@@AllAboutAmiBlog Hi! quick question: when I seem the sleeves and attach them, do I turn it all "inside out" so that the wrong sides are facing up like when I whip stitched the squares together? You're very welcome! That's amazing how this will be your second crochet project! Yes some people have added buttons and button holes to the collar! Depending on the size of your button, you could chain 2 or 3 and skip some stitches to make the holes!
Your patterns are great and so easy to follow. I just wanted to know how to convert this into a kids size. I want to make one for my 1year old and 4 year old. Thanks.
Thank you for your very kind words and feedback! The easiest way to convert this pattern for children’s sizes is to substitute worsted weight level 4 yarn ☺️ Someone followed the size small pattern to make a size 3T for their child!
I want to use cotton yarn instead of acrylic as I want a more airy feel to it and it feels more comfortable on my skin. But I could not find a #5 bulky yarn in 100% cotton, I could only find a #4. How do I substitute everything with #4 yarn? Thanks a lot, I really want to make this sweater.
Hi there! You can join the “Cozy Days Daisy Crochet-Along” Facebook group to see what people did to use level 4 yarn! Some people made more squares or tried to make each square larger.
Hi! I make your granny square blanket (and It's so pretty❤)and now I want to make this cardigan ,please how many balls of yarn did you use and what is the size of the yarn (10mm?)?(sorry for my bad english and thank you for always replying fast to my comments)
Hi there! I’m so happy to hear that you made the granny square blanket! You can see the complete materials list in the pattern (free on my blog)! It shows you exactly how much yarn you need depending on your size (I have written out the pattern for 8 different sizes, Small - 5X). The yarn I used is a bulky level 5 yarn (same as the blanket) 🧶👍🏻
I love this pattern but I’m having trouble with the sleeves. my granny squares only came out to be about 5 inches long, and the sleeves are too short. but not even 7 inch long granny squares would cover my arms fully. should I just make some more granny squares for each sleeve?
Keep in mind that part of the front and back panels are supposed to curve down past your shoulders to become part of the sleeve since this is a drop shoulder design (this contributes to the sleeve length)! But if your squares are only 5” versus my 7”, then yes you will need to add more granny squares for each sleeve 🧶
Generally when I whip stitch, I like to have the wrong sides of the granny squares facing me so that the seam is less visible on the right side. However, it’s totally okay if you seamed with the right side out and you like the way it looks 👍🏻
Aww thanks so much for your support and encouragement 🥰 I am wearing a size small in the pictures! I’ve written up the pattern for sizes Small - 5X in the pattern on my blog 🧶
Thank you for the comprehensive tutorial! So lovely! By the way, do you think I can do without the sleeves? (i.e vest) Also, would Aran yarn turn out alright too? Cheers, from Singapore :)
You’re very welcome! Thank you for your kind words 💖 Yes you could totally make a vest by not attaching sleeves ☺️ Some people have used Aran yarn and adjusted the pattern - you can join the Facebook group (the “Cozy Days Daisy Cardigan Crochet-Along”) to see how theirs turned out!
Thank you for the pattern, I made all my granny squares and I'm starting to assemble my cardigan ! I have a question which might be a bit stupid idk but i'm a beginner 😅 When seeming the granny squares together, how do you secure the ends of the piece or yarn that you used ?
The number of granny squares depends on the size! My size small uses 23 granny squares (you can see how many you need for each size in the pattern)! Some beginners have attempted this cardigan and been successful, but I classified it as a level 2 easy pattern as some previous crochet experience would be beneficial 👍🏻
Beautiful!! 😍😍 I'd love to make one for myself and my daughter who is 3 y/o. Would it be possible to translate the pattern for a toddler sized cardigan?
Thank you so much for your kind words 💕 Yes people have been making this cardigan for their toddlers by substituting worsted weight level 4 yarn! Someone followed the size small pattern for their 3 year old 😊
Its so pretty! But I just can understand how to fasten off the whip stitch. Do you just leave the tail hanging after the last stitch? When adding the double crochet to the panels (to widen) I don’t have a “stitch” between the squares 😢
Thanks so much 💖 I like to weave in that tail after I’ve seamed the squares together so I can weave the tail into the seams too 😊 You pick up a stitch between the squares where you did the seaming!

I fear I made a mistake. Can you do this with different color squares? And then one color for the collar, ribbed sleeves and ribbed bottom? I wanted a cute color block look but now dont know how I will whip stitch them together, like what color thread to use to whip stitch…

