    The 13 A plugs in the granny chargers have temperature sensors in them and will shut off the charging if they get too hot.

    We have been using granny charger to charge x2 EV for over 5 years, never had a problem with overload etc

      I use the same idea with my two ev’s. I do have an inline type A power breaker (rated at 13A) for extra protection though.

    You cant get 16A from a 13A socket...

      A 'Granny charger' only draws 10A max so 2.4Kw, perfectly OK if the circuit/socket is in good condition.

      Yes I agree, what I failed to mention is that there is a 13 amp fused connection unit feeding the supply to the socket.
