Ага, я тоже подсевшая, как и на кофе.😊 Последнее время некоторые песни стали пророческими для меня. People are people я слушала 23.02.22. Depeche Mode
it's not normal how much feeling Martin brings in this song (watch the end of the video when he sings "Somebody". WOW!!! I was crying. and I love Martin more and more.
It brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it; It was the first song played at my wedding in 1990. Unfortunately the marriage didn't last and we separated and divorced. That's not the end of the story, though. In April we celebrate our 1st anniversary second time around and Somebody was the 1st song played at our wedding this time too. My "Somebody" was there all along and we went to see Depeche Mode on Wednesday night, in Birmingham aged 56 and I felt like I was 16 again.
This is hilarious.. not seen this before.. Interesting to see Alan playing with just the Jupiter 8 and not the Emulator II and JP8 combo he used for the later SGR tour
There was a fantastic atmosphere at this gig. This was one of THE best Oxford Road Show 'live' concerts we ever did and was well worth the journey from our BBC Manchester HQ. I can't believe this was 38 years ago - happy days ! Producer: Colin Adams Director: Peter Hamilton P.A: Joy Monks Prod Mgr: Christopher Miles Vision Mixer: Paul Walker
A Vision Mixer works with the Director, either to a shot-listed script, with every camera 'cut' given a number, which is then relayed to the camera guys/girls by the P.A. from either a studio production control room, or as in this case, from a truck (effectively a mobile control room) which was parked outside the venue. This particular event was unscripted and was 'busked' by Director Peter Hamilton, PA Joy Monks, & Vision Mixer, Paul Walker - all based at BBC North on Oxford Road (as was !) in Manchester. You'll see the inside of this truck with Peter, Joy, and Paul in the video.
I was at this gig, not far from the front if I remember correctly. Great gig. I have seen them every tour since. Suffice to say that the PVC trousers I got from Oasis the weekend before were sopping wet at the end. Looked good but very sweaty :-)
A document is from CTA tour 83 but the last two songs were played as live performance in studio in Whistle Test, as a new single promo gig in 84..very rare for me..
omg, i have this show in awful quality. never tought there was a better version of it. do you happen to have another full and old concerts? please share!!! thanks for this, god bless
Kind of interesting seeing Dave wearing a business like suit while performing onstage, normally during this time period I see Dave wearing a buttoned shirt and leather pants.
Does anyone know what kind of disk device all three players have on the keys on the right? See it very well in time 34:38. I'm guessing it's some Pad...
In September of 1984 Depeche Mode released their fourth album, "Some Great Reward", with the tracks "Somebody" and "Blasmemous Rumours". Can anyone tell me how this concert can be dated on 03.02.1984, in full tour of the "Construction Tour" that began on September 7, 1983 in Hitchin (United Kingdom), and ended on June 2, 1984?
From “My Wikipedia”: “Depeche Mode was an English band that was active from 1981 to 1993. After the departure of Alan Wilder (against his will), the band continued using the same name but doing a totally different kind of music”. Conclusion: Alan is bigger than the band itself.
Llaify Ok, HE LEFT but he wanted to stay. He loved the band and dedicated years of his life to it but was treated by the others as a mere musician. Musically, he saved Depeche Mode when Vince Clarke left.
Well, they even show posters in this vid with the date Feb 2nd 1984!!! Actually there were a couple of gigs in early 1984 which were technically still part of the CTA tour. In spring/summer 1984 they recorded SGR and toured with it from autumn.
I went to that concert, my 2nd Depeche mode concert, the first was in 83 in Sheffield. Still support them today
Within 1 second of watching this video and listening to their music, my youth has come back
1984 is a great year for MUSIC ! ! !
Wow, I can't believe this is almost 40 years ago. I saw several acts perform at the Birmingham Odeon including Hall and Oats. Now I feel Old !!! 😞
This is incredible footage. Love seeing DM in their youth. Alan all hands-on even with lighting. Awesome.
Missing Alan so much 😭😭😭😭

agreed, was never the same without Alan

@Brock Smoltz after 1993, the songs are not so interesting

The last two tracks aren’t from the main performance recorded here. They were recorded on Nov. 6, 1984, for the BBC’s "Old Grey Whistle Test” show.