I have all of the squares made but could you make a video about blocking the squares? Everyone just says to block but no one shows how or what method works best for that yarn type.
I personally blocked the squares after seaming (not individually) as I found that my squares were all fairly even and uniform already! If you want to block the individual squares, you can pin them onto foam mats and use a steamer to block them. Some people fully submerge them in water and then pin them onto foam mats to dry!
You can check the materials section of the pattern (free on my blog) to see how many grams of yarn are required for all the different sizes (written for sizes Small - 5X) 🩷
Hello! Love this pattern so much. Just finished my cardigan and am obsessed! Wondering recommended way to clean/ maintain this wool cardigan? Thank you!
Thanks so much for the love! Congrats on finishing 💖 If you’re using the same yarn that I did, this yarn is machine washable! I would wash on the gentle cycle, possibly in a laundry bag, and then lay flat to dry!
I seamed the sleeves to the body while the pieces were inside out! As you seam around the sleeve, sometimes the cardigan will be upside down and sometimes the cardigan will be right side up!
I used bulky level 5 yarn for this cardigan! The number of yarn balls varies depending on the size - I have written the pattern for 8 different sizes (Small - 5X). You can reference the pattern (free on my blog) to see the number of required yarn balls 🧶
What are the dimensions of each granny square? And what size hook do U use. I want to make a modified one for myself but want to make sure I don't buy more than I need for materials
I’m a little confused about 3:36 and 5:11 because on the front panels you double crocheted all three of the panels, but when you sewed it on, it only showed 2 of the panels were double crocheted and left one for the arm hole. So should I double crochet along all of them or just two? It might be kind of confusing to read, so mind my grammar
Hi there! At 3:36, I was demonstrating how to add width to the front panels - not all the sizes require this, only the ones that need added width (the chart in the pattern shows which sizes need added width). When it is time to seam the front panel to the back panel, you whip stitch them together (you don’t double crochet them together). You leave a space for the arm hole as this is where you will add the sleeve! The chart in the pattern shows you how much of an arm hole you should leave for each size too.
You can totally weave in the ends whenever you want! I personally like to leave that last end and weave it in later, but I know other people like to weave in all the ends right away!
My sister found this and I’m going to make 3 of them for me and her and my other sister. I HAVE A QUESTION if I want to make it longer like right above the knee do I just need to make more granny squares? Will that affect anything as far as the sleeves go?
Ahhh that’s so exciting how you’ll be making so many! If you want to make them longer, you can just add more granny squares as you said (each of my squares was 7”). It should not affect anything else like the sleeves!
You can see all that info in the materials section of the pattern - it’s free on my blog 🩷 You’ll need varying amounts depending on what size you make (Small - 5X). The yarn is called “Hue + Me” 🧶
I have a question. My sister ask me to make this for her but she wants me o do it in cotton yarn. What are your thoughts on that and will this pattern work with cottons was going to use 2 cakes of yarn for more thickness because I am making the cardigan sweater
You can definitely try using cotton yarn! You can check out my Facebook group called the “Cozy Days Daisy Cardigan” - some people have used cotton or thinner yarns to make their cardigans in there 💖
You can find the link to the granny square video in the description of this video! It’s called the “Cozy Days Daisy Blanket” (they use the same granny squares) 💖
Hi all, I'm a little confused about the large sized cardigan. I've sewn the front panels to the back panel, but i havent sewn the shoulders yet. The instructions say to ONLY add width to one side of the front panel. However, wouldn't this make the shoulders uneven/unsymmetric?
Hi there! Since you are adding width to BOTH sides of the back panel, if you add width to ONE side of each front panel, it should be even/symmetrical when you sew them together!
You’ll need between 23-35 granny squares depending on your size (the pattern is written for sizes small - 5X)! You can reference the chart in the free pattern on my blog 😊👍🏻
You can reference the written and photo pattern on my blog! It shows you step by step what to do after you’ve seamed all the granny squares together 👍🏻
Thanks for supporting my work! If your bottom ribbing is fanning out, you’re likely doubling the amount of rows. Be sure to work the slip stitches in the NEXT two stitches along the bottom (both of them should be unworked, meaning there are no stitches coming out of them). If you work the slip stitch into the same stitch you came from, you’ll be doubling the amount of rows, which would cause it to fan out!
Thank you! That was the exact problem! I used a stitch marker to make sure I was always using the next unworked stitch and it turned out perfect, thank for saving me from frogging the ribbing yet again!
Oh I’m glad we could pinpoint what was happening! You’re very welcome 💖 Great idea to use a stitch marker to indicate the unworked stitch! 👍🏻 Thanks for letting me know!
Hi! I've been working on this pattern the past couple days and when I go to your website, it says your website is down! Can't view the pattern at all!😮
Thanks so much for letting me know! I’ve emailed my blog host to see what is going on: all of my most recent posts since May 2023 have disappeared 😩 I’m assuming they did some sort of update and perhaps something happened and they had to revert it back to an earlier version of my blog. I’m waiting to hear back from them to see what to do next (since it’s the weekend and the holidays, hopefully it won’t be too long). So sorry that the posts are gone and you can’t access them as you’re working on the cardigan!
I've written out how to crochet this cardigan for 8 different sizes in the pattern (free on my blog)! You can reference the blog post to see how to crochet the XL cardigan!
Hi! When discussing the sleeve length, you say for sizes with added width to "Pick up one stitch for each row of added double crotchets". Can you please expand what you mean by this? I am fairly new to crotchet/patterns and am unsure if you mean to just add that many more rows of DC to the length of the sleeve or something entirely different. Thanks!!
Thanks for asking! Some of the sizes have added width (rows of double crochet stitches). When it’s time to pick up stitches to increase the length of the sleeves, you can pick up one double crochet stitch for each row of double crochet stitches that was added for the width. For example, if two rows of double crochet stitches were added for the width, you would pick up two extra stitches when picking up stitches for the length!
You know how at the 13:03 mark I demonstrate how to add length to the sleeves? I am inserting my hook into each stitch and also into the seam. For the sizes with added rows to increase the width, you will insert your hook into the side of the double crochet stitch and work one double crochet stitch. Since there is no “V” or front and back loops there (since it’s the side of the double crochet stitch), that is called “picking up a stitch”! Which size are you making? Does your size have the added double crochet rows for width?
I’m making 2x but that explanation makes sense!! Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions. I’ve been loving this pattern and can’t wait for the finished cardigan 😍

