hey man thanks for contributing to the Subaru community and providing info for us future owners, i used this just to figure out where all the hardlines go without taking off my intake manifold to get a better understanding.
Coming here for help. I paid a shop to do the block off and delete, but now the car has issues starting every time I fill up gas and I’m getting break up under boost. Is there something that maybe was supposed to be plugged that was missed or anything I can check?
What did the shop do to the line coming from the firewall? Is it being vented or blocked? Are the solenoids still there? Also are you on the stock tune still? If so that would cause issues.
@@zach_lush they zip tied the solenoid to the back, and kept it plugged in to the harness. It’s tuned open source. I can check the tube from the firewall and report back! Thanks for the response!
@@Emzy-87 hmm, I'm not entirely sure then, maybe double check how they kept the solenoids plugged in? I know I had to put them back in. Can't remember which video I showed that.
Is it possible to do this and drive without getting a tune? Would the car drive fun other than a check engine light? Pulling my manifold old and broke a nipple on the evap solenoid as well as the t fitting and a hose or two
I believe you will be okay and only get CELs. But I'd look into this further. You might be able to just delete the codes with ECUFlash, but you'll have to look into it.
Thanks man. Sorry autocorrect kinda butchered my last comment but yeah a bunch of that evap stuff was super brittle and broke instantly when trying to remove my manifold. Trying to avoid having to spend the money on replacing the solenoid and hoses. My car has had a CEL on forever so I’m not sweating that as long as it doesn’t effect how the car runs
@@D9L9O all good, auto correct can get really annoying at times! I think you'll be fine, as long as your okay with the CELs, which doesn't seem to bother you already, haha!
Did you experience any high idle after? I deleted my Evap, capped off the ports on my intake manifold, routed the hose into my fender, and got the codes tuned out. Now I’m getting P0507. No vacuums leaks and did a smoke test. kinda stumped now.
@@anguyen5562 hmm I'm not entirely sure. Since your tuner deleted the codes I'd imagine it would be fine. Maybe since the car was originally tuned without it the idle is thrown off? Sounds like a question for your tuner in all honesty.
So after doing this modification I never got a code. The reason for this is I had my tuner remove the codes immediately with a new break in map for my new engine. That being said this modification isn't worth doing if your engine is stock and does not require any tuning. Won't won't gain any power, just space in the engine bay.
What year is the Subaru?. I have a 2015 Wrx and going crazy looking to replace the Purge Valve on it and can’t find it, I almost disarm the hole engine and can’t still find it.🤷
Like if you should keep it or not? Well if your tuning your car with the COBB AP I'd keep it. Otherwise I would personally delete what you can from your car to clean up the bay. Obviously if you have emission tests i would keep it!
@@zach_lush ok , I am doing my forester build at the moment and looking into this instead of venting atmosphere was thinking 🤔 would it work the same but without the sensor can run a tuck line which suck the vapour into the engine or will that cause a issue.
@@ttec25 I've heard someone managed to delete one sensor but not both. Pretty sure you can't just run it in. I cod be wrong though. I was letting the vapors vent to atmosphere but ended up having issues when I got tuned using open source. Just put everything back in

No problem, happy it helped!

@@zach_lush ya I don’t see anything plugged or re routed coming from the firewall. Wish I could send pics

Cant do in Ct. Emissions an issue

Is your car tuned for it? That could be your issue
@@zach_lush Yup I had my tuner delete all the codes related to evap. Do you think I need to put my car on the dyno again?

Assuming you had a P0568 code. what map/tune did you have to get rid of it. and how

@@TheeHenley oh right, forgot about that. Have you ever considered converting your aos to the competition series?
@@zach_lush yes I have but was told by Iag I don’t need to since I’m under the hp application but I can again

Evap system on my 2006 sti pita. Numerous issues
Get rid of it if you can!
Can't you just connect the hose back into to manifold after getting rid of the sensor
Honestly, I'm not too sure about that. But what I was trying to achieve was no more hoses there. Wanted to clean up that area.

Can you bypass the sensor?
Is it possible to still tune it off?
With COBB? Don't believe so. Unless you can find a tuner that will do it for you.
