- A deadly fire ripped through a building in South Los Angeles early Saturday morning, and authorities believe that the structure, which appeared abandoned, housed a “cannabis operation.”

Could be used as a solvent in the extraction process to make concentrates. Extracts used to be called "bho" (butane hash oil) so maybe they're using propane instead because it's cheaper.

"Chemicals that can be explosive" What chemicals? I have grown and know of no volatile chemicals ever used. The tanks were likely Co2 which enhances growth. [plants breathe carbon dioxide in which we breathe out and the reversal for humans. Typical is just plant food, CalMag and PH up for getting the proper PH level of the water. The only thing I can think of is possibly using Ammonium Nitrate in this commercial production.

@@user-zp7jp1vk2i Propane can be used to generate heat but the lights themselves generate plenty of heat along with de-humidifiers.
During initial plant growth [veging] temps can be in the mid to upper 70's and the same with humidity with at least 18 hours of light of which 12 needs to be real growth light. [first two weeks]
Then when you switch to flower mode the light goes to 12 hours a day and temps need to be in the low 70's with humidity 40-50% for the next 8 weeks, the last 2 weeks you drop the temp into the upper 60's to purple up keeping the light and humidity the same. You can also use expensive flower enhancers and glucose-based products to sweeten which add essence like "berries" none of which is caustic or hazardous in any way.
Propane can be used for the drying process where the harvested plants hang upside down at around 70deg for 10 days. I typically used the inverter climate control system when temperature changes were needed plus you need to periodically add outside air if you don't have a Co2 system.
