*_Congratulations - In the image we see the components of the giant board - But actually in full size and absurdly small - Your work proves to be as competent as an industrial machine specialized for this purpose_*
I just saw this video. My PS2 SCPH-500xx no longer spins or turns on the laser. Even after a replacement. Could it be that I blew out this chip (or fuse)?
My PS2 can boot, goes to the OSDSYS, and can even run games from USB using FMCB and OPL.. but the eject light isn’t on, and the disc tray doesn’t eject.. is my LA6508 dead? (The model number is SCPH-50004) The laser doesn’t light up, and the disc drive is dead
What is the symptom of this being bad I have one that acts like it’s trying to read but will not read it just looks at the disc forever I have tried three lasers in it that I know for a fact work properly because I tried them in two other PS2‘s
Also I know it’s not my height adjustments because I can swap the whole drive assembly it’s the motherboard or something on it it does not look like there’s any messed up traces
So i have the same motherboard i was working on replaced the chip and it burned that chip out too dvd drive was half ass working replaced both chips it was moving mechanically but non stop. It burned the fuse again and the chip
What was the problem symptoms? Something with DVD? Or no display? I've got an old ps2. The DVD tray opens, disk spins as I remember but no audio and video. Ps2 fat version
The quark vid comic music is the best part of this video

What does this chip do exactly ?
Can i test with a multimeter if this chip was blown? If yes how? Thanks
Yes you can. Most pins will be shorted to ground if the chip is fried. Atleast in my experience.

Hay algo que hace cortocircuito y esta quemandolo nuevamente puede ser hasta el lector o motor creo

Ps2 fat version
If the DVD tray opens, it's probably something else. Possibly a bad joint on the bios chip or something else
