agreed. My playthrough is rushed so i can just build in more or less a creative mode. Kibitz is a nice change of pace and something I can follow slowly, and more like the game probably should be played lol.
He keeps using balancers, which are not necessary. Once the buffers fill up, the belts fills up back. The only reason you would ever need a balance or, is if your needed input speed of a series of machines exceeds the output of the machines feeding them. That should never happen. He's literally wasting space with balancers, when you can use a linear split and just make sure you don't exceed the input speed of the first belt. I am making 1800 quickwire per minute from just 20 Constructors and 20 smelters. And they are all in nice neat little rows, with linear splits.
@@chubbysumo2230 He plays the game how he wants to play it. If he have fun this way than that's perfect for him. I'm sure he'll optimize when the game is actually done and we know what to build for.

I started this a few days ago and I'm now on episode 29, and I have come to a thought that Kibitz has been playing this singleplayer every single episode and he has achieved all of this
The mark two containers, now called industrial storage containers, do not split evenly. They favor the opposite output of the input. Almost on a 3 to 1. Make sure you feed the container enough to keep a buffer in there, that way it will pull as much out from both top and bottom as you need.
Regarding your obsession with load balancers ... if you need to load balance to some odd number, do the balancing to nearest higher ratio and merge the excess branches back into the input. For instance if you need to load balance to 10 inputs, make it 12 (2x2x3) and drive the two excess branches back to a merger on the input line. Since you'll never branch off more than half of the input, it will merge smoothly. Just consider that the line between that merger and first split needs to carry consumption of all branches, not just the machines. Apart of that, I think the bus (overflow) method is 100% fine. You may argue that waiting for the machines to get stuffed is waster time but you already waste time if you build first and connect inputs only when you're done - they could have been building their buffers up all that time.
I agree, also, the factory is going to run for hours and hours, the time spent "warming up" will be minuscule. Also, once everything gets backed up because there is no demand, being perfectly balanced wont mean anything
Kibitz! You should have used the Harddrive Quickwire Recipe. With 1 - 450 Caterium Ore line and 1- 300 Copper Ore line. Stick the caterium ore in 8 Smelters at 125% & Copper in 10 Smelters 100%. Feed that into 8 Assemblers and you'll output 1800 Quickwire per minute!
Thank you for sharing your gaming experience, I definitely gain something every time I watch you in action. Question: is there an advantage of using the load balancers vs overflow? (Maybe you made a video about it)
The only real advantage is the start up time. With a manifold/overflow set up, you have to wait for each machine to completely fill with its components before the next machine will run at full efficiency. Once the lines are saturated, they are functionally equivalent. That being said, I believe he said during this playthrough that he just likes the way load balancers look, and enjoys the challenge of building them.
And you can make 3 iron with 1 iron and 1 copper, so you can double your production with Copper and just make Iron Wire, since nothing else needs copper
A "less messy" arrangement might have had the constructors arranged in a matter close to how you arranged the constructors for the quartz Crystals - although with the inputs facing out. Below and in line with the constructors would be the two rows of 15 smelters with a conveyor lift taking the caterium ingots from the output of a smelter to the input of the constructor directly above the smelter. On the smelter floor, the belts with the ore would go between the two rows, with the belt on the left feeding the first ten smelters on the left, the belt on the right feeding the first ten smelters on the right and center belt feeding the remaining five smelters on each side. On the constructor floor it might be possible to merge the output belts into five groups without going outside, although that might be desirable due to aesthetics.

And the alternative Ocillator recipe that demand rubber kinda seems more troublesome than it's worth imo, I rather do x1.8 manufacturers that uses cables and hardened iron plates than rubber and AI limiters. My factory is kinda small with me being fine with 1 constructor at the end. It's become very quiet with most of the storage containers full. Almost every line is at a stand still. And I'm at 77 hours on my save game
the tech tree thing bothers me with this game you always get new stuff that requires you to scrap the entire thing and restart and then you unlock the next and need to scrap the entire thing again kindof sad about the loss of the old wire towers, while the new ones make less lag the old ones did look a lot cooler ps do you know you can edit colors if you edit the starting color into the red you like you dont have to repaint all the walls every time tho i guess the unpainted ones do keep it clear wich stuff is unfinished also, dont you have a proper mall where everything collects for easy access probably close by your base and orbital elevator seems a bit silly to have all that cool production but not have it end in a final product
So he has touched on the default color things a few times, he doesn't like making everything red, orange to him is the Satisfactory color and he wants it around, also the red gets overbearing. I also agree about the tech tree in this, especially the randomness of Alternative Recipes, I restarted my map recently and have not even attempted to build an actual factory until I unlock some of the key alternative recipes.
it's gonna be funny when nuclear stuff is added in the next update and he ends up making a big nuclear power plant and has it set up so he has hundreds extra

Stop running balancers. You are wasting space. Once the buffers fill up, then everything just backs up, and you have stuff sitting on the Belt. You can run all of your smelters in a linear split, and you will not run out as long as you do not exceed the total input belt speed.
