  • One of the large fires that ravaged Oregon in early September 2020, was the human-caused 138,000-acre Riverside Fire east of Portland. Its run ended near where this flyover was taken outside of Estacada but even on this frost-covered morning in late-November it was only deemed 72% contained over two months after it started. The feature shows the North Fork Reservoir on the Clackamas River where the fire made a run out of the canyon at homes above the dam, some destroyed and some saved. The video shows the logging salvage operation ongoing and some destroyed structures. The snowcapped mountain the background is Mt. Hood to the east of the fire.
