Nobody tell Max about the secret 4th form. Blackflame Friede riding the Greatwolf.
N00BSYBORG holy fuck you have no idea how much I want this. Have the wolf be on fire with black flames for extra dank badassery
enigmatic gentleman That's the 5th form.
N00BSYBORG The 6th is her riding Sif's flaming skeleton
And then Giant Dad crashes through the ceiling and pwns all of them, becoming the true final boss.
...are we even playing the same game?
There's only four forms and the fourth is just pinwheel.
Whatever drugs you guys are on I want some.

I agree with him, this fight was not hard. DS3 was my first souls game and I was shocked when I went online after beating this only to see a ton of people saying this fight was super hard

Fuckkkkk this was my favorite Boss Rage compilation. The music with Max's character charging into the boss room with that metal ass hair flowing in the wind...
EPIC AF
The atacks of the third form are so fucking beautiful
A beautiful and deathly dance...
The most anime fight in the game. I love it.

82 deaths. 8 hours and only 9/10 difficulty? what warrants 10/10 :O
Oh my Lord Maximilian responded, I see your point! Great video either way! Boss rages were the first things I saw from your channel :)
Maximilian Dood what is this music? its godlike
well thank heavens for small favors. also, i have no idea what that fire lance is, but i'm building a dude to use it right now. holy shit.
I believe Shao Kahn got a 10/10
i loved the mg3 ladder song when you were going up the long ass ladder
would have LAUGHED my arse off if she had a 4th form XD
To those wondering what the song from 9:42-12:23 is, it's "Sky Should Be High" from Guilty Gear Xrd.
Black Mage Maverick thx man
Thank you so much
when Max gonna upload his full playthrough? i want to watch all

Wow. It took me until now to realise that joke.
This game looks pretty good. I've never played Dark Souls but I'm thinking of getting into it after watching this video!
All of them are good, but for a beginner I would recommend Dark Souls 1 or Bloodborne if you have a PS4. You can jump into 3 just fine, but much of it's world won't make nearly as much sense without you having at least played 1, and Bloodborne, like 3, streamlined and refined many of the mechanics such that it is easier to get into. The only reason I don't recommend 2 first is because it's slower and more deliberate in a way that feels unlike the other games. Also, Bloodborne and Dark Souls 1 have some of the best level design in the Soulsborne series.
Mordalon Well I don't have a PS4 at the moment so Dark Souls 1 it is. I would really like to play them in order to be honest from start to finish. If I start playing them in order where does Bloodborne go in this case? Is it after 2?
I've heard good things of this franchise and I do love hard games. I'm a huge fan of the Ninja Gaiden games so I'm used to getting destroyed in a video game!
Soma Julius Cruz Bloodborne and Demon Souls aren't connected to Dark Souls, just that they have similar themes and recurring archetypes, so it doesn't matter at what point you play BB. The main reason 2 feels different is because the director of DS1, Hidetaka Miyazaki, wasn't the director and only partially involved. I have not played Ninja Gaiden, but one thing that makes Souls difficulty different than most fast-twitch difficulty games is that a greater focus is placed on patience and observation. What makes DS3 so unique, and why I recommend you play DS1 first, is because it's the only one to expand on the narrative of a previous game to a large degree. DS2, as I mentioned, didn't have it's director as involved, so its story connections to 1 aren't as obvious, but if you don't care too much about story then it shouldn't matter.
Mordalon Oh I see well I guess I'll just leave BloodBorne for last then. Well I was looking for Dark Souls in the PS store but apparently there's no digital version. That sucks because I buy a lot of my games digital these days because Gamestop left Puerto Rico a couple of months ago. Well I play a lot of USF4 and you have to be patient and observant there as well so I think Dark Souls and me are going to be a good fit. If i can find a copy of the first one that is. I wouldn't mind grabbing a copy of Castlevania Lords of Shadow. I haven't played those yet either.
Soma Julius Cruz I actually first played Dark Souls 1 on Steam, and unless your computer is old and busted, you should be able to play it. Also, I'd advice on PC downloading the mod "DSfix", a mod that helps with resolution and frame-rate among other things. This is because Fromsoftware have usually been console-focused, and while they've gotten better with their PC ports, DS1's port had some rough edges.

