- So…. Was it worth it? I ask myself this question a lot. Was it worth modding my car and ditching the warranty, was it worth adding 300+ more RWHP? Did I make the right call with the cam, exhaust, and ProCharger? I go through my build from when I began and answer these questions.
Depending on the dyno I now have a 700+ rwhp car that has everything I wanted and she screams. I have the capability to go beyond 1,000rwhp, but this is a daily driver, and getting that 1k club badge would cost probably another $5k-8k… I am okay with the 700 club 😉

Damn I'm actually glad I got the 2018 1SS LE.
I have a 17 SS 1LE I plan on sticking with the warranty. But my plan is to save a nice chunk of money on the side until the warranty is done. I will have the motor pulled and do all the upgrades in one shot. I want N/A power and around 500 to the wheels. I want to re create the past z28 and keep it all motor. Half of the reason is the power other half is sound. I think it's better financially to just pull it and do the work all at once

Thank you for the content and owner perspective. I haven't even had my '18 SS 1LE 3 weeks yet and already thinking about future performance upgrades. I appreciate the comments on an N/A build. I will more than likely go that route after I pay off the majority of the car. Really looking forward to seeing a video of your car when you get it back from Cunningham Motorsports!
I also have a 2016 2ss I'm modding. Last year was Magnuson SC / ARH headers / ZL1 wheels & tires - and yes, I enjoyed what you said in this video about doing SC first. It was a fun sleeper. People would pull up next to me at a light not knowing I was sitting on 200hp more than advertised. This year, my car is at Lingenfelter getting cammed and everything that comes with - cai, ported intake, etc. I'm also adding a RPI blade spoiler as soon as the build is done. I like that you did a "is it worth it" video. Mods can be addictive and easy to get carried away with. Something to mention is that it's important to know when to say when. You see cars out there that were great looking at the dealer, then the owner got carried away and turned into a clown car. I think you - and hopefully I - knew when to stop. Just a little lesson to new modders out there.

All of your videos have helped me do what I never imagined I thought I could do to a car myself without having to pay someone else. It's been fun and there is still so much left to do(and learn). It's totally been worth it!

I've been preparing my S10 Extreme for an LS until I get a Camaro. Same since I subbed but getting great idea's watching your build. Never ends does it. It's like walking through a desert looking for water. LOL. I'm always getting held back with motorcycles.
Have thoroughly enjoyed watching you build this car. Been following since shortly after you started. I literally have some 3 mods to my 2015 1LE and my car makes nearly 500whp...and it was cheap. Love my LS3 but the new ZL1 is awfully tempting!
Watching you go through all your mods made me Jones for a Camaro SS however, due to having bad shoulders along with two young boys I decided to just get a 2015 ZL1 already set up and ready to go! Love your channel and watching what you did to your car!

where and/or how can I learn about the mechanics of a Camaro. No one in my family is or was a mechanic, I'd love to learn everything of a Camaro (mod, upgrading and all of that kind of stuff) as long it's my dream car.
Amazing build, watching these videos I kinda wish I would have gone for the SS instead of the LT. I love my Camaro, and the 3.6 has power, maybe one day. Keep up the great work!
Matt-i feel like I'm your east coast brother. When i found your channel, i already had the cam, kooks exhaust, and cai. I love the sound and didn't want to lose it with a turbo. Imo I don’t see the point of doing all this things to it if you don’t race it. I got a SS just because I like the body shape and it has some good power
I love that I am slowly upgrading my 2016 RS. I was thinking of doing a turbo charger but I may just get a crate engine from GM as they are pretty much the same price without the hassle of worrying the turbo will blow or screw up my motor. Plus I love that fact the V6 is lighter and can be a sleeper.

Did the same with my S550. I dynoed 682 rwhp with a Roush/VMP upgrade. My mustang has been modded to the max. Only thing I did not do was cams. I did it this way because I did not want the GT350 because of the price gouging the dealers were doing. But I agree, the car is yours at the end of the day. Great satisfaction and respect for the effort.

First I would like to say. AWESOME VIDEOS! Being a evo owner could you do a comparison of a 15 Mitsubishi evo mr vs your car ... I am looking to getting a SS and kinda go in your direction rather then just by a zl1... more of a connection build

I have a 15 2ss and i'm trying to keep my warranty. everything i'm seeing about warranty is that the dealership has to prove the upgrade caused a problem on the car. But, i'm still skeptical about it.
I want a Camaro SS but Chevy keeps changing the body and parts every other year so I don't know when to pull the trigger on that and buy

I have the 2SS 1LE what do you think of roto fab cold air, ported mdt atomic, bigger throttle body, cam, headers. What different cams and headers do you recommend? Thanks I. Advance
I’m not versed in cams and specs as much as I should be, but a lot of Brian Tooley off the shelf stuff is great. Roto Fab is the only CAI I recommend. MSD Atomic is hit or miss pending the tune, but pair all you outlined with a ported set of heads as well and you have a nice power plant ready to rock.

U should do a dry sump oil system... What do u do for a living if u don't mind me asking? I mean like your profession
still not sure getting an exhaust over the stock NPP exhaust is really worth it... on my '17 SS 1LE the only mods I made is tinted windows, tinted back and front reflector, tinted 3rd brake light and installed a dash cam after a close call with a jackass cutting me on the highway.... so yeah I'm still stock. I do plan on getting performance intake in april, after storing the camaro for winter, and headers do tickle my mind also. but after going balls to the wall with my previous 240sx, I'm kinda content with my 1LE like she is right now and I do ramp up the milleage instead of moddind. ;)
Does these mods affect insurance?
I live in So Cal and don't want to bother having to remove the long tube headers every time i'm up for smog. What would you recommend for exhaust and headers? Is it worth buying shorty's or is it pointless?
The car has factory shorties if you have a 6th Gen Camaro. But if your worries about smog, axle back is your best bet
Do you notice the pro charger in the low end? I really don't get on the gas where I live, but would like a stronger kick in the pants to feel between 2-3K rmp. Just for something extra for DD.
@sinister 6.2 if u go back to the video when he got the car back he says that u don’t really feel/notice it until ur 3k+ in RPMS

CAI, Full exhaust, upper and lower pully adjustments, tune and probably E85. If you want to break into the motor, cam and a few other bits would be fun to adjust as well.

Charles Ousley E85 would be a worthy upgrade
GM just released some cylinder heads and cam upgrade for the 6th gen.
Their hot cam setup isn't bad, but their heads could be a lot better.
I agree with that I will be going with Vengeance Racing parts. I started off with the Rotofab intake and replaced the whole suspension with BMR. Added the Mishimoto radiators and the vengeance racing thermostat, MSD Intake manifold, Kooks long tube headers with the Magnaflow competition cat back and race muffler delete. Cars at 528 hp and 526 torque

+Artie Rodriguez ZL1 didn’t Exist when I got my car. And I think it’s funny people get all butt hurt that I spent less money to upgrade my car to have just about 200 more horsepower to the tires.
