Rammstein are just epic. Fun fact, in the official video for this Ich tu dir weh, Till actually had his cheek punctured to have the light in his mouth. He wanted to do it on tour but was advised against it, infection, repeated puncture wound etc. So as you see here, its a wire run into the side of his mouth.

Yeah I read in an interview that they really played a few shows with the piercing and in the afterparties Till used it as a party trick where he would drink beer, tequila or any other alcoholic bewerage, pull out the plug for the hole and squirt the liquid out of it. It got infected of course :)

One thing most people don't realize about Rammstein is they were born before the fall of the Berlin wall and were from east Germany. Their song radio gets into this some about what the divide was like. I think most of their perspective comes from being so close to the darker history of their country and trying to work threw understanding who they are in that weird history.

Bückstabu and Educated Marine channels are the best for Rammstein songs with English subtitles. The leather apron Till is wearing is for Mein Teil. As for the feathers and hairnet, who knows. Till wears what he wears, much like Flake. Rammlied is definitely one of their best concert openers. There's so many live performances you can look at because it's one heck of a rabbit hole to go down with Rammstein. For wtf moments, try Mein Teil at the Hurricane festival or Feuer Frei at Download. The official videos are true works of art though. Enjoy.

I myself grew up with rap, hip-hop and graffiti, but I've been a Rammstein fan for many years now. At first I was looked at weirdly by my childhood friends because they thought rammstein was on the right (I was and always am on the left).
I immediately fell in love with the play with the language, the lyrics that can be interpreted several times and till's voice. I've also been to concerts several times and you really get goosebumps all the time.
In response to the accusations that they were right-wing, Rammstein released the song "Links 2 3 4" That says it all. And to Till's vocal volume, I recommend "Seemann" or "Ohne Dich". They're older songs, but maybe you'd like to listen to them.

A lot of people see metal as demonic but that’s not the case. Yes some bands are.. but the majority are not like that. Gojira for example are big into activism and saving the environment. Rammstein has very special relation with their fans, very respectful. "Rammlied" and "Armee der Tristen" are about this relation and deep connection. "Armee der Tristen" don't have any official music video but I believe that there are some lives - personally, I love this song mostly for it's meaning. As far as watching official music vids, as long you will pause those vids to analyze (more it's better), you should be fine. I think that music videos for "Deutschland", "Adieu" or "Mein Herz Brennt" or "Zeit" are must-watch, among many many others. I think you would like "Dicke Titten" and "Zig Zag" as well ;) I've won tickets for a special rehearsal concert in Vilinus, so I will see them live within 4 days. And after that, 2 more times in Firezone - I have a Rammstein concert hat trick this year :D

Hello and thanks a lot for your great reaction from a very very very old guy from Germany. I didn't take notice of Rammstein for almost 3 decades, Two years ago I saw a reaction to "Du hast" from an American UA-camr and was instantly excited. Wanted to give them a try and listened to a second song. And liked it very much. A third, fourth, fifth song and could not believe that every single one appealed to me. Today I have 40 favorite songs, all of them are just awesome, musically. Every song is unique and different, most of them are power songs, some are funny or creepy or weird or kind of experimental or ballades or - the latest - mature universal songs. While music and effects are outstanding the lyrics and themes are often provoking or disturbing or even disgusting. Most of it makes sense when you know a little bit more about the background. Just two important facts: At least 2 members (lead singer Till and lead guitarrist) had very bad relationships to their mothers (that's probably why you'll find hardly any love song from RS) and all of the 6 band members experienced the downfall and economic collapse of their homeland Eastern Germany (After WW II Germany was seperated into West Germany with close bonds to capitalist US and UK and East Germany which was part of the communist Soviet block). Maybe this are two explanations why the texts are often só dark, But musically Rammstein has an unbelievable list 40 to 50 great songs. Few examples: "Sehnsucht" (live Moscow 2019 multicam), "Zeit" (official video, very beautiful and calm), "Du riechst so gut" (live Hellfest Festival 2016), "Ich will" (live Hurricane Festival 2016), "Adieu" (official video), "Mein Herz brennt Piano version" (official video), "Wollt Ihr das Bett in Flammen sehen?" (live Paris), "Mutter" (live Paris), "Klavier" (live Paris), "Deutschland" (official video), "Wiener Blut" (live Wacken 2013). As I said it's just a small selection, another RS fan could easily 10 other great songs. One remark to the pyro. I once heard Lindemann say in a documentary that he was bored on the stage and was a little bit unchallenged (maybe the reason for his stagefright) and started with it and it grew.Wanted to write something else but forgot it. One result of 7 years Parkinson. RS is one source that gives me strength. All the best to you guys.

FUN FACT about his illuminated mouth. You can barely see the cable going into his mouth in live performance. Anyhow, for the music video he literally let them put a hole into his cheek to put through the cable because he thought it wasn‘t good looking for the video if you can see the cable. They speak about this in the making of video

Hey there. Your comments on the energy is more on the money than you'd think - This show was the first Rammstein show on US soil in 10 years. It was a massive show and the energy was insane with people coming from around the world to see how that first show back in the USA was.

Originally Till Lindemann had a whole punched through his cheek, so that the cable for the light could go sideways into his mouth, not disturbing his singing. But he had to close this hole with a plug whenever drinking something.

If you're a Ramstein fan or not there's no denying the amount of effort put into giving an AMAZING live show. The amount of creativity that goes into everything about this band is beyond! Till has incredible stage presence and the performance of everyone in the band is absolutely over the top. From the keyboarder on the treadmill with electricity coming from his fingers to Till and his giant wings that shoot fire there's no one that can match them! Tills voice is incredible and he doesn't lip sync when performing live! The pyrotechnics are amazing! This band aims to entertain and amaze their audience and they DELIVER! You don't need to speak German to enjoy the songs either! Ramstein deserves more recognition and acclaim than they get! I love a a lot of genres of music but to me there is no band that measures up to Ramstein! I absolutely love them!

I took my 15yr old daughter to her first concert in June - Rammstein in Lisbon. It was the most mind blowing concert I have ever been to and we can't wait until they tour again, definitely going to travel if necessary and go to more than one next time! Now worried she will be very disappointed in more or less anything else she sees(!). The music is about 120db (self-imposed limit to protect their audience) and you can definitely feel it as well as the heat from the flames. I had a German colleague back in the 2000's who was into them and I wished I had paid more attention back then.

The band name "Rammstein" comes from the name of a small German town called Ramstein, which is located in the federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate. The town is famous for the Ramstein Air Base, a significant NATO military facility. However, the band slightly altered the spelling of the name by adding an extra "m," and they also changed the pronunciation slightly to make it more unique. On August 28, 1988, during an airshow at the U.S. Ramstein Air Base in Germany a airshow disaster occurred. On that fateful day, a group of Italian aerobatic pilots known as the "Frecce Tricolori" were performing their intricate flying maneuvers in front of a large crowd. During one of their maneuvers, three aircraft collided in mid-air, causing a catastrophic chain reaction. The collision resulted in one of the aircraft crashing into the crowd area, while the others crashed onto the runway.
As a result of the accident, the wreckage and debris caused significant casualties and injuries to both spectators and pilots. The exact death toll remains a subject of debate, but it is estimated that more than 70 people lost their lives, and over 1,000 others were injured, making it one of the deadliest airshow disasters in history. ua-cam.com/video/i-7UxaAGMO4/v-deo.html