Guilty Gear music and Dark Souls goes together surprisingly well.
The MGS3 reference at 4:19 had me rolling
Does Max edit his own stuff? Really good.
Yes...Max does freelance video editing.
what program does he use?
Indeed! Amazing editing!
who else thinks " Sky should be high" should be used in more of Max's Boss Rage videos? It is just so epic if a song!
Please do a boss rage on old kof games they definitely deserve to be in on this.
Rugalheid Bernstein I know right?! It's time for some KOF Boss Rages!!
If he ever does a KOF game, it'll be KOF XIV. He's NEVER gonna get around to old SNK games or any other hard non-Capcom fighters.
Roodypoocandyass KOF XIV bosses are shit in design and in difficulty, they are way easier than the older games.
I doubt he'll ever do one. SNK boses are made to burn money on the arcades, not being fun or challenging.
Star Killah I don't think Mutilator and Shao Kahn are fun. LOL
For a second there, I dared the thought of thinking that she just took too much damage when Max did a parry. Then, she re-awakens, and Max found himself fighting fighting against 2 bosses. At that moment, I understood why she got little life, but then she re-awakens again with 2 scythe wielding dark and ice magic. I said to myself, I have no chance against this boss.
Strider-Ragnarok Don't despair my good fellow, it's all a matter of learning the pattern. Dark Souls has the best bosses because they are a puzzle. Once you learn all the pieces the puzzle has, it becomes that much easier to take it apart piece by piece. I'll tell you, I thought the same, but a little experience goes a long way.
Frizen 3 tries, NG + here.
She was hard as hell.
Strider-Ragnarok brother, if I defeated her, you can, I didn’t parry a single time as well, it was just Strength build face fuckery
HicksZ34 Oh man, I‘ve been there just last week. Friede made me go hollow. I‘d get through the first two phases only needing one Estus, but would get destroyed in the third phase. I got close to beating her SO many times and it felt incredibly demotivating slogging through the first two phases just to have a chance at the third... Especially as a strength build as she‘s so fast. Ended up switching my UGS to a GS but then needed to adapt to that as well.
Up until that point, Ludwig was the boss I‘ve died the most to with 32 deaths. But I was enjoying every single second of it. He‘s one of my favourite bosses of all time. I‘d get right back up, ready to learn and adapt until I beat him. His first phase was just so difficult for me... Meanwhile Friede took me down 38 times over the span of five days. Just hearing her breathe in or the sound of her footsteps in videos would literally put me in fight or flight mode.
Anyway, what I‘m trying to say is: If I can beat her completely without summons, SL101, without parrying once, and still have Estus left at the end of the fight, so can you. Just learn the openings-especially in the third phase she’s prone to backstabs, so just fish for those. Most notably when she goes invisible, jumps into the air for the ice or black flame attack, or when she spins towards you and wants to cut your head off. When she goes invisible, just run towards her and see where she goes. The puff of snow she leaves behind is always the opposite way of where she went. The others just come down to timing and dodging into her rather than away. The key to this fight is to be a master at managing your stamina, and being the one in control of the fight. If you back off frantically to heal, she‘ll just chase and combo you until you‘re dead. So don‘t let her get the upper hand, and slowly but surely her health will go down. Needing this sort of aggression is what made the boss so difficult for me. But once I actively tried it, I got her down in two more tries.
When she finally died for good, I screamed, and felt that rush I only experienced a handful of times playing through the souls games. Just don‘t give up! And may the flames guide your way.
I hate that boss they gave too many abilities its hell
That MGS3 at 4:17 well done Max
I want Max shouting "No! Stay down!" as my new alarm tone in the morning.
Now do Gael and Midir.
Its Taga Gael the Knight? ffs is he a boss? fucking shit, the things about going through the comments, the spoiler? °-°
Facing both the strongest souls boss (lore wise) and an Abyss corrupted Dragon, that would make a good Boss Rage
midir is overrated. Atfirst it did feel really hard, theni stripped down, used the ring that increases damage if u reduce weight and every dps increasing ring i could find, used the buffs and the dragon started taking damage like a normal boss would. His attacks are well telegraphed and not that hard to dodge, and unlike friede u know exactly when its safe to attack. Friede imo is the hardest DS3 boss. Midir just needs high dps.
@@r17v1 With Friede you also know exactly when its safe to attack, you just didn't studied the boss enough.
Yall are crazy saying friede is harder than gael. You can backstab her easy as fuck lol
You know it epic..when "sky should be high" comes on
7:25 When a boss plays BloodBorne style and you’re stuck playing in Dark Souls style
I love these, Max. The edits and your passion are freaking perfect, I get so hyped watching it!
I actually teared up on your Asura's Wrath boss rage it was so badass!
Snake eater reference gets an instant thumbs up lol
It's finally back! My favorite Boss Rage. The editing in this one is just so goddamn hype.
My God, this boss was exquisite! Seriously one of the most epic boss fights I have ever experienced. When she stood back up after Ariandel burned everything... I was like "oh shit".... But, when she stood back up for the black flame version, I was astounded. Hard as hell boss fight, but do worth it. From really outdid themselves on this one, animations and all.
P. S. Nice MGS3 reference, I was on the floor dead during that lol
