Some people know how to get on here and make a video that you can stand to watch and just give you the info you need to know and do it well....like this gentleman....well done.
My brother and I got it done using this vid on a DT40, thumbs up. Took about a half hour
Thanks a lot D ray, I really appreciate what your doing here. This has really helped me out with my dt15 suzuki!
Thank you for posting this as I have the same outboard and I did the water pump also. It’s a
fairly easy install as you showed in your video. Nice and simple and to the point without a bunch of talking for an hour like some videos on UA-cam. 👍
Thank you D-Ray for a very educative video! Helped me change the impeller on my DT20.
👍🏻 I really liked this video. Well spoken, great advice and the camera quality was perfect. Oh and thanks for not having the music loud like others.
Very professional, very helpful. Tanks a lot!
Thank you from France :)
Great video !
Good video. Easy to follow and understand.
Your video was awesome. Thank you for the detailed & easy to follow instructions. Your video genuinely helped me today!!!!
Thank you very much Mr. D-Ray. Your instructions are great :) best greetings.
Thanks 🙏
I used all your tip for my dt30 !!
Great video. Very helpful.
Great video , very helpful . Thanks !
Thx mate. Easy to understand instructions made this much easier. Appreciate too much information often confuses. So as a addon, I'd like to add some things I found when I took this on. prep is so important, clean faces, ports and channels and parts with none corrosive cleaners (white spirits are good). Inspect spline and shaft for damage. A incorrect or forced installation would of caused uneven wear. Remember a little bit of grease goes a long way for a long time. Don't go over board using sealants its not rocket science or needed. A even, opposite and firm hand tightening is all that's warranted.
Nice camera work! Nice Job!
Thanks very much from the uk, helped me a lot.
Very educational video, thanks.
Smashing :-)
Oh yes, well worth the extra money for the parts, nothing worn or leaky :-)
Nice professional tutorial :-)
Great video!
Nice video currently changing impeller on 15hp 4 stroke..
Very helpful video . Thanks
great video!!!! congratulationsss!!!!
First class job!!!!!!!
This video was awesome
great video
There is a roll pin that attaches the shift shaft just above the lower unit, you should be able to get to it with the lower unit dropped a few inches. There is a good exploded view on boats dot net
valeu bem explicado e limpo parabéns pelá aula do rotor da Bomba completa .
thanks for an awesome video !!!!!!
Will this procedure be identical for my Suzuki DT65 hp? Great video!
Best "how to" on the internet.
Great video, great camera work too! I purchased a new in the box 2017 25hp efi in May of 2019 the motor runs great and water comes out the pee hole when running, however when I hook the clamshell garden hose thing up no water comes out the pee hole, there is a side plug to flush when engine is off. Is this normal? and my old Johnson 90 water would squirt out the p hole with motor off, is water supposed to squirt out p hole with engine off while hose is running?
Thanks!
D-Ray enjoyed your video. I change the water pump in my DM 40 Suzuki outboard. the water pump does not pump water what could be wrong ? The tube to the motor is clear, I hooked a water hose to it and water comes out of the tattle tell.
thank you
Lee
This is really a good video. I realize it's 9 years old or older but still a good video. I'm looking at buying one of these motors it's like a 1978 I think maybe an 82 somewhere in there early 80s. What should I look for like common problems or issues with the dt40? Thank you I really enjoyed your video
D Ray, Awesome. I'm about to do my 2014 Suzuki DF175 for the first time myself. I have a question: should I put a small amount of grease on the water pump plate gasket at the mating surfaces or does it matter?
I really appreciate your fantastic video.
Very detailed video. The kit i bought doesnt include the flange but only the impeller. Is it necessarilly to change and the flange? And what maybe can happened if i dont change .Thanks in advanced
D-Ray, I used this vid to help me change the water pump on my DT30.
Now the carbs need cleaning. What’s the secret to getting the carbs off?
I assumed the silencer base comes off first but there’s not enough room to remove the bottom two bolts.
Are the carbs able to be removed with the silencer plate still in place?
Great Video D-Ray!!! Very educational. I am in Cape Town and we lack guys like you. I have a Suziki Dt30c outboard motor and have trouble since the day I bought it. Not sure what year model, but the motor sounds fine when out of the water, but "misses" when in the water. I can feel the loss in power every 5 seconds. It comes and goes as I drive. I have changed the spark plugs and had it service twice at different mechanics. Any advice please? I would really appriciate it...
Excellent video, very helpful!
Neels Viljoen I'm also in Cape Town, I also have a pair of DT30Cs.
I take it you have the dark silver grey models? The earlier models (light silver with blue decals) are notorious. But the later gun metal grey models are much, much better! Also super cheap on parts :)
I can't think what your motor's issue might be, it sounds almost like cavitation. What boat are pushing? Hopefully D-Ray will have some ideas...
Are there any videos of replacing the fuel pump diaphragm on that motor? Thanks.
Can you put up a video on how to clean the carburator on a suzuki outboard I have a 55hp one thanks
Hi, its a 5star video 🔧THANX☺
The best!!!
Thanks!
D-Ray..... I have one of these Suzuki 25hp 3cyl Oil injection engines that has mostly been sitting for years. Finally going to start using it again and it runs rough, long story short, did a compression test and 2 cylinders have great compression, one Cyl has zero compression. Do you work on issues like this?
Replaced water pump impeller just fine. Shifter linkage on top end came out of plastic shifter arm. I can’t get realigned, to I have to pull power head?
I have that exact motor I believe the water tube north of the water pump housing on up the leg. Its cracked a little peice but not all the way off could that be the issue to weak stream or little to no flow..
Hi, thank you for a good video!
My lower unit does not want to drop.
I've got the same model as in the movie an the screws and link are removed but it does not want to budge... What to do?
/ATW
My barrel nut on my shifting linkage is stuck in place. I've sprayed it with pb blaster several times to no avail. any idea how I can get this thing ti break loose without damaging anything? Thanks
Do you have any thing on a 1978 Suzuki DT50 that would help me change the impeller on my motor?
Where do I disconnect the shift cable on a 1978 Suzuki DT50? My motor does not have a plug on the starboard side like my repair book said to disconnect it from. The only place I can see to disconnect from is under the bottom carburetor. Please help. I am trying to replace the impeller on my motor.
I should have been more specific when i said that it spits water out the exhaust..I know that the exhaust comes out the prop also but it seems on the Suzuki i have that about half way down the shaft of the motor on the back there is 2 holes and the water comes out there and also i want to add that it only comes out 1 of the holes the other hole nothing comes out it...Is it suppose to come out both holes?? Thanks.
Hi i have a 1986 DT 25 Hp Suzuki and it only spits water out the exhaust and i have looked for a rubber hose for it to spit water out like a Johnson or mercury and i dont see one..Is this correct for a Suzuki or should it have water coming out a rubber hose also?? The water that comes out the exhaust is hot sometimes and it seems its cooling the engine and i have run it quiet a bit and i dont think its getting hot but it may be..Thanks if you could help.
I'm looking for some help on how to reinstall the diaphragm and it's parts on an 82 dt25. Any help would be appreciated greatly
Good afternoon, this same procedure used for the 15hp engine?
D Ray have you ever replaced the tube that runs from pump to motor
Thanks gal!
Great !!
good vid thanks
Thanks! I can do that.
I found a cracked o ring when I took the lower unit off. It was near the shifting linkage. Is that where it came from?
Thats a hell of lot easier than the DT85!!!!! RE: shifter linkage
I have Suzuki dt25ac, you know where to buy water pump kit online? I'm Italian, I'm sorry my English
