This was so fun to make! I’m proud to say I crocheted a little headband onto his feet so now I can walk around with a giant moth stuck to the side of my head. The type of attention I strive for.
i actually squealed out loud when i saw this i was so excited. this is soo good. i just really love your designs! you are just so creative with your designs, i love everyone of of them. i am always super hyped whenever there is a new video, even if its not a pattern. 😃
I may be the wrong judge of this since I actually think most arthropods are more or less adorable, but those legs are amazing and not at all creepy! Super clever way of making the joints there! This little guy is so heckin' cute and I feel like customising the colours and wing shapes to make many more species. :))
Thank you for the pattern! I love the detail and am excited to use the slicker brush It's easy to miss the 8sc to move the starting position: 13:17 If your butt striping comes out wonky that might be why!
@@ratsareannoyingWere you able to figure out the solution? I haven't gotten around to frogging mine to redo it, I will pay attention for corrections when I do
Thank you so much for this fantastic video. This pattern is amazing and the finished moth is perfect to go in our exhibition of nocturnal life at Danny Visitor Centre (North Yorkshire England). You are a brilliant teacher and so generous to give us this pattern. Thank you again xxx
I was not expecting this little fella to be so big until I opened the video! This will make a perfect birthday gift for my friend who loves all sorts of little creatures. Thank you for the tutorial! 😊❤️
I cannot even deal with how adorable this is. I’m always preaching to people how moths are just as wonderful as butterflies. Cuz all they are are nighttime butterflies. This thing is so dang cute! I’m pregnant with my third child and told my husband I wanted to make little bugs for toys. Cuz my kids love snails and ladybugs and bees and that would be so perfect Omg I love you!! What’s a slicker brush?
A slicker brush is a brush for grooming dogs, it has long thin wire bristles, you can see one at 32 minutes into the video. You can usually find them with the dog toys and brushes in any shop which is likely to sell those things.
yesterday i finished my little... well she's actually huge :D, moth, and i'm so thankful for this super well explained tutorial and this amazing design. Thank you so much!!!
So cute!! Not the most beginner friendly, so have something by you to know the stitches, haha. Also pro tip- if your sewing the eyes do them after you start the skull pattern. I made the mistake of not doing so and my little mother boy had an eye on the top of his head and an eye on the chin 😅 I love the pattern sm again!! Thank you for sharing this awsome creation!
I made this in pastel purple, pink and blue and it is so cute! If you don’t have safety eyes you can still make it. I used some felt and sewed the eyes on and then embroidered some sparkles. I love this pattern because i found the video easy to follow when compared to other UA-camrs video’s I’ve seen. It was a-lot of work for a stuffy so it is not something i see myself making a second time but I am sooooo happy I made it! Great Job!
Omg!!! Girrrrl! He's super adorbs!!!! And now I wish I WASNT in crojail (like always) as I'm curious of how the armpit floof would be when felted (yeah I neeeed to do dis... like... three days ago) Things I must do before I attempt this: 1. Test pattern (eyes arrived yesterday wooo!!) 2. Cat'hulu 3. Merlion 5. THIS.
this is amazing I am obsessed with moths and I just watched your giant bee video and I think Im going to have to try the 4 strands for this one. Thanks so much for the awesome patterns!
I found this little guy on Pinterest and could not believe that there was an available tutorial (how delightfully convenient,!!) I can't wait to get started with this project, thanks for your work 🤍🤍🤍🤍
I saw a poodle moth at my home once and instantly wanted to turn it into a plush. I searched and searched and found this video. I making a few modifications (yarn type, colors, marking placements, etc.) But I hope it comes out how I am expecting
This is a lovely moth! He Reminds me of silence of the lambs! It would have to be fate to make this guy while watching the movie. I hope youve had a good few weeks!
oh my gosh this is so cool!! i was originally gonna but a pattern for this but this one’s free!! thank you for always giving out super cool free patterns !!
