    I have a similar problem with this PC. My pc came with 4gb of ram with 2 sticks of 2gb each. Then we bought more ram to install 12gb in total (2 more sticks of 4gb) and when we started up the pc it entered in a infinite loop, the fans turned on and off immediately and after a while (changing rams, unplugging the power cord, testing with other pair or rams)it showed up the post message saying errors with the memories. We accepted the changes and it could run fine. And 2 days ago it happened the same, but now the pc won't turn on anymore. We tried to change the power supply, taking out the motherboard, cleaning it, removing the ram sticks and nothing happened. I believe the motherboard is dead because the tiny LED on the middle of the board is not on. This particular model of pc is very special, with a simple change of memory stick it changes its mind and won't work anymore. At least I'm not the only one with issues with this PC hehehe. Thanks for the video!

      You're very welcome! Yes, if the little green LED is not illuminated then the board is likely done. There's definitely something SUPER weird about this board as far as memory goes. It must be SUPER-SENSTIVE to memory type/specs!

    If you don't plan to install all 4 memory slots you need to look in the manual which slots to install the ram sticks in. The correct slot matters and some pc will not turn on if the configuration is wrong. Of course that ram stick could be faulty or even the slot, need to be verified with a known working ram stick.

    I have the same problem with my HP Compaq Pro 6300. For me the problem started suddenly after years of use. The problem only occurs when populating slot 3 or 4. It doesn't matter which RAM-stick I use.

    I have a similar hp, and had trouble booting it up. It turned out to be where the power cord plugs into the power supply. It was as though the connection was dirty or oxidized. I don't know if there is any kind of spray cleaner that can be used safely (power completely off of course). Thank you for posting. Mike in Oregon

      Thk you so much for posting and helping! Very much appreciated! Yes, you can certainly spray any sort of 'electrical contact cleaner' into those modular plugs/sockets. It should work a treat. I've never used it on a power cord, but I've certainly used it to clean the INSIDE of electronics, like stereo equipment. Cheers!

    There might be a bios update that will fix the clock error of the memory.

    • @TechNoPhobiaGirl
      @TechNoPhobiaGirl  9 місяців тому

      It's possible. This PC is long gone so the matter is closed for me.

    Do you know if your ram has a designated L stamped on it .
    I heard some companies were making memory with the original
    specs , but then only allowing lower power systems to be compatible with the memory hence the L .

    Hi, Today I bought an hp 6800 which looks the same as yours. I had the same problem when I turned it on. The monitor does not start and the fans turn after the first minute. I thought it was damaged, but after I put the RAM in the next slot, it worked. / only 1 ram memory 4 GB /. Try inserting the memory into the next slot. I hope to be useful to you, Greetings from Bulgaria ..

      First thing I would try is a different power button. If it turns on SOMETIMES and not others, that sounds like a faulty button. You can also bypass the power button (on non-OEM PCs) by removing the power switch connector on the motherboard and shorting the two pins with a metal object. Not sure if you can do the same thing with manufactured PCs. I've never needed to try it before. Just google it and see what comes up.

      @@fazalbaig3135 You're very welcome. Sorry I can't be more help. I don't really know much about this PC. I noticed weird behaviour when trying to troubleshoot so I thought I'd make a video to try to help other people with a similar problem. Someone gave me the PC with the memory problem. After I figured out what was going on, I refurbished the system and gave it to a friend.

    • @TechNoPhobiaGirl
      @TechNoPhobiaGirl  3 роки тому

      @@fazalbaig3135 Ya, that's the same thing mine was doing ... EXACTLY! Maybe a bad memory stick or memory slot? Put in only ONE stick and move it from slot to slot and see if anything changes. Don't know what else to suggest. I had a friend bring me a PC last week that wouldn't turn on. I figured it was a bad power supply, but when I opened up the system I smelled burnt electronics. I sniffed around and found the smell was coming from the graphics card. I removed the card and the system turned right on and booted up. PC troubleshooting can be VERY difficult/troublesome, exactly like troubleshooting a problem with a car.

      Don't know anything about this PC other than what I discussed in the vid. Sorry. I did, however, discover recently that the REASON the G.Skill RAM crapped out is that one of the 2 modules is flaky. One stick worked in another PC, but one didn't. Then I fiddled around (plugged/unplugged) and got the 2nd stick to work. VERY strange! I've NEVER seen that with RAM b4! G'luck!

    TechNoPhobia so ive got the mini tower as ive boughten this system to hackintosh it, when i install mt timtech ram with the smasung ram it will boot and work just fine but apawn restarting the computer it acts like theres no memory installed and this is brand new to. any idea why it would be doing this?

    • @TechNoPhobiaGirl
      @TechNoPhobiaGirl  2 роки тому

      I don't, sorry. I only had this system long enough to 'fix' it and then I gave it away. Some OEM PCs are SUPER-PICKY about RAM. I know that's not really helpful, but that's all I can tell you. Mixing RAM brands can sometimes be problematic because of different timings, which I suspect is your problem. One thing I learned many, MANY years ago is to NOT mix different RAM. Best of luck!

      No idea. You'd have to look it up on HP's website. The processor is in this system is an AMD.
