AgroGas - India's First BioCNG for Vehicles

- Primove Engineering, Pune, India, has invented a technology to convert agro residue (biomass) to AgroGas (BioCNG). AgroGas has the potential to replace all transportation fuels and substantially reduce India's fuel imports.
It is important to note, AgroGas plants can be set up anywhere regardless of its proximity to agro residue.
Our Promise: Vehicles can run on AgroGas without loss of power, drivability, comfort and fuel efficiency.
AgroGas can be used for variety of applications. AgroGas is "The Fuel of the Future".
I was looking for this Technology after hearing Shri Nitin Gadkariji on the same on the floor of Lok Sabha. I am impressed at the Presentation and am looking to Associate with the same with our Overseas Partners. Thank You.

Can this be used directly without any modifications to a cng car
The technology is not new and if I am not wrong, it is century old. One of my friend installed bio-gas plant in our village using cow dung and other agri-wastes as raw materials. He used generated bio-gas for cooking and illumination of his house during night. Although, this project was for his own domestic use and was non-commercial.
I want to know what is the calorific value (CV) of BCNG.

Of course it would cost lesser because it is not a fossil fuel which will finish within few years but it can be produced continuously out of agricultural waste.

How can one store that much volume of stubble for the whole year..? If it is only operational for two months during the cutting season , what will it use during the rest 10 months..?
Energy farming (bamboo, Napier grass) should be encouraged to address this issue, to ensure round the year supply of biomass
You can use any agro-based wastes even cow dung, kitchen wastes (non-cooked), plant leaves etc. If you can collect domestic wastes (not plastic) from every flats/ quarter of a colony/ township or from firms/ gardens, then there will be no scarcity of raw materials for plant operation through out the year. Some municipal corporation are using this technology to generate bio-gas power and supplying to grid. For further information you can visit one of their plants to acquire more knowledge in this regard.

the concept seems to be great but how are you trying to achieve sales of CNG as currently in India BioCNG regulations are not so defined also The guidelines relating to grant of rights to entities for sale of CNG as transportation fuel through CNG Stations to promote setting up of several CNG stations in various cities/towns across the country, including along highways is still awaiting from Ministry
New biofuel policy has been unveiled on October 1. Subsidy of RS 7 crores for a plant with capacity more than 70 tons. Government oil companies will buy the gas produced at rate of 46rs/ kg

You are right. There is no problem, if you generate bio-gas on non-commercial basis that means you can meet your domestic demand. Many farmers in west bengal, punjab, haryana using their domestic wastes to meet their LPG demand on non-commercial basis.

But you should have covered the economic whether it is cheaper that CNG or not? How much raw material is needed ? Time taken to produce it amount of electricity consumption coat of setting up the plant why don't you tie up with Indra prasth in delhi supply them. Than you will not need capital intensive infra. It would be better if you sell these to industries restraunt if economically viable or convert into electricity and sell it to govt