I'm so happy this is back up, it honestly almost makes me want to cry. This is one of my favorite Boss Rages you've done. The editing and music are just spot on, especially the use of Sky Should Be High, which I felt was amazing for the end of this video. It broke my heart when this and many of your other videos were down and I've been waiting years in the hopes I could see this again.
"She was nice before, I don't think she'll be so bad."
HA! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!
The best parts is first the build up with music, then the resurgence. GG has great music, and Max has good taste in it.
That Snake Eater reference was fucking incredible.
Accidently watching this exactly a year from the release of the video
Excellent choice of music for the end Max!
4:29 lol , i remember that part in MGS 3 , i was like , WHY ?
THE KING Meruem i give my liiiiife
And then the white flowers, really looks like a mgs3 cameo
What a thrill
THE KING Meruem A Kojima Experience.
God, the music and hype of Boss Rage is what always brings me back to it. I'M NOT CRYING. THEY'RE HYPE TEARS.
I always kill everything I encounter on the way to a boss in DS *every single time*
Needles to say I don't make very good progress...
Nice ladder btw
Best Boss Rage by a landslide.
For you, maybe... But there's still Oni in Asura's Wrath, Bad Sagat, God Rugal beaten by Rock "Acolyte of hype" Howard, Shadow Jago, and of course... The day Ssapo was praised.
Cook Oliver Yes, the inference is that it's my opinion, and whether you agree with me or not has little bearing on me expressing that.
Nope Naw
I wasn't interfering with your thoughts. What I meant was, it is as freakin' awesome and hype as the examples I've mentioned.
I’m so glad this is back on UA-cam
4:10 Hey, he hit the weakpoint for massive damage.
Lol
I know that feeling with bosses like this, you learn the first phase and it’s a breeze but once you get to the final phase and die, suddenly the first phase is fucking impossible again
just found the channel and I'm so glad I did!
gave me the fudging shivers at the end. here's to the most epic dude on youtube.
That Metal Gear Solid reference, MAX I LOVE YOU SO MUCH :''''''(
Awesome music and video ;) GG Max
I started today, and, dude...BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITCH of SATAN""!!!!!!!
Happy 5 years to the video that sent me back to Soulsborne
I can only imagine how long the editing took. That's the real boss battle.
I'LL NEV-ER EV-ER KNEEL DOWN!!!
best part
5:45 That one enemy looks like that weird character from Soul Calibur 4
Voldo?
Blame the darkness of the tomb whence he was locked in.
this made me very happy, I can't believe I hadn't watched this sooner. awesome to see you on one of my favorite franchises.
this by far is my fav! I loved this! Can you fight against Jinpachi Mishima in tekken 5 Azazel in tekken 6 and Vergil in DMC 3?
This game for some reason has Elden Ring vibes almost as if they are connected somehow...still its hilarious to see what basically Elden Ring was like...in 2016
Including the best part the boss battles and THE GIANT CRABS with wolves and other hilarious giant creatures
Boss rage is back? HELL YEAH!
I'm glad boss rage is back. I couldn't of imagined this one without the great tracks!
One of the best vids Max has put out!!
i'm just imagining an anime made of this fight XD wouldn't that be awesome?
Max just wanna say love your content. Hope you do more with the music in the background. always makes it intensely awesome.
Didn't think I'd see Dark Souls for a boss rage video (despite the Dark Souls games being infamous for their difficulty). Makes me wonder if other games might be possible for future installments. coughcoughmonsterhuntercough.
4:18 that Snake Eater music was so perfect timing really threw me back in time to good days :')
holy shit she looks freaking cool i havent played dark souls 3 but plz tell me when you get a scythe in this game your attacks look some what similar-ly cool and not the shitty scythe moves that were in DS1
Sycthe got recently an upgrade, swings are way faster now and her sycthe is even faster and more fluid, has a third R1 strike and its weapnon art creates a second sycthe either for making a AOE area on the ground which causes frost bite or quite the frenzy attack, a lovely 8 attack chain
The range is ass though. I literally cheesed the new Arena with lothric knight straight sword because everyone was using the scythes and the onyx blade
Pablo Jose
I suppose because lothric sword has a good stab attack? Which i suppose have a longer reach than normal swings. And Sycthe's weaponart has quite a lot of delay
nope i just looked at the gameplay it looks shit it only looked good with her ...im talking about animations... the way she holds it. the way she moves with it. i wanted that but the way the player holds it is still the same as it was in DS1
Frizen i know what you're talking about but what im trying to say is like the way she walks with the scythe not even the duel ones just double handing the single scythe. im talking about the neutral stance how the player stands holding the scythe. i guess what i wanted was the same cool animation set that includes all the stances and everything she does
(keep in mind im not talking about attacks im talking about just holding walking running moving with the scythe)
but i get it you cant have that cuz SHE is a "BOSS" she is supposed to look badass. you know it deep in your heart when the player hold a scythe it looks like eeh just another weapon but when you see her wielding the scythe you know she was made for the scythe
Glad to watch this again
Still waiting for the Rodin in Bayonetta boss rages.
Love the editing style and accompanying music, really sets the tone. Awesome vid!
YOU SPENT 8 HOURS DOING THIS?!! Damn😐
Still. That's insane!
Eh i spent about 7 and a half but i took my time exploring every nook and cranny and took about 20 tries for the final boss.
Did he played through the whole game?
+Gadlight
Fume Knight is a piece of shit.
Best boss rage video ever! So glad these vids are back!
Boss Rage tv show would be pretty hype. Agreement?
maybe a boss rage in between seasons of esports tournaments

