    Thanks for bringing this to us! I prefer the nice mix of the Pro, even though most Cree XHPs are greenish. The Pro makes a great camp and bike light, you can see around you, but well ahead. Very nicely done.

    As someone just getting into flashlights (quality ones beyond the $1.99 ones in the check out line) I found this really invaluable. Gonna pick up the 1a I think…

    I didn't realize until today that if you unscrew the fw series a little from the front it locks it out... ooo
    Or in reverse, switch it on and select your brightness and unscrew it, you can't accidentally change the mode you're in..
    Kinda interesting find but unexpectedly useful! Eg after finally getting to candle mode depending on your experience level that could be from seconds to a couple of minutes to find lightning mode and candle esp on anduril 2.
    So this is an easy quicker to prevent accidental changing of modes or stopping your pocket setting on 🔥

    I was curious to know what the actual lengths of both the FW1A and FW3A are. In all the specs online i see it says 100.7mm, but they both can not be 100.7 mm. One is obviously longer. Thanks for sharing your opinion of these cool lights. I can not wait to get one.

    Great vid buddy 😎 got a question.... Is the linked torbo glow for the fw3a compatable with the edc18 (that I just bought)?

    My problem is with rubber switches, if you carry them daily, that black rubber turns white, the fw series eliminates this issue with the tail clicky switch and because it's metal it will last much much longer
    My second issue is rubber caps to protect the charging port, they break, all of them... I've had jet beam, Fenix and Klarus all fail on me
    So I have a set of specific criteria no rubber boot, no rubber button and no built in battery that cannot be replaced... and ideally it has to have anduril
    As you can imagine, I only have about 8 flashlights and a bunch of crappy edcs lol

      very good points! Especially as many people with EDC's dont actually carry them everyday. Many enthusiasts change out from their vast collection lol. (i am guilty of this)

    FW1A looks like it would make for a good weapons light. What would it take to make it shock proof?

    • @NJ-Tech
      @NJ-Tech  3 роки тому +1

      well there are plenty of drop tests on the FW series lights, they are pretty robust but i dont know how you could improve that. This thing has a ton of power for the size and as such heats up quick, so you couldnt use a silicone cover. Short answer, not sure!

    have you noticed your fw1a has the new reflector? ive read they are using the same reflector as they are using on fw1a pro, if you watch closely, the "gap" around the led on the fw1a its big compared with the first fw1a batch where they used a reflector that ends up very VERY close to the led. Have this gap afected in your light performance?

    • @NJ-Tech
      @NJ-Tech  3 роки тому +1

      i didnt know that how interesting. Well its the first Fw1a ive had so i have no comparison to the older one. I would think the closer gap reflector would probably get you better projection so thats a bit of a shame. They probably did this to keep manufacturing costs down.

    Does the fw3a have lower runtime compare to fw1a cause it uses 3 leds?

    • @NJ-Tech
      @NJ-Tech  4 роки тому

      I've not noticed a difference to be honest. You have so much control over the light output that they could be set to output the same amount of light and likely run for the same time as the FW3A would have one third the output per led. You just have the extra output if you want it.

    Hello sir. Did you mean that fw1a pro has a better throw than fw3a?

    • @NJ-Tech
      @NJ-Tech  3 роки тому +1

      honestly i couldnt separate them in throw. The Fw1a pro is a strange light, if i had to pick one up for flood and throw it would be the Fw3a because it does the same, i cant see a difference in output and it last longer on battery.. The 1a also has a strage green tint around the hotspot, plus you can use turboglow inserts in the 3a which is always cool :)

    • @NJ-Tech
      @NJ-Tech  4 роки тому +2

      this is the cool white 6500k. I prefer around 5000k personally but its definitely brighter on the cooler temps, which as more of a floody optic works well.

    i have the fw1apro and with the light turned off in total darkness i can still see a very tiny amount of light coming out of it. it is almost like having a glow in the dark o-ring but if you removed the head of the light the glowing stops. is this normal for this light or is there a problem with it? any help is appreciated thanks

    • @NJ-Tech

      the tail switch on all these is electronic so there is always a tiny parasitic draw, though i mean tiny, like probably measured in years if left in a draw. Mine does the same, dont worry about it at all.
