    Thank you for waiting four weeks to show us how to properly do a backfill/rebalance. Most people usually wait three to four weeks between services. Perfect timing.
    Dry e-file manicures have changed my nail life!. I used a ball bit for my current manicure. My cuticles look perfect!!. Now, I just need to perfect painting so I do not get flooding. Lol

    When you said: "...this might be enough incentive to get you to become a nail technician." - honestly, Light elegance was the tipping point for me! I was watching all those pretty glitters and couldn't buy them and was sooo frustrated because yeah, there are other glitters and then there are LE glitters. One day, last year, after winter collection launch I finally flipped and now I am a nail tech and I have LE glittergel obsession. 😂

      I went for a basic gel coat and they couldn't even get that right. It lasted a couple days before chipping and I was so disappointed. She was telling me how it would last 2 weeks and help my nails grow. I was so mad! I got my own gel afterwards and haven't been back to the salon. I just wanted to say thank you so very much for taking of your precious time to teach nail art. I have learned a lot in the few videos I have seen, and hope to learn more as I go. I am not a professional; nevertheless, I love the art expression in doing nails. I have been doing nails on myself for the past three years, learning little-by-little from other nail tutorials. Your videos, however, have been the most educational and detailed I have seen thus far. No one ever talks about lefties and left-handed bits, for example. I am a lefty, so I deeply appreciate that information. That is just one small example of the many things I have learned from you that have changed the way I do my nails for the better. Again, thanks :)

    Just a quick note about fluffy brushes. You can absolutely sanitize them!:) not in between each client because of dry time, but you can wash it like you would a makeup brush (soap and water below where it meets the metal part) then dip or spray barbicide, let sit for 10 mins, then rinse off and let dry. I don’t know if this works for natural hair brushes, but it’s just fine for artificial hair ones. Just thought I’d let others know it is possible (although a bit of a headache, yes) if they prefer using them. You’d have to have a lot of them to be able to use a different one for each client, and then have the brushes dry overnight.

    • @TheNailHub
      @TheNailHub  3 роки тому +2

      Hi yes you definitely can clean them but most state boards of cosmetology do not allow these to be used on clients because they cannot be cleaned properly between each client. Just keep that in mind.

    • @TheNailHub
      @TheNailHub  5 років тому +26

      No! If you work your magic and the nail looks perfect the first time around, by all means skip the finish filing and go straight into your next layer of color or top coat or whatever. That's actually a great goal is to be able to do a nail perfectly like that when possible and move on! :)

    So this is a complete game changer as I’ve never seen it done. You backfill with your soak off hard gel, file/shape, then gel Polish, hard gel glitter and then straight top coat. Wow. How long does this last and how durable us this please. I assumed you had to one step or hard gel over the gel, then top coat. This way that you demonstrated is a time saver.

    People actually get upset when you say paint vs. polish?? If you want to get down to brass tacks, polish isn’t correct, either, as the substances are lacquers, not polishing compounds. Why debate semantics when we can just learn from a wonderful teacher? Let’s stay positive and appreciate the time and effort that goes into each video.

Also how do you calm your nerves I've booked an acrylic course I haven’t been in the kinda learning classroom situation for a while now. Im looking forward to it but also really nervous incase I mess up and be the only one messing up. Silly questions I know but I needed to ask someone that teaches and has been taught and you are so amazing at what you do why wouldn’t I ask you.

    I keep re watching this class and learn something new every time! Question though: i understand a fill is less work than a full set for extensions.
    However for a gel overlay or structured manicure or whatever you want to call it, for me it's never less work. With the filing down of color, refine of the shape, and underneath cleaning and debulk after shortening, it's the same amount of time/work than a full set. Application for a fill doesn't take less time for me, since i still need to float the gel and smooth it over the whole nail, less product than a naked nail but the work to place it right it's the same. What i am missing? Help Liz!

      Hi Erika, it’s hard to say without seeing your process but I will be covering this exact topic soon. If you have time send me a video or a full list of steps via email. sales@thenailhub.com and I can try and review from afar. *Also something that really helps is time yourself by section and see what part of the process you are spending the most time on. Sometimes we get lost on one particular task and we can focus on improving just that one area of the service to shave off time. For example a lot of people “waste/lose” time on cuticle work, struggling on application, and shaping. Could be you’re getting to fixated on one particular area. Which is very common and normal and can be easily fixed with some attention.

    I loved this video, thank you for posting it. Can you do the same thing but with a stiletto nail? And talk about a refill/ rebalance as well.

    I am new to all this. I want to thank you for this video. I have watched so many videos where they say they are going to show how to backfill yet they take all the polish off and basically start over again. I thought I was going crazy thinking why do they call this backfill??!?!! 😆

    Thank you so much for your sacrifice to show us!!! Another awesome video!!! I'm a nail tech and I'm interesting in gel extension system. What would you recommend me any bundle for a rookie like me to learn? Nail school just taught me acrylic system but I hate the smell of the acrylic!!! And do you have the link to buy the latest dust vaccum like you said?

    This is such a great video! It's so super detailed and I love that you have little troubleshooting tips too. You make it look so easy, but I know for me it's not that easy lol.
    Why don't you cap the tip of your nail? As a client, it would really bother me to see the pink builder layer under the orange/copper layer of polish at the tip.

    I'm glad to see you do almost exactly like I do. I've been professionally doing nails for over 15 years so I always like to check in on myself and do a refresher. Suggestion: do clean up under nail before top coat/colour that way can check for sharp edges etc and in case you slip you don't damage finished nail shine.

    You are seriously unreal!! Game changer!! I know you have explained a bit on curing and flash curing, however I am still getting confused! I understand the flash cure is to keep the product in place whilst you continue to work through the nails, and the full cure should be to the manufacturers instructions to complete the curing process, but I just need some more info on your heat-spike-minimising technique (hand in for a second > out > turn upside down > turn right way up > back in > repeat), is this used during flash curing? Is flash curing for ~10secs (lamp dependent)? When using this technique are we asking clients to put their hand in the lamp 10 times for an accumulation of 10 seconds (10 x 1 second exposure)? Are we using this technique for full cure as well? Thank you for the incredible work and education you provide to our industry, I hope the rest of the industry and schools/curriculum catches up to you so we can all become better, safer and more confident in our profession x

    You said not to worry about the tiny, little residual piece of lifting and that it won't pose a problem when encapsulated, but I'm curious: While it may not cause further lifting, will you be able to SEE it if you're doing clear nails? I do clear nails a lot and I feel like it illuminates every imperfection under the gel.

    Thanks for this video! I was kinda sick, so I let my mani go longer than ever before, and now I've got a dire backfill situation. I love doing my nails with these videos to give me confidence. Fabulous glitter! But how come you don't cap your free edge?
