As a European, Jazz Jackrabbit 2 was my childhood and I know nothing about the Sonic games. It's really weird for me to see 'Zelda' and 'Sonic' pop up as the things that foreigners were most nostalgic about from gaming in decades past.
Yeah as a kid I had much more experience with DOS games than anything else. And I feel like that segment of games are just completely missing from most gaming conversations that seem to entirely revolve around Sega and Nintendo eternally.
