Sorry but the British were not the best army in the world. The prussians, russians, and many of the German kingdoms had better troops. Even there navy was being under budgeted at the time. At yorktown several of the British ships sent to fight the French fleet were sinking on there own before the battle. Going back to the British troops, who did americans fear more the British troops or the German troops the hired to fight? The German troops.