It’s linked in the description box! The video is called the “Cozy Days Daisy Blanket” 😊👍🏻
Did you knitt the sleeves to the body being all upside down?
I seamed the sleeves to the body while the pieces were inside out! As you seam around the sleeve, sometimes the cardigan will be upside down and sometimes the cardigan will be right side up!
how many yarn balls have you used? and what thickness
The dimensions of each square is: 7”/18 cm x 7”/18 cm! I used an 8 mm hook 🧶
@@AllAboutAmiBlogthanks!
Yay!! Can’t wait to make this ❤
Thanks so much! I’m glad you’re excited 💖
I just finished my last square and about to move on to blocking. was I not supposed to weave in the ends of each square?
You can totally weave in the ends whenever you want! I personally like to leave that last end and weave it in later, but I know other people like to weave in all the ends right away!
@@AllAboutAmiBlogthank you!!
I've just finished knitting the squares, do you recommend to block them before or after seaming them?
All of my squares were fairly even and uniform, so I did not block them individually before seaming!
@@AllAboutAmiBlog Thank you for your answer! 🙂
@@AllAboutAmiBlog Thank you so much I am a fan of your work✝️
hey if u could tell me how much yarn (in grams) did you use for this? and what type? :))
You can see all that info in the materials section of the pattern - it’s free on my blog 🩷 You’ll need varying amounts depending on what size you make (Small - 5X). The yarn is called “Hue + Me” 🧶
How Big should the Granny squares be? I used an other yarn, it‘s not that thick
My daisy granny squares are 7”/18 cm x 7”/18 cm 🌼
Is this a video of actually doing the squares?
You can reference the “Cozy Days Daisy Blanket” UA-cam video to see how to crochet the actual squares! It’s linked in the description box ☺️👍🏻
How many squares do I need to make a 4x ?? This is pretty 😍
You’ll need to make 26 squares for the size 4X! You can see all the details in the pattern 💕👍🏻
Is that just for the back panel
@@alishacoffey9802That’s for the entire cardigan (back panel, front panels and sleeves)!
Ok thank you....
I got bigger upper arms how can I make the arm whole bigger so it's not so tight on my arms....wider sleeves??
I have a question. My sister ask me to make this for her but she wants me o do it in cotton yarn. What are your thoughts on that and will this pattern work with cottons was going to use 2 cakes of yarn for more thickness because I am making the cardigan sweater
You can definitely try using cotton yarn! You can check out my Facebook group called the “Cozy Days Daisy Cardigan” - some people have used cotton or thinner yarns to make their cardigans in there 💖
@@AllAboutAmiBlog I just joined the FB group and saw lots of good stuff I can do. Thank you so much.

I cant find a video for making these granny squares?
Can you please make a video about how to shape the face of the fleece rabbit that is your website, because I don't understand it.
Thanks for letting me know! I will add that to my list of videos I’ll try to make in the future 👍🏻
What is the size of 1 granny square patch is it 4x4 or 5x5
I used bulky level 5 yarn, so each granny square was 7”/18 cm x 7”/18 cm ☺️👍🏻
so in total how many daisy granny squares
You’ll need between 23-35 granny squares depending on your size (the pattern is written for sizes small - 5X)! You can reference the chart in the free pattern on my blog 😊👍🏻
How many granny squares do you need in total?
It varies depending on your size! The pattern is written for sizes S-5X, and you can find the free pattern on my blog 💖
Can you please make a full tutorial for the patchwork??

@@AllAboutAmiBlog no,I need a full tutorial of the patchwork you do after making and sewing all the granny squares together 😀

Oh! Thanks!!! 🫶🏻
Hi! I bought the cardigan pattern and I am working on the ribbing and it’s fanning out - is it an issue with my tension or does it need to be blocked?
Can't view the pattern at all!😮
Same here. I screen shotted the steps though. I could send them to you if you like.

Hello. what yarn size? What size hook are you using to create these squares? Thanks for your reply!
Hi there! I used bulky level 5 yarn with an 8 mm hook - you can see all the materials I used in the materials section of the pattern on my blog ❤️
What yarn is used for this
I used Hue + Me yarn by Lion Brand for this cardigan 💕
I’m lost on what is meant by “pick up a stitch” 😅 google just points me to a lot of knitting videos/websites
