I still appreciate ur videos. Ur videos help me see what the job takes and what needs to be replaced or how it should be properly serviced. When I take my vehicle to the mechanic, I can hv a reference as to what the mechanic tells me and know he or she knows how to do the job & the estimate is far or not. Thank u for ur time in all the videos. 🙏🏽
Excellent video, as always. I’ve never done this procedure, but I bought an Element recently that had a horrible idle, even stalling occasionally. I adjusted the valves using your prior video and it runs amazing now! Just like brand new. Thanks man
My element rpms are dropping only after about 2 minutes of it being turned on and idleing. As the rpms lower the voltage drops as well and then the car shuts down. I have no idea why it’s doing this. Previous to this, it was not starting, I changed the spark plugs and it started finally and ever since it’s been parked because it won’t stay on after I turn it on I can drive it but after 2 minutes the idle won’t stay normal it will eventually drop once the car warms up. It idles fine the first two minutes and will even drive if I keep the rpm’s up after 2 minutes. But if I ever let off the gas after two minutes the rpm’s get so low that it shuts down. First two minutes it idles fine,, after warmup it just starts to decrease rpm’s slowly until it shuts down. Any idea what it is??
Found itt, thanks for this Danny! Mine is a manual transmission, i'm assuming this is the same method. I finished up a Clutch change along with pretty much a front suspension work (balljoints, tierods, LCA's, motor mounts, sway bar bushings) on my E *p.s, planning on uploading my videos. appreciate all your videos
I need help. I have a 06 Honda CRV with 337*** miles on it. When I'm at a red light or stop sign my car idle hard but when I put it N it stops. I've replaced the spark plugs/ coil pack/ rear engine mount/ and it idles rough in R but no on P. I haven't changed the oil in 3 year but I do add oil. Idk what's going on with this car??????
Great channel. New element owner here. What if the idle is ok but the car seems to want to accelerate right away on start? Yes ive heard about disconnecting negative. Its supposed to reset the computer.
Thanks. I cleaned the throttle and did the reset. Rpm was good for a bit, and now it's surging. One thing I noticed the fans didn't come on until I put the ac on. I will clean the maf and check the idle assist valve and see if it fixes it. Could be the throttle gasket?
Just did your air flow sensor & throttle body cleaning. And just finished up your Idle procedure. I'm now getting high idol at 1500 rpm with a check engine light. Redid the procedure twice same problem.
Usually any auto parts store will check code for free, scanners are cheap, I did a video on one that’s 30 bucks, not sure what went wrong but a code would help, maybe check airflow and other connections make sure you did not bend a terminal when installing

@dannysdiygarage I did not remove the throttle body, I did as shown in the video. I will get it scanned today day and let you know. I think my electric throttle body needs to be reset. That is what some of the forms are saying.
Amico let me ask you question. I have a 2005 AWD Element and were thinking of converting to 2WD rather than replace all the parts figured move off them entirely. I read some have done and found the car to be lighter and with more pep and potentially better gas millage - any thought sir?
A lot of work, my opinion, it’s not worth the trouble for what you gain and your vehicles value will decrease significantly, easier to sell and buy what you want 👍🏼 hopefully that helps
If when after I do the 3000rpm for 5 minutes and idle for 5 minute (it is idling good), then turn off and back on then turn on A/C is the idle moves up alittle what does that mean?
@dannysdiygarage but also I just drove to Costco and it was perfect then when I got back to the car the light came back on for p0507 and was surging. I have replaced the IACV, cleaned the throttle body, and replaced throttle body gasket. Any ideas?
@dannysdiygarage I was actually getting two codes before but now the other is gone after the gasket replacement I assume which was p2279. I will attempt to redo the procedure again, is there a way for confirmation?
Sometimes the relearning doesn’t relearn it’s best to use a scanner if possible, watch this video, especially the relearning and testing the throttle body ua-cam.com/video/pj2AB_3ORp0/v-deo.htmlsi=thBb9nUOGCPCj7aR Make sure there’s no vacuum leak
These models DO NOT HAVE A RELEARN . i have 2 elements. 03 and 05. Throttle bodys are all the same. Most idle problems are due to aftermarket IAC valves not being recognized by ECU. Stop telling people to do the damn relearn. It dosent WORK.
07 and later are are drive by wire ( meaning they do not have a throttle cable ) and need t have an idle relearn, your 03 and 05 elements are to old, they have a throttle cable, although doing a relearn on these could help set up the IAC, hopefully this clarifies your question, sorry for the confusion
@@dannysdiygaragethat was cool how you handled that. Also thanks for the info I have a 2004 so I'm not sure whether I should do this or not but your response was educational thank you

I appreciate you letting me know my videos are useful, I don’t always get feedback and I love success stories
thank you for making honda element videos. you have saved me a lot of money thank you!!
Appreciate that

Much appreciated!

Hi Mr Danny, thanks for your help, I have Honda element 2011 my 🚗 have on idle vibration
If it’s not idle, check engine mounts causing a vibration

Hi Danny, it worked fantastic for my 2006. By the way could you give me the name of the radio installed at your great E?

Try cleaning the throttle body and a relearn, also clean the air flow sensor, I also have a video on that for the E, thanks for subscribing

I have a video coming out using a $175. Bidirectional scanner to relearn the idle, sometimes this is what it takes, I should have this out next week

What’s the engine light code?
I'll have to take it to someone to get it scanned. It ran fine before I did this. I was just trying to keep my element happy. 2008 original owner

Code p2279 is caused by a vacuum leak, that might be where you need to look
