This performance was part of the charity shows done by Pavarotti in his hometown of Moderna. The proceeds benefited the children of war. There are many others as good as this: with Celine Dion, Bono, Sting, etc. They are all here on UA-cam if you want to see them. Pavarotti was lauded by The Kennedy Center and the UN for his efforts to help children of war when noone else did.
These videos painfully remind me that these people are irretrievably gone. What a loss. All the big ones are gone forever. And that makes me incredibly sad.
Sadly they are gone but, thanks to technology, we are able to relive these magical moments as often as we wish....and we can pass these incredible performances on to our children and grandchildren.
You would see all the "Pavarotti and Friends" which were organized by Nicoletta Mantovani, Pavarotti's Wife, during many Years in Italy with many of the most famous International artists and which were all really marvellous!!!!! Miss them🙏
How enjoyable is this. It’s amazing that you don’t realize how beautiful the underlining, background music is of this song until Pavarotti pulls it out in front . Just gorgeous.