Fade Away! Fades away like footsteps on the shoreline! Damn I love that song.
When "Sky Should Be High" plays, shit get real.
A WILD PACK OF BENNYS HAS APPEARED
Browsing UA-cam at 4 in the morning, and I happen upon a rage compilation this video was amazing! The intro, his reactions to enemies and bosses I love it!!
This was entertaining as hell :P
thank you max for bringing this back. it's one of the reasons why I picked up the game in the first place
Sky Should be High: *I'LL!! NE!!! VER!! EV!! ER!!! KNEEL!!-*

Glad to see Boss Rage back. Always my favorite of your youtube series.
What's the music used in this?
Favorite video just came back and it's more hype than ever
what's that song in the end sounds metal as hell
Sky should be high from an Anime Fighting Game Called Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator
dood is it me or is this the full version of the op from one minute melee.
*from a metal/rock inspired anime fighting Game called guilty gear xrd revelator.
I've watched your stuff for some time but subbed because of this. The GGXrd music for this was so perfect
This video made me cam'st
Amazing editing, perfect sound quality, and an impeccable voice and commentary.
I thoroughly enjoyed this video. Subscribed.
Can you beat Parace L'sia from the "Arcana Hearts" series? I guarantee the difficulty rating will be 11/10.
Going through the DLCs right now. That montage was highly, highly entertaining. Thank you for this.
Please make a video like this of the new DLC the Ringed City
I saw this video a year ago and spent at least a week looking for this video and I finally found it!
Constantly breaking her poise with Onikiri & Ubadachi's L2 was funny. Especially when you see other people struggle so hard, lol.
That DLC definitely has a wealth of content. Well done, Max.
Snakkeeeeee Eaterrrrr!
nice touch with the Snake Eater Ladder Climb...awesome
dude, this is one of the best video of this dlc.. nice work.
What song is at 7:25?
I just wanna say I finally got to experience this 6 years later on yesterday with this DLC and man this encounter was one of my favorite battles. I may have gotten into the soul series late but it was all worth it. Bring on Elden Ring!! 😎💪
dark eater midir?
Looks like you also had a blast editing this baby; Good cinematic stuff, as always.
This is my favorite boss fight out of all of them. The music and commentary just makes it stand out for me. 🎮
Dood, that ladder call back to MGS3: Snake Eater had me cracking up so bad...I don't know if anyone else got it but that was priceless comedy. Great vid Max.
The expletives on each of those deaths just made it amazing.
