So do you think Joyose is good or bad? 😆 Apologies as the first part before the graphics settings was actually set to 45fps but was corrected after the graphics settings section to 60fps
After many years of testing kernels, I have realized that the famous "gpu turbo" that companies make is nothing more than a thermal profile intended to increase the TDP limit. In the case of MIUI with Snapdragon SoC, they use a Qualcomm profile called Game 2 for that purpose, obviously modified to suit the thermal design of the device. If you use a more aggressive profile like "Dynamic", or directly nuke the thermal limit leaving the one that Qualcomm uses (obviously taking into account the TJuntion and the voltage limit). I have tested for a long time the Dynamic profile on a Mi 9T Pro to not have thermal brake, it degraded my battery very fast to the point that it swelled and almost damaged the other components. Now that I have an Poco F3 that handles temperatures better with a heatpipe (surprisingly as efficient as a vapor chamber being cheap to implement), With the Dynamic profile and medium graphics I have a very stable 60fps, almost without any stutter. With the MIUI Profile there is a throttling of 20%, but the SoC temperature does not exceed 70 C and the battery remains at 45. Very good for a non-gamer phone. I could also talk about the lousy process management of the Unity graphics engine (Vulkan fixes that but still under development), but the point I want to get to is that you should not underestimate the decisions of the companies to apply a thermal brake. There is a lot at stake beyond just "gets a little hot". Good video, one of the few where the subject is actually discussed 😎
Thanks, thats a pretty sweet information, i was one week ago a normal user but now im really going in trying to find every information i can about all these terms, the bad about this is that we have to do this all on our own, the companies and youtubers dont talk about that very much so we have to go to plenty of sites and videos gathering information little by little, and you for sure is ahead of me. I'm asking that due to have seen some Reddit posts and another videos showing diferent behaviors on the f4 and f4 gt looking more like it was causing some sort of throttling in a lower temp with Joy on, so it would be quite interesting to see it in depth like some of your other videos, but nonetheless, this was already very insightful.

Joyose trash
I believe it is good, it limited my fps to 60 in pubg even when I selected 90 after disabling it went to 90 everytime no issues
When i hit 38°C it starts throttling and limiting my fps to 30, probably because i disabled memory extension. so I think it's worth it to disable
