The speech is Charlie Chaplin from the 1940 movie The Great Dictator. Chaplin wrote, directed, produced and played the two main roles. It was the first movie that he made with sound. The speech is famous and studied in Performing Arts Colleges around the world.
That was a unique moment that only comes once in a lifetime. This recording has everything , really everything you can express from the bottom of your soul . Unforgettable > just Magic
Paolo's the best. He's recently come back with a new album coming 1 July with 3 new songs available to hear now. So good so far. He's been gone 8 years since that last album, 2017 were his last live shows. He's just started touring recently, gearing up for a larger tour. He likes his time off. He likes to go home, regroup, become a functioning human again, travel a lot and collect experiences to write about. He's quite an artist. The speaking part of the song was from Charlie Chaplin's movie The Great Dictator. It's a famous speech, but they edited it to fit in the song. The full speech is longer than this whole song so needed to be edited. He's very good live. Some of the best performances are from the Jools Holland Show from the UK. No Other Way, Scream, Last Request, all incredible from Jools Holland. Paolo is scheduled to be on Jools' show this weekend actually with his new songs. Enjoy!
What you may have heard before is New Shoes or Pencil full of lead. It was on the rage on VH1 if you watched it back in 2007-2010. He's so underrated, undeservedly and unsurprisingly, given the state of the music scene and what's popular these last two decades. I've loved him since the first time I heard him.
My friend Marcio. Dutch here, Hollandaise. Listen to all of Paolo. There aren't many realer artists around today. If anything...BARELY any better singers.
@@redditstories2750 Hi Samantha As soon as I watched your video reacting to Paolo I went researching him and I am completely in love with all of his work. In the same way that you thanked those who indicated this gem to you, I thank you for sharing. I ask myself the same question, where has Paolo been that hasn't reached me? I also really liked "Paolo Nutini - Candy - Isle of Wight Festival 2015 - Live" and "Studio Brussel: Paolo Nutini - Better Man (live)"
Charlie Chaplin speech in the middle of the song ,1938-39, while Hitler was building concentration camps. We who forget history or do not bother to learn from it will be doomed to repeat it.
Surely anyone with any musical credibility in popular music reviews has heard of Paulo - I’m 57 and don’t listen to that much music and have heard a lot of him before - he’s had at least one number 1 album for G’s sake.
I've played this song for many people and I have yet to find someone that has loved it as much as me. I just don't understand it. Still looking for the woman that hears it and reacts like I did.
Hi faith was hoping you would react to VANNY VABIOLA cover EASY ON ME BY ADELE WOW WOW WOW is all I can say you and your subs really need to hear this hope these words find you well love and respect from the east coast of Canada Rocko out
React to Roland Faunte - Happy Life pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Great Reaction from a new subscriber. BTW The speech in the song Is only part of the greatest speech ever. It's from the 1940 film. "The Great Dictator" Written, directed and performed by Charlie Chaplin. You should check it out
Jesus, they're not the only nation. There are many smaller nations too fighting and living in hell. Not to take anything away from Ukraine but widen the mind a little too.
@@mrrrrr5158 Your so correct. But my comment was, when I hear this song, not you or anyone else. I'm seventy years old, I've seen and done plenty, my mind couldn't be any more open. Relax brother.
Almost every reaction video I see to the song everyone is just so stunned by it they can't say anything. I love this song!
Paolo always gives you everything he's got! Absolute genius! Seriously underrated as a writer and a performer.

Seen him two or three times at the Celtic games and he sings with the fans loved your reaction well done
simply sublime...listen to more of his work :)
This song was about Scottish independence.
You will have 100% heard him before if you live in the UK. Last request and candy being his most popular
Que voz maravilhosa, obrigado por apresentar essa preciosidade. Eu sou brasileiro e não conhecia Pablo. Muito, muito mas muito bom. 👊😍

I) you lost the point
Great message and vocals. Next week is Aurora's Birthday on June 15th.
You should if you live in the UK
That is an amazing tune. I kind of get a Christopher vibe from Spanish trains and Other Stories or the Crusader album. Just a thought
You have to react to Australian legend John Farnham “help” live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, he’s voice is phenomenal

Try candy live at the isle of white festival in 2015 it will blow your mind the versatility of this guy
Thank you for this, I love Paolo. You may want to check out Dimash singing SOS. He will blow your mind. 😊
Yeah 420th like 😊
Definitely check out Matt Corby and Australian singer songwriter

Please, lift him up. He is prodigy, even with MJ and Whitney or Seline Dion. But he is silenced for his messages. Do Paolo justice please

I think of Ukraine when I hear this song. They are fighting for freedom!

You have never heard of him ?
You probably heard candy from him
Too much background noise, probably coming from the mic.
Impossible to have a clear listening
Fantastic protest song! that is more relevant with current times, elements of marley and otis from a seminal artist....SAOR ALBA🏴☠🏴☠🏴☠"
