- West Dog Teeth Hike is one of the hardest hike in Hong Kong, it is located in Lantau Island. It's inside the Lantau South Country Park. It's one of the 16 "high risks" locations for hikers and is notorious for three expert-level hiking trails leading into the summit of Lantau Peak.This video shows a complete guide, the direction on how to get to the hike, views and highlights. I have scaled trail alone three times and even stranded at the top one time on winter. Your friend's decision to give up at the start is considered wise decision. This trail is very dangerous and it is not fit for two types of hiker (a) NOT for beginner, or no experience on major hikes at all, (b) NOT to those who are afraid of heights. Proper planning and preparation and total concentration is a MUST! Your mindset in doing this serious trail must be 80% safety first then 20% Vlog. This must be a different commnet you got Ms, Jovelyn just a practical advice, nothing personal. PEACE!

You can also go to ngong ping and walk to wisdom path then walk down the shek pik country trail. Its more easy because your going down not climbing. Conserve the energy for the real climb. West dog is more easy compare to the middle dog. Try it next time.

@@OFFROAD_HUNTER thanks at marami pinay nag enjoy mag hike. To prevent accident on the trail buy a real hiking shoes not the one use for marathon. Dont buy those nike shoes or adidas. Try new balance all terrain, salomon, asic all terrain or hokka. I use salomon for trail running and asic for normal hiking. I only hike on saturday and holiday. Maybe i can go with your group next time.

Yes, they offer those tour too. It's just that, your time is limited when you visit one island, they have this island hopping thing.

I advice all filipina hikers to buy a real hiking shoes not the running shoes for marathon.
100% correct! I got one that's going to break soon, need a new one, but yeah It does help a lot, I feel safe with the hiking shoes!:-)

Yes, then if you continue hiking from Lantau Peak to Pak Kung Au is longer. You might want to check my "Lantau Peak" hike, that's the continuation. You can also see the West Dog Teeth from Lantau Peak hike.
