I love your channel! I think your videos are so refreshing in comparison to a lot of the other tropical plant channels. In particular hearing about all the different pants that you're interested in, nice break from the aroid focus of lots of other channels
Great video!! My Mandevilla did produce 2 seed pods and I planted some seeds about 2 weeks ago. We’ll see how they go. My next set I’ll follow your directions. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks! You're lucky to get any seed pods as they're very rare. Mine hasn't produced any in 4 years. Good luck with them and I hope they germinate for you.🤞
What do you do with the pods? I have some that are still green and a few that have already popped open. I’d like to save them and use them but I do t have a clue what to do with the pods.
Any idea how long I should wait until the pods open? I have the plant indoors now for the winter, and the pots still don't feel dry, but very alive. The plant is undergoing a wintersleep like every year, by dropping many leaves.
What is that beautiful tree over your left shoulder at the beginning of the video. At first I thought it might be an "umbrella tree" or schefflera, but on looking at one on another video for comparison, no. The foliage is very attractive and just screams TROPICAL! Please respond with a reply, thanks. Dale Andrews, Lake Charles, LA in the United States. 🌴
Yeah that's actually Begonia - specifically Begonia luxurians - you can hear all about on this video: ua-cam.com/video/1O68n8Z-GmI/v-deo.html It's one of my favourites and I've found it pretty easy to look after providing you can give it certain conditions of course. Hope you manage to get hold of one.
Mandevilla and Dipladenia are the same genus - more correctly, they're all Mandevilla (Dipladenia was retired in 1933) but the name persists. It's worth trying to germinate a few - mine are vining already. Fingers crossed for some blooms soon.
If it looks like a mushroom then you have fungus in your potting media. It shouldn’t harm your seeds but if you don’t want it there you’ll have to start shading with fresh compost.
They can't possibly take years to flower from seed or the plants would be so much more expensive. I would say, however long they take to bloom from a cutting, add 1/3. So if they bloom in 6 months from cutting, then 8-9 months from seed.
I was dubious but he said it with such certainty! I guess we’ll find out for sure as I’ll keep some in the Hothouse and some in the greenhouse. By the way, I’ve just bought an Anthurium waraqueanum for £60. Bargain compared to most others currently on sale.
My plant went to seed. I harvested them nearly three years ago and had great luck when I planted them. (I will say that just when I'd given up on their survival, they popped up) Now, almost three years later, these babied, loved plants are less than ten inches long and have yet to bloom. The bottom of the stem has hardened to look like a bulbous trunk, but the plants still look like babies. So, yes, in my experience they're verrrry slow growing. Hope I live to see them bloom. ;) I'll be so proud! Do you think I should pinch them as they are long slender stalks?

So nice of you! I'm really pleased to hear you're enjoying them.😁
@@Grow_Up_Man55 more than welcome! Just ordered some of these seeds myself!

.Great video ! 🌿😊🌿 Plants are the best, specially the people behind them 🌿🤩🌿 You got a new sub from Denmark☀️🌿😊🇩🇰
Thanks - and welcome Patrick! Hope the sun is shining today over there in Denmark.🌞
Great video!!! I love mandevilla. I lost mine to stinking pests last year. Great info thank you
Glad it was helpful! Sorry to hear you lost yours. So far (touch wood!) I've not had any pest attacks on mine.🤞
I guess I was lucky....I have seeds! I keep them inside in winter and on my deck in summer.
Lovely, I have 5 seedpods this year on 1 plant
Oh nice!

Love your videos
Thanks Patricia! 😀

What a gorgeous plant 💚
I would love to grow that!
I'm just strapped for finances right now 😔
The seeds are only a couple of dollars. Better if someone could send you cuttings for free though!
My pink ones have given me quite a few seeds but none on the White or red. (Dipladenia)
I only have 1 red Mandavilla.

Why are something look like a mushroom in my mandivilla pots that started as seeds?

@@Grow_Up_Man55 Thanks for your response. Could I use a triple fertilizer to kill it?
Thanks and HAPPY HOLIDAYS
@@LovieandLovelle1975 I've never heard of fertiliser killing fungus to be honest. Just repot it.

@@Grow_Up_Man55 "I've just bought"
Oh dear, I fear I've created a monster. But, indeed, that is a bargain. I hope it isn't a tiny thing.
It’s from a chonk. Looks pretty decent compared to the hand that’s holding it. She’s probably got the world’s smallest hands.

Any blooms yet? :-)
Yes - once I got my grow-light issue fixed the blooms are coming again. They need as much light as possible.
@@Grow_Up_Man55 That's wonderful! Did you get the blooms within the first year of growing the vine? It looks like you posted that video 2 years ago...
Yeah got blooms within the first year of growth. I gave them away though as gifts.