Hello! Thanks for the diagram! I wanted to knit, but I can’t figure out how to find suitable yarn in our country :( Can I use yarn 4-ply according to your pattern or will I need to make changes? Thanks in advance
I like this moth pattern. Thank you for sharing your talent. I have a suggestion for a project, can you do a Great Ear Nightjar. They look amazing, like that they look like dragons.
More moths, beetles and bugs in general, please! :) Im an Animal Crossing fan and my favourite thing to do is catch bugs on that game so i want those bugs irl :))
I am catching up on some of your videos. This moth is truly amazing. You are extremely talented. Do you think that the fluff left over in the brush will felt as it is acrylic. I never use wool yarn at all but would be interested to know if it does come out like felted wool. Brilliant tutorial thank you ⭐️
Hey I love this pattern, just one question though, I’m following along the pattern with a stitch marker and when I repeat the second round I only get nine or less stitches or don’t even reach the start of the marker, am I doing something wrong?
Hi :) Potentially? After R1 we have 6 stitches to work into. In R2 we sc into the first stitch, increase into the second, increase into the third, sc into the fourth, increase into the fifth, and increase into the sixth. All up you should work 10 stitches.
Loving this moth so much! Thank you for the pattern :) Have you concidered doing a goliath beetle? I’ve been on a search but it has been impossible to find good ones. Question about the pattern: Do you work this in spiral, or do you slpst to 1st + chain 1 to close every round? It is hard to tell in the video
Thank you! Personality is always a good thing when making critters :) and honestly, I prefer working in spiral much more. Easier to get in a flow for some reason
So.... I'm having a problem when doing the butt of the moth. The part in the middle by the skull starts leaning a lot to the right and doesn't fix itself no matter how much I decrease, how do I solve this?😅
Haha, I can’t find the forhead slope to position the eyes on, I’m pretty sure it is not in the same location your is when looking at your starting stitch. I’m such a beginner 🤦♀️ I had to turn the head inside out to get the correct side on the outside, do you think that has anything to do with it? Any alternative suggestions on how to find the correct position? Sorry about this
All good. You can try stuffing to see if that makes it more obvious, but honestly? If you can't easily see it, it doesn't matter. Juts make sure once you've made the skull patch, that it sits centered on the top of the back, and insert your eyes at that point. As for turning the head inside out? For my first dozen videos on this channel I was crocheting inside out too, happens to the best of us :)
Thanks for the advice! I re-did the head and when stuffing like you suggested the shape is now appearing and looks very cute! I did run into a problem with the butt stripes now. Yours look very nice and even, I’m guessing each 2 rows thick? Mine don’t look the same at all. I have pictures, maybe you could take a look and see if there is something I’m interpreting wrong while reading the instructions? I tried to find my error in the color coding but I’m so new to reading patterns I’m getting a bit lost. Sorry to trouble you so! I’m loving working on this pattern, it is becoming such a cute creature! imgur.com/a/435bDWu
@@BlaisZeroni I know I'm a year late but I just ran into this exact same problem. I think there might be an error in the pattern. I'm just going to self correct with the right colors! Hi :) My videos are aimed at more experienced crocheters, so this would be challenging for a beginner. You should absolutely still try if you are interested, particularly if you have crocheted a couple of things before. Just go slow, ask questions when you get stuck, and use google for stitches you aren't sure about :) I've had people who have crocheted for years tell me my patterns are too hard, and freshly-hatched beginners say I was their first project and they loved it, so only you can be the judge.
This was so fun to make! I’m proud to say I crocheted a little headband onto his feet so now I can walk around with a giant moth stuck to the side of my head. The type of attention I strive for.

I've not tried the brushing technique with cotton, I'd love to know how you go!
i'm thinking about making this with cotton yarn, how did it work?
I hope it went well! I tried with cotton and it didn’t brush out sadly, just broke up into bits

Important note! Needle felting will *not* work on acrylic, so the lark's head knots are probably the best way to attach the fluffs
