    📦 Product Highlights
    - Power button (hold for 3 seconds to turn on & off).
    - Tap the power button to toggle between brightness and color temperature adjustments.
    - Then use the plus and minor buttons to increase or decrease them.
    - Brightness goes from 1% to 100%.
    - Color temperature goes from a warmer 3200 Kelvin to a cooler 5600 Kelvin.
    - USB-C Charging Port.
    What's In the Box:
    - Panel Mini LED Light
    - Mini Camera Shoe Mount
    - Softening Diffuser
    - USB-C Charging Cable
    - Manual
    Impressions:
    - Very tiny. It's about the size of a credit card. 2.1 inches tall by 3.5 inches wide by 0.45 inches thick. And it is made of aluminum, so it weighs just 3 ounces.
    - Very bright. It has 60 bi-color LED lights which output 550 Lux at a half meter with a CRI of 96.
    - Very smart. The LCD screen on the back shows everything you need to know, even how long the battery will last at the current brightness level. So as you change how bright or dim it is, the amount of time remaining will change.
    - Very soft. Most tiny LED lights cause very harsh shadows because the light comes from such a small size, but the Lume Cube Panel Mini has a built-in frosted lens and comes with an additional rubber diffuser you can easily put on it.
    - Versatile. With the two 1/4"-20 threads on the bottom and side you can mount it into a cold shoe with the included adapter or into a SwitchPod using a simple ball joint. It’s not waterproof though.
    - Long lasting. It lasts 1.2 hours at full power and 14 hours at 1% power. And you can charge it while using it via a USB-C cable into a power bank or AC plug.
    Use Cases:
    - Now, I wouldn't use this as my main light in a permanent setup, but I would use this as an accent light.
    - I'll always put this in my gear bag now. Whether I need a slight hair light during an interview, a small light on my camera to fill in the shadows on a face while run and gunning, or I’m mounting it on a SwitchPod while vlogging this sized light is extremely versatile.
    Price:
    - At launch it is $60 US.
    - Their larger panel which is about 3 times as bright, costs $150 US, so depending on your needs, also look at that one.

Video was really well made, but I would have loved to see some photos and videos taken using this as the primary light source or as part of a light kit. I hope you'll consider making a follow-up! Cheers

probably one of the better reviews on youtube but...would love to see some lighting setup with this light instead of just talking about the specs..

Agreed. This wasn't as much a review as it was a highlight of the paperwork that comes in the box. Meh.

We love the lights. We throw them in the background for practicals and accents all the time! Great channel too. Keep grinding Caleb. (We have a Caleb on our channel too)

I use the regular lumecube panel on my ricoh GRiiix and it gets in the way of the shutter button. I just bought this one to try it. Great Review

Definitely, a product to look into. I shot with an EOS RP and am in the market for a light source. I have been looking at these continuous light sources partly due to the cost and versatility of them. I shot a lot of low light performers that would not be good to use a flash. Thanks for the review. Also, I saw your profile thumbnail and Go Green!

i film alot in run and gun situation at night in dark locations and with a team. I have no way to have other lighting in situations like this. Will this be enough?

    • @CalebWojcik
      @CalebWojcik  6 місяців тому

Without knowing what you’re filming it is hard to know if this will be enough light. May need a bigger light that uses v-mount batteries from Amaran or Aputure.

I am trying to figure out if this has practical application for photography. Is it bright enough for macro or portrait? All the reviews I have seen focus on vlogging and videography in general

    • @mikemoscarelli8905
      @mikemoscarelli8905 4 роки тому +2

I have one and feel it would add a little light to macro and portrait to take some of the shadows out. lLike under the chin, but not enough light to be a stand alone.

Would work great in low light like 6pmor so but would not recommend if its pitch black and this is ur only light
Most people who buys this is on the go videographers or vloggers

Hi. I´m a wildlife photo enthusiast and know very little about studio photo. My D500 camera doesn´t have flash and I need to make a lot of product photo for my online store. Could this replace a flash? (I hate working with flash. Not just because I don´t like the light effect but disturbs me a lot). What would be the difference? (maybe a flash is more powerful?) Could you be able to use it as a light source to make a video such like this one? Thanks!

Would this be a good option for macro photography at night in the rainforest? I'm traveling soon to Costa Rica and I'll be doing some night time hikes looking for amphibians, spiders etc. It would seem this would be better than using a camera flash?

I am a wedding filmmaker and still learning about lights. I am looking to buy a small and bright Bi-color light but now those RGB lights make me very confused. I don't know which one is the best option for me. Originally I was thinking to buy Aputure AL-F7. I would really appreciate your suggestions.

Excellent compromise for quality but low budget lighting. Very interesting, at that price, the possibility of adjusting the intensity of the light.

I feel a review isn't complete without comparing the thing to other things like it in the market. Even if this is a paid review. The manufacturer should be confident enough in their product to not limit you in doing this crucial thing. I really respect your opinion, but leaving out the comparison makes the video less valuable and if this is the way you'll review going forward I won't continue watching them... Hope you turn it around. I'd miss your so well produced videos.

Man Jonas, you're a picky one. This was a complete and comprehensive review. How about making "suggestions" and leaving the negativity out. If you don't like it, there are other videos you can check out.
