not 100% sure, but i would estimate somewhere around a couple thousand(?) i remember the part right after dt taking a lot, the chum putt skip taking quite a few, the GL tile skips in lighthouse taking a lot, and i remember rerecording areas like treedome and going to specific areas and frame counting to get optimal throws of the acorns and such. I know the optimized TASes of like SM64 take a million or so rerecords, and I cant see this being anywhere near that
