Chasing cars has become my favourite aussie car review channel. Great presentation from Tom with informative details in everything about the car. Love the locale selections too 👍👍
I think the most critical point about this car is that you need to want to take it out on weekends on country trips. Its not built for suburbia, the power would go for naught and that suspension far too unforgiving for our city roads.
Nice review for what is a reasonably priced hot SUV compared to BMW & Mercedes. For some reason the Q2 has never had electric seats even as an option and lack of rear vents means it is certainly showing its age. The Green Apple paint is different and attractive. I would have one!
Great review, I like the car but I reckon non adaptive dampers & no cross traffic alert would be deal breakers. Driving a golf & I'm shocked how good those 2 things are.
Love the exterior colour and with a tan interior it would be awesome - glad we can get a SQ2 here as favourite Audi Q series of their range and getting expensive here - hanging out for you to review mk8 Golf when it finally lands here :)
i like the dashboard in this sq2 much more than a new one in q3/rsq3..... even though 5cyl is 5cyl, i would probably choose sq2 with still more than enough power for daily driving.
Ahhhhh another bloody SUV Tom. Good review but don’t you think the interior needs an update? Compare it to the new Q3! Actually on that, my mate in Germany is picking up his new Audi Q3 TFSIe as I write…🤤😎
I realise Audi's current safety tech doesn't work with their previous flat bottom wheels, but do they realise that these new MASSIVE steering wheels impede leg room? I actually chose a Cupra over an Audi in this case (Ateca with same identical engine as SQ2) simply because of that behemoth in the Audi and my tall legs not sitting comfortably under it like they do in the Cupra. Poor choice Audi! In my mum's older model RSQ3 I can also fit like a glove with that lovely flat bottom wheel but the new one, same issue. Also, what's with REMOVING the rear armrest and cupholders seemingly only on Aussie models? Another reason I chose the Cupra. I have friends! No air con for them either in the Audi. Stupid! Third and most important reason was the adaptive dampers that the Audi lacks. In comfort mode on a long drive the Ateca soaks up everything, whereas Audi's "one fits all tune" is more akin to the Ateca's Cupra mode which is when you wanna fang it and handle, not when you want to comfortably haul a couple friends interstate. I drove these three cars (T Roc R was the third) back to back and front to back and then some to choose one, and besides the badge and a slightly more premium feeling interior of the Audi, the Cupra Ateca is simply the best car of all of them. It handles like a freaking go kart, the steering is SO direct, whereas the audi and troc feel sort of dead if that makes sense. YES, I did check the Formenta, the seating position sucked for me and my knees hit the steering wheel even with wheel right up and seat right down, Ateca I was incredibly comfy even at 6ft 4.
Cupra Ateca steeringwheel diameter = 370mm Audi =375mm. The pregnancy steering wheel can be ordered on a SQ2 as well. I am glad, that the SQ2 is available with classic clocks, black break calipers and a round steering wheel.
nice attempt at distorting but many cars already don t have spare wheel, and in this size not all also have rear air vents. and obviously a hater of germans has to pretend this isn t the regular version but the beefed up sport one

Thanks so much!
Yout got me at detailing the running cost section!! Very practical and amazing review mate!!
I have a Q2 40tfsi with the assistance pack and it has rear cross traffic alert and braking. Seems odd the SQ2 doesn't have it?
Hi, one day I would really like to see you making a video on AUS highways, just to see, how do they look and you driving like a maaaaad pearson.
Test driving one of these this Thursday.
We need more wagons in this world. Wagon life matters.
Good update for the Audi Q2 but Audi Q3 seemed to be a better option than a Q2. Nice backdrop of that stone bridge. Where is that location by the way?
Mona Farm near Canberra.
@@chasingcars Thank you.
Hi Tom and team! Any chance of an Audi S3 2022 Sedan review?
Shooting it next week!
An impressive vehicle, great review as always! I like the more conservative trim option, let the engine speak for itself.

Thanks Tom, interesting review, I would take a white one with standard wheels. Lack of a spare/space saver is a bit of a worry.

You are totally right, you need to commit to driving it on great roads on the weekend to make it all worthwhile
Hi Tom. How would you compare this to a Mini JCW Clubman at about the same price?
Has a bit more space but equals the pace of the S3, that can only be a great combination!
Such a car I would definitely buy . Waiting for the model year change to pick the missing safety equipment.
Great review. Can I ask the location of the stone bridge in the video?
Another great review, pretty much all the performance suv anyone needs
Not everyone wants an SUV. 🥱
My neighbor has a SQ2. It is a pretty practical yet sporty car. Very on trend as they say.
@@andrewd7586 Small minority, I'd take a wagon over an SUV any day as well
Another great video Tom, well thought out and easy to watch. You guys going to start shooting in 4k at some point?
It will definitely happen.
Great presentation as allways..
Great review!!! The SQ2 is a nice car however, it's not going to win any beauty contests!
Great review mate 💪 great sunnies too 🤣😜

Great job, love your reviews! For $62,000 and less power, I'll choose the Peugeot 3008 GT which drops the SQ2 in style, design, interior and comfort x
Great review, I like the car but I reckon non adaptive dampers & no cross traffic alert would be deal breakers. Driving a golf & I'm shocked how good those 2 things are.
Adaptive dampers would have been good.
Looks great in white, no spare wheel?, only a 3 year warranty.

Mk 8 reviews will be out on 11 June :)

There's still plenty to like about the Q2's interior.
Ahhhhh another bloody SUV Tom. Good review but don’t you think the interior needs an update? Compare it to the new Q3! Actually on that, my mate in Germany is picking up his new Audi Q3 TFSIe as I write…🤤😎
Yes and no. I like the rotary MMI and I think the thin slate screen still looks good! I’m not sure the Q3 screen is better - just different.
Nice car not sure about the hass avocado colour tho lol
And it has the better infotainment system, but the rear space is pretty meh for a vehicle costing over 60k
car prices are not directly correlated to space, otherwise even small minivans would be the most expensive things in the market, but nice try still

Now wireless carplay!? Why!!!?
It's Audi's old infotainment system.
@@chasingcars The new Mazda Mx-5 has got it and it's system is way older than Audi's. No excuse in 2021 imo... They are just being greedy/lazy!
Seems to be very noisy inside the cabin!
64k and the interior is still the old gen. No thx
Awesome car if you want a last generation S3 made taller and fugly.
VW T-ROK
God so beautiful. Wish US got these..
Skoda
The only reviewer who drives 60km/h on his reviews lol can't "feel" the power
Utter nonsense.
No rear air vents for 65k car ,then there’s no spare wheel.typical German car rip off.

Obsolete
Goddamn this is one ugly car...
